  • Is Dark Energy the opposing force to gravity, or to Dark Matter?

Nature seems to always be a balamce of two opposing forces at some scale. I once heard that dark energy is the force causing the expansion of the universe, while dark matter was the stuff that had slowed it down, before there was an inbalance (for lack of a better term). However, this documentary was saying that dark matter is not necessarily the "space between" (which I guess dark energy is) but the skeleton of matter, the foundation or blueprint for the structure of the universe--a cosmic web for matter to stick to. That force that slowed down dark energy wasn't the dark matter its self, but rather the gravitational forces it's dark mass produced. So would it be fair to say that Dark Energy is the opposing force of Gravitational Force? A sort of anti-gravity?

  • Are endophine highs real? What do they feel like?

I've wprked out before, and really pushed it sometimes. Although, I get really bored working out, and don't understand the "high" people get. I've never experienced it before. Is there an actual physical thing going on, or is it just mental, and people just project the feeling because they expect it?

  • Why do Girls systematically purge people from their lives?

Particularly old friends. I understand cutting the toxic people out, but I don't understand cutting out old friends. It seems rather insulting, or demanding, to remove people because they don't talk to you. Yet, I always see people post on social media how they're removing friends, and only keeping "real" friends.

So why punish the friends that aren't toxic? It's a short life, so I can't understand how people can find others so disposable.

There is a line between "taking care of yourself" and "being unnecessarily cruel" I see no benefit to removing people on the sole grounds that you don't talk, or they don't give you attention, that's not all friendship is.

  • Would you say that Good Times (burger joint chain) is comparable to In-and-Out, What-a-Burger, and/or Fatburger?

I've only ever had In-and-Out, but in all honesty (please don't kill me) I like Good Times better, and found In-and-Out to be a bit overrated. When made right, Good Times is amazing, but there are so many locations that don't make it fresh, so it just comes out greasy m gets a bad rep. Anyone have good Good Times?

  • Where to start with Neon Genesis Evangelion?

Do I need to watch the series to understand the movie? I mostly just want to watch the movie, but I have no idea if the movie follows the same canon as the show, or even which came first. That being said, I realize there is more than one movie. Should I watch all the movies? There's a theme song, and that girl (I forget her name, but she wears red) that Ibalways hear about, and that's what I want to watch. The problem is that this is such a popular franchise that I'm not sure what the specific thing they are referencing is.

  • Who is this Egyptian woman?

I once heard of this "legend" or myth or rumor whatever it is. The story is that she wanted a pyramid or something (my memory is hazy on this) and she paid for it with sex, brick by brick. That's all I really remember. Does anyone know who she is, and which pyramid they're talking about?

  • How is the known universe so wide?

If the Universe is like 14 billion years old or so, and we accept the big bang theory, then one would think that a piece of matter from the big bang would take only around 14 billion years to reach the farthest extent of the expanding universe- making the radius only 14 billion light years long (if that piece of matter travelled the speed of light). Since the radius is much larger, then that matter must move faster than the speed of light, right? However, scientists say there isn't anything that travels faster than light. If there were, it'd probably be too fast for us to even know about anyways. So I guess my question is, how is the universe so wide? I'm clearly no astrophysicists or anything, so I just want to know the answer, I'm not trying to create a theory or anything.

  • Can I still eat this Cantaloupe after 2 days of heat?

I accidentally left an uncut Cantaloupe in the car for about 48 hours. The days were hot, and the car was parked outside getting a lot of sunlight. When I got it out, the car smelt like Cantaloupe and the bottom was sort of, wet. As if the Cantaloupe had seat, since there was no visible crack. I took it out n stuck it in the fridge. Is it still safe to eat?

  • Will a higher voltage lead to more power?

Okay, so I really don't completely understand electronics. Ohm's law is pretty basic and stuff, but I don't fully grasp the relationship between current, voltage, and power.

My primary confusion lies with The Tesla Coil. From my understanding, it increases voltage immensely, while keeping a relatively low current. So I figured that it would also increase the power to do work (like power a motor). However, when I share this thought, people say it doesn't do that. I just want to understand why not, and also, "what are the benefits of higher voltage?"

  • Which Haiku should I use?

This is the first assignment of a poetry class, so I know these are not going to be great. I will present three versions of the same Haiku, and I just need to know which is better overall, like which sounds better or conveys the story better. The title is "Beyond the Wall"

    We broke through the wall

    The siege lasted all summer

    They took their own lives

    We broke through the wall

    The siege lasted all summer

    But they were all gone

    We broke through the Wall

    Their lives and our glory

    Faded with summer

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I can only use one, and I fear that the last one only makes sense when you read the first one. I hope that is not true.

  • Are oceans "blue" because the water reflects the color of the sky?

Because if water reflects the blue waves in the visible spectrum, then it would not actially be clear right? Also, why do the bubbles and raging water of the rapids, waterfalls, rivers etc. appear white?

  • How do some animals detect Earth's Magnetic Field?

Like how come some animals can do it, while others can not? What adaptation is the cause for such a sense, and what do the animals use to do it? I've heard that it is not just birds, but canines like foxes and possibly even dogs can too. Why are humans unable to do this?

The goal of self improvement or the goal to help others?

By influential people, I mean those whom have made a huge contribution to society as well as those who inspired others to do so.

  • Is it possible to induce apoptosis in a cell?

Like could you probe a cancerous cell with a chemical formula that induces apoptosis, using a man-made virus or even nanobot? Or perhaps just make a man-made virus that targets only cancerous cells? I know one guy who actually achieved this, except his "virus" just killed the cells by venom. However, he was not authorized to test his organic "invention" on humans. This was an old story- I can not find any news of what happened to him or his work- I think he worked for the University of Washington State or whatever it is called. Anyway, I am getting ahead of myself- can apoptosis be induced? Do we know what causes it- like a gene or something? Anyway to turn on or alter a gene- ike how viruses do?
