  • Facebook messages: Attachment unavailable?

When I try to send a link to an article or video (or whatever) via private message on FB, the recipient gets this message: "Attachment unavailable. The privacy settings on attachment don't allow me to view it." I checked my profile account and privacy settings and I can find a solution to fix this. Anyone know how to resolve this?

  • Anyone else have a fear of mannequins?

Am I the only one that has this fear? I absolutely hate manniquins...but only certain ones. The gender neutral ones with no faces don't bother me...it's the ones that have fake, painted faces that darn give me a panic attack.

I believe this fear is called pediophobia, fear of dolls, mannequins or children.

  • 70's Omega LED digital watch repair?

Hi. I have a vintage Omega Time Computer Watch from the early 70's. It's the one with the old red LED's and a it's classic piece. It has been non-operational since the late 80's and would love to restore it. Replacing the batteries has not brought it back to life. Anyone know of a reputable watch repair person that specializes in vintage LED watches?

  • What are the USB "extension ports" on the Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player used for?

I flipped open the front panel on my Toshiba HD-DVD player and found 2 mysterious USB "extension ports". The manual does not mention a use, nor does the Toshiba website. Are they for future upgrades or accesories?

  • Why do speakers crackle and buzz right before your cell phone rings?

I've always wondered if this was caused by some weird type of feedback or interference. The buzzing sound is so annoying.

  • Mercury-free compact fluorescent bulbs?

I know the latest "green" thing to do is to replace all your light bulbs to compact fluorescent versions. However, what people don't tell you is that these bulbs contain significant amounts of mercury (Hg) which is poisonous and harmful to the environment is not disposed properly. Is there such a thing as mercury-free fluorescent bulbs? I don't want to make the environment worse just to save energy.

  • Ladies, how big do you like your engagement diamond?

I just got a 1.25ct heart shaped diamond for an engagement ring I'm building. Is that a good size or should I go bigger? What sizes do you wear?

  • Platinum engagment rings? Too soft?

My friend is an "engagement planner" and she told me to avoid platinum for engagement / wedding rings. Even though it's a wonderful metal, platinum rings are very soft, like gold, and will eventually wear thin on the bottom of the ring. Some of my married friends regret getting platinum because they always have to run to the jeweler every couple of years, dropping $200-300 to fill the ring back.

Is platinum really that soft? Should I get a titanium ring instead? I don't care about price; I'm more concerned about the durability of the ring.

  • Synthetic diamonds...?

After watching the movie "Blood Diamond" and doing a lot of research, my girlfriend and I are ethically opposed to the purchase of mined diamonds. We are in disdain of the following:

    1) Death and carnage of innocent Africans in the conflict diamond trade.

    2) The greedy, monopolistic practices of the DeBeers diamond cartel.

    3) The artificial scarcity of diamond supplies created by said cartel, which keeps prices high.

    4) The bombardment of diamond advertising and celebrity lifestyle which put millions of people deep into debt.

I would like to know what are the highest quality synthetic diamonds available and if anyone had purchased these diamonds online or from a dealer. So far I have fond these sites online:

    Diamond Nexus Labs

    Russian Brilliants

    Carat* Hong Kong

    Any other recommendations?

  • MS Outlook 2000, Certain new emails go directly to the deleted items folder.?

Certain emails go directly to the "deleted items" folder. There are no rules that prevent these emails from going through. No spam or spyware filters. No attachments on emails. Norton AV is turned off. 95% of new mail goes into inbox - no problem, the other 5% goes to the deleted folder with no user action.

  • I'm looking for a high quality surround AV receiver that is actually "Made In Japan"?

All the high end AV equipment out there (Sony, Denon, Marantz, etc.) are made in China, Malaysia, and the Phillipines with cheap, inferior parts that will break in 2-5 years. I was hoping there is a solidly built AV Surround receiver out there that is still made in Japan with solid, quality parts and electronics.

THX sound is optional, HDMI optional. Model numbers would be great. I just want a true Japanese-built surround receiver that's built like a tank.
