  • Passed driving test last week but still very very nervous........?

.....to the extent that when dropping my daughter off at school (main road drop off) I will sit in the parking space until the main road is practically clear, sometimes til about 9.10am, meaning that i have sat there for 15 minutes. I don't feel confident enough to stick the indicator on and have someone allow me to pull out. I have this HUGE fear of stalling, and even when approaching junctions, I am doing all of them (even open clear junctions) in first gear and moving off VERY slowly. I was much better when having my lessons and it just seems to be getting worse, I get really flustered at the slightest thing! so I have a few questions:

    1. I understand that driving confidence takes time and that only now I am learning to properly drive, not learning to pass a test, but the more flustered and scared I get, the less I want to actually drive! Does this feeling pass?

    2. Why am I emerging so slowly from junctions (apart from the fact i am in first gear?) Surely i should be able to take off a bit quicker by now??

    3. Once I am on the actual road I am fine, sticking within speed limits and not driving too slowly, but it's just pulling into busy traffic that hinders me. BIG TIME.

My fiance says that I need to realise that I now have as much right as everyone else to be on the roads, but I don't feel I deserve it and still can't get over the fact that I actually passed my test first time. I had 40 ish lessons and about 20 hours of private practice but my confidence was only ever there in my instructors car, never my own car. Its now just worse that I am driving on my own.

I just feel that I want to give up!

    Please help!

  • Is it possible I could be pregnant?

Hi there everyone. Just looking for some advice on this one.

Me and my fiance are not trying for a baby but more of "if it happens it happens" scenario. Anyway, we had sex, which I calculated to be my ovulation time. Since then I have had tender breasts (but not now), metallic taste in mouth (but not now), frequent headaches (still getting them) and abdominal cramps. I am normally a regular 26 day cycle and was due a period on 3rd Jan. On new years eve (Friday) at the party we were having I started bleeding light. This continued light though Saturday and had a few clots, nothing major, then Sunday morning nothing. stopped. gone. I am still getting abdominal cramping and am rather hungry but nothing else. I did a HPT on thursday 30th which was negative. This would have been 4 days before my period was due however. Just to add my period is normally 3-5 days steady flow with little clots during course of period. Nothing majorly heavy, but just steady.

The thing is, I just FEEL pregnant? Should I test again? I am awating some early pregnancy tests arriving rather than buying a shop one which only detects at 25MiU, these ones detect as little as 10MiU.

Has anyone else had this happen and gone on to have a positive HPT?

    Thanks

  • Is my child being greedy? Need advice!?

My daughter who will be 6 in November, has started her "xmas" list, and so far is on page 6 of A4 paper! Okay her writing is huge, but there is at least 6-7 per page. Every advert that is shown on TV she adds to her list. She thinks whatever she asks santa for she will get, but I have sat down and explained to her that she won't get everything, and santa has to shre the toys out between ALL the boys and girls.

This just makes her go in a strop.

She is a good girl most of the time, so thinks she "deserves" all these items.

also her birthday is end november and she has started making a list for who she is inviting to her birthday party. I've nto even got anything booked yet, what with buying xmas presents from her list!

I only work part time and her dad does work but is not guaranteed work just now in this climate and we are trying to be so careful and keep spending to a minimum.

We had a party int eh house for her last year and that was a disaster and I vowed I would not do that again.

she wants one at like one of these play area things, where its teh set price per head (normally £7.99 - £9.99 a head), but she wants to invite her whole class at school, which is 24 others. TOO much money. On top of that the cake etc.

Should I compromise and tell her she could invite maybe 15 and hope that some can't go (that sounds awful doesn't it?)

In such a quandry, please give me some advice!
