How popular is Eurovision?
I'm an American who just found out about the Eurovision competition and it is insanely fun to watch. I was wondering how popular it is in Europe -- any ideas?
4 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoWhere did the seal balancing trick come from?
It is common to see seals balancing a ball in media, or at a zoo. Where did this trick come from? Who was the first person to try and balance something on a seal?
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment9 years agoAre male lions truly lazy?
Is there any support behind the idea that male lions are in fact just lazy, and lay around while the lioness hunts for them, or is that just a stereotype found in zoos?

And I have little to no problems with her, because I talk about what I feel and I'm not unconfident.
This section of Yahoo! Answers makes me laugh the most, and this is coming from a regular of Politics and Religion & Spirituality.
Real question: What do you think of the state of this section (Singles & Dating)?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow can one religious text be true and the others untrue?
This question is my reason for doubt. If human beings believe that one text is divinely inspired and the word of a higher power, then how can the other texts inspired by God be false? Most sacred texts dictates that the deity that is referenced within them is the one true deity, therefore, all other deities must be false. However, each of these texts claims to be the one truthful one. Why do people accept one text yet deny another? It seems as though all these texts have equal footing. It was written by someone through divine influence or divine intervention. As this is a personal anecdote, this fact can be neither proven nor disproven. If theories that contradict each other cannot be disprovenn, how do we discern which is the truthful?

I liked the version where you could create your own teams. Can you still play that one anywhere? Thanks.
2 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWhat is so appealing about "hardcore" music?
I've had a few run ins now with hardcore kids, and I've listened to hardcore music. How on earth do they enjoy this music? I mean, I went to a show and it was awful. Just so bad. Music was horrible, and not only because the system sounded horrible, but the band members had about zero talent. The vocals were screamed and yelled and everyone there seemed to be dancing like morons flailing their arms around. I know a lot of you may say "you're just hating", but no, this is exactly what it looks like to me. Can anyone explain to me what the appeal of this scene is?
6 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhy are dumb people not just throwing money at the problem?
These politicians need to understand that throwing money at political problems solves EVERYTHING. We have to fix it real good with that money by spending more of it.
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is the government taking away my right to oppress homosexuals?
Don't Ask, don't tell has been repealed. This ruins everything. I wanted to oppress homosexuals really really badly, but now they are in the army and it's not fair.

13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is a good dog to be paired up with a Standard Poodle?
My family and I have a big eight year old Standard Poodle. She is very energetic, and we can never seem to tire her out with exercise. However, we noticed she gets along great with other dogs. So, we started looking into other breeds of dog to pair her up with and give her an exercise buddy. Unfortunately, a member of the family is allergic to dog fur, so we can't have any kind of dog that sheds. I've been looking at dogs that don't shed, and I would like some outside opinions on the subject. It needs to be about her size or a little smaller, energetic enough to keep up with her, and not aggressive or jealous. I realize that's a lot of limitations, but I hope we can determine any breed possible.

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do certain Christians say they aren't religious?
I've met a few Christians that say they aren't religious (I'm sure people of other faiths say this, but only Christians have said it to me so far), but they believe in Jesus Christ. Why? The Definition of Merriam-Webster says that: "religious: relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity". That sure sounds like Christianity or any other religion.

6 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoWhat is your opinion on the show "Deadliest Warrior"?
I enjoy watching the show, and they do some nice comparisons, but in my opinion, they don't do enough to account tactics or training to really show a good comparison. I wouldn't how they would show that. What do you think of the show?

At room temperature, in solution, etc. Is there any difference depending on its state of matter or is there one that is always the most poisonous?
2 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoWhat happened to the word "hardcore"?
I can't refer to a band as "hardcore" anymore without someone thinking it's screamo or hardcore or -core or something. Hardcore meant hardcore punk, where'd that meaning go?
