1 AnswerEthnic Cuisine10 years agoCake or other recipe with Turkish product 'poppy crushing' (haşhaş ezme)?
I was curious to try and bought Turkish poppy crushing.
The label indicates that it is used as bread spread if mixed with honey and also for cakes.
Maybe you know some traditional cake recipe with this product? I think that it can be used much instead of tahini (sesame paste), but I would like to discover existing authentic recipes with this special product, those of cakes or any other dishes.

I am curious to know what does 'леблелия' mean.

1 AnswerLanguages1 decade agoIsn't brain drain of poorer nations a kind of legalized racist practice at large?
Harm for poorer countries is evident, as they use their limited resources for benefit of richer countries and disparities between rich and poor nations have lower chances to be closed; therefore main basis for stereotyping and unequal treatment of individuals from these nations persist too.
On the other hand, isn't it that, by importing professionals, a richer country:
- denies equal IQ potential of local population;
- receives political approval to do not allot needed resources 100 percent for development of local talented people and lower expenditure on education contributes even more to unfair competition with poorer nations.
- food technology of richer countries has higher risks to apply additives, which harms brain development, because harmful public effects will not be as evident as in the case of a more closed community.
Is it not the case that anti-racism towards a relatively small number of immigrant professionals and towards low-paid immigrant work force (used for simple jobs and lacking full civic rights) is exploited at large to hide a larger scale racism in fact, which targets people of poorer and richer countries as well?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWould it call National British Party racist if indigenous British people lived in hot climate & had dark skin?
I was surprised quite a bit today watching the end of the discussion broad-casted via BBC; not only because of the fact that it looked like a discussion of 1 person with 200 opponents with permission to interrupt the speech of this 1 by anybody... Any trial to mention contribution and interests of people of local origin was interrupted brutally and equated to promotion of racist white power policies.
Should people of local descent feel guilty that lower melanin content is needed in the skin in this climate zone for best functioning? Is it a fair ground to do not listen them?
3 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWhy term 'indigenous British islander' is appalling and 'indigenous Amazonian' is not?
I heard clearly that it is appalling to use the term 'indigenous British' during broad-casted BBC discussion today. Besides not the person who denied this term was called racist, but a person who used it.
I was really surprised because I adore ethnic diversity of the world, especially in terms of wonderful adaptations to most different environments, surprising expertise of communities in surrounding nature and respect expressed in traditions, technologies, language, folklore, etc. Proportion of people who are in a direct contact with nature for work reasons decrease with development of technologies, but people are not only workers, they ave their habitat, spiritual and emotional needs, and make impact on environment themselves depending on their relations to it. This relation is not a thing, which may be constructed during one day.
Was 'indigenous British' called appalling just because of colonization past?
I think that it is not fair to treat one ethnic cultures in one way and others in another eternally if the world finishes little by little with wounds of colonialism.
Or is it rather due to the fact that British economists do not see other ways for sustained development than steeling best workforce from other nations? Because are not able to educate it themselves? Because are not able to provide respectful and friendly working environment in a number of jobs (left for legal and illegal immigrants with poor protection of rights now)?
