9 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoFor Asthma - alternative treatment?
My doctor has me on flovent (fluticasone propinate) with an albuterol chaser and I hate it - I'm convinced that these are agitating my blood pressure, plus my energy is all but thoroughly dipleted!
During my last hospital visit (I was coughing so much that I thought I cracked a rib), after ruling out fractures and blood clots, I was put on prednisone for 5 days; that was the best I've breathed since I was diagnosed with this bear, and I had more energy than I have in over a year! However prednisone is a steroid and I don't want to blow up.
Any suggestions on alternative treatments that won't suck out my energy?
Many thanks
8 AnswersAllergies1 decade agoI heard that Bobbi Kristina tried to stab Whitney then herself?
I hope it's not true, but wouldn't be suprised terribly if it did happen. Those two (Bobby and Whitney) put that girl THROUGH IT with their disfunction, and it all played out in public! At any rate, I hope Bobbi gets the help she needs in order to cope with it all.
So far, the only source reporting this is the National Enquirer.
Has anyone else heard this?
*sigh
Goes to show you the grass isn't always greener on the other side - especially if your parents have smoked it all.
3 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoCaucus States: How does it feel knowing Clinton could care less about your votes?
WHITE MARSH, Maryland (CNN) — Hillary Clinton on Monday explained away Barack Obama's clean sweep of the weekend's caucuses and primaries as a product of a caucus system that favors "activists" and, in the case of the Louisiana primary, an energized African-American community.
She told reporters who had gathered to watch her tour a General Motors plant here that "everybody knew, you all knew, what the likely outcome of these recent contests were."

Does she not realize that when she opens her mouth, sound actually comes out, and she can be heard??
If I was in one of the caucus states, I'd be mad as a hatter right about now knowing that essentially the future potential president could give two craps about my say.
But that's just me - what are your thoughts?

3 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoRepublican Presidential Debate at Morgan State U & the "Black Vote"?
The Republican candidate debate took place last night at Morgan State University - (moderated by Tavis Smiley and aired on PBS) - though I'm not republican, I found the debate pretty compelling. One thing evident was that the "Big 4" (Giuliani, McCain, Thompson, Romney) were noticibly absent from this debate.
Did you catch this debate, and what were your thoughts?
Considering the demographics - a predominately black audience - do you think that perhaps the big 4 may have missed a key opportunity here to get the black vote?
10 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo you know the full lyrics for Today I Sing the Blues?
More specifically I'm looking for the second verse that I cannot seem to find no matter where I look. If it plays on the radio, they only play the version with just two verses, taking the middle one out altogether.
Any Aretha fans who know this song, holler back
Thanks
1 AnswerR&B & Soul1 decade agoPassions Observation?
Just backtracking for a second, to that whole thing when Theresa was a surrogate for Gwen, then she ended up carrying twins because she tricked Ethan into sleeping with her, then one of the twins (presumably Gwen's) "supposedly" died?
So I'm catching up to the recent couple of episodes and I'm watching the wedding, and ya know......Jane (Theresa and Ethan's daughter) is awefully blond. Wouldn't it be messed up if she turns out to actually be Gwen's?
Just a thought
6 AnswersSoap Operas1 decade agoNew Statue in Upham's Corner?
A couple weeks ago, my brother, sister and I were driving along Columbia Road, and right in Uphams Corner we see this huge bronze statue of...I want to say Bartlet pear. Kind of warped it's kind of shaped like the Grinche's head but no face (my brother's observation)
Anyone in the area know what this is a tribute to? Just curious.

I know that Gov Patrick put it in the books, and there was a gathering in Franklin Park today, but does anyone know what else is going on this week for Juneteenth in and around Boston?
2 AnswersOther - Holidays1 decade agoFed up with gyms; need alternative - TURBO JAM vs SLIM IN 6?
So yet another gym has opened up near work, and it's way more expensive than the others in the area (average monthly fee for the others being $68 NOT including personal trainer) What a RIP!
So, aside taking up walking again, the dance complex always being an option, as well as pay as you go at the Y, I still want something I can do at home.
So if anyone who's tried either Turbo Jam or Slim in 6 (as opposed to Slim Fast - not looking for a diet program) could give their honest opinion (good and bad), I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks :o)

1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoNon medical treatments for asthma?
I've just been diagnosed with asthma; was afflicted while suffering a cold, and according to the doctor, my excessive coughing is how my asthma introduced itself. I do feel a difference as far as my breathing and my energy, as if my lung capacity has been cut in half. On top of that, I'm still coughing like a maniac because I feel something lodged in there. I can safely say that this whole ordeal sucks @$$. I was given a prescription for albuterol (inhaler) which works fine and all, but I don't want to grow dependent on it.
Any tips on increasing my lung capacity and control my coughing (breathing excercizes, vitamins, detox, etc) would be greatly appreciated.
