keri gee
I'm a liberal, progressive Christian. I try to be a voice for aspects of faith that don't often get heard on Answers. We need more listening to one another and searching for truth beyond propaganda about one another's beliefs and thoughts.
Do you judge people based on their beliefs or their grammar?
I'm going with grammar.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWould you say the things you say on here to someone in person?
Would you sit down with someone with completely opposing views and tell them what they believe or don't believe is idiotic? How many people in R&S have actually had real, in person, conversations with people who believe differently than themselves?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy do religious and non-religious folk alike think it's ok to take scripture out of context?
For example if I wrote a note to someone and said "give me your digits." I could mean give me your phone #, give me your fingers, give me your address...how would someone reading that note 100 years from now make sense of it? They would have to learn about me, who I was writing to, and what was the context of the note.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIf we use the Old Testament against homosexuality then we can also justify polygamy using the Old Testament-?
and if Jesus says the prophets are his mouthpieces does that include Balaam's ***?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhat did Jesus have to say about homosexuality?
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo you think it would be helpful to teach my Sunday School class the books of the Bible using rap-?
or as I call it "the rhythm method?"
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHas your faith developed since childhood?
Our minds and lives develop and mature, but we still try to hold on to Kindergarten ideas of God and the Bible? Can you name a thought or belief that has changed as an adult? Are you willing to be challenged in your faith?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHas anyone here ever heard of Francisco Ayala?
He won the Templeton Prize. Professor of Biology and Philosophy at UC Davis and has written several articles about Evolution and religion including "Darwin's Gift to Science and Religion."
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow did Jesus convert people?
Did he have them ask him into their heart? Did he have them confess their sins? How could they become Christians if there was no church to join?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDid Jesus ever give anyone money? Or advice?
Do you think the ways we think of as helping sometimes aren't really helpful?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCould Atheists/Atheism exist without the system of Theism, or faith?
Isn't Atheism dependent on what it's against?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhich is more important, the question or the answer?
Which expands the mind more? Which is more important in the spiritual/faith life?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy have Republicans lost their patriotism lately? Why do they hate America?
According to the Republican play book, it's unpatriotic not to support the President NO MATTER WHAT. Why are they helping the terrorists by being disruptive of something so important to millions of people in our country? Why are they all of a sudden proud to be "right wing terrorists?" Should they be detained? Oh let me not forget the mantra, "if you don't like it you can leave."
14 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAtheists/Agnostics: When you lose a loved one does a part of you hope there is life after death?
Or are you o.k. with thinking that this is all there is and the person lives on in our memories?
26 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy can't we have civil marriages and religious marriages?
If people want to say two same sex people shouldn't be married based on religious reasons, then fine, don't marry them in your particular church. But marriage is a civic and societal norm, not restricted to the religious.
(no pun intended on the "civil marriage." :p
