iPhone - am thinking of getting one - anyone out there who has one able to let me know what they think of it?
I'm already with O2 and the package the iPhone comes with is similar to my own, so no concerns there, it is just whether the phone itself is worth it. Should I get one?
4 AnswersMobile Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhere can I find the software for an LG Viewty to download online?
The side slot of my laptop wont take the tiny CD that came with my LG Viewty, so I wondered if the software can be downloaded online? The LG site wasn't any help.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoWhere can I buy a mobile phone 'sock' in London?
I would like one of those little knitted covers for an ipod/mobile phone that I have seen. John Lewis do some disney ones (yuck!) and there are the ipod ones (but they come in a pack of 6). I have seen people who have their MP3 players or phones in nice stripey ones and the like, and wondered where I might get these. I have just got a very lovely LG Shine and don't want it to lose it's 'shine' in my bag.
1 AnswerMobile Phones & Plans1 decade agoMP3 virgin - some advice please...?
... I have never owned or used an MP3 player of any sort, and I now have a phone with one on and would quite like to use it. However, I have no idea how you download the music to the MP3 player. Two things really:
1. where online do I go for music (especially classical)
2. can I put my current CD collection on there, and if so, how do I go about that.
No mickey taking please - serious advice most welcome.
Thanks
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhat causes night sweats (I don't mean when it's hot)?
Sometimes at night I wake up and I am really sweating, my room's not too hot and I've not had a nightmare as far as I know so I don't understand why they happen. It isn't often but when it does happen it is very uncomfortable and disturbs my sleep. Does anyone know of a reason for night sweats - perhaps something stress/emotion related or perhaps a physical/medical cause?
18 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoCan anyone give me advice on LG mobile phones?
I am due an upgrade and there is a gorgeous looking new LG phone (LG Shine) due to be available to me from 22nd Feb. I have never had LG before (though I thought the Chocolate range looked fab) and was wondering what they are like. I'm particularly interested in:
Operating system - is it easy and logical?
Texting - again, is it straightforward?
Battery power - reasonable length of time?
Durability - does it go wrong easily?
Love to hear from people who have had LG phones.
4 AnswersMobile Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhere can I buy roller skates in London (not inline ones)?
I would love a pair of old fashioned roller skates (I think they are referred to as quad skates), either the ones that look like white ice skates or the coloured 70s roller disco look - (NOT the heavy duty plastic ones that look like inline skates, but with four wheels)

I've never had one before, and I was wondering how long they take to heal, I don't want to have to wear polo necks for too long!!
15 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoCan anyone give me any information on copyrighting artwork / card designs?
PLEASE READ ALL!!
I am beginning to do quite well with commissions for my artwork and requests for hand made cards, with interest from a couple of shops, not just friends. I want to set up my own little company doing this and am not sure how do go about making sure the name I use is not being used elsewhere in a similar field and, more importantly, how I go about copyrighting my card designs (and checking my idea hasn't already been done)? Any and all sensible advice very very welcome. Thanks!
5 AnswersDrawing & Illustration1 decade agoHow far should we tolerate rudeness?
I have a situation on which I would be interested in some opinions. As I tried to leave for work the other morning a large delivery truck pulled up in the road by my flats and reversed so it was blocking the exit from our car park (very out of order in the first place). After looking in suprise at the driver and frowning I finally went over and said "Excuse me, could you move I need to get out" - he smirked and said "you're not very polite are you?" - I had been perfectly polite. There were a couple more rude comments from him before he finally moved. I was so cross I took his number plate and reported it to his company. A couple of people at work thought I was very amusing for doing this and that I over-reacted, however, I felt that if you let this sort of thing go then these people will carry on being rude and it will just get more widespread.
What might you have done? Was I right or should I have let his rudeness pass?
25 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoCan I take up proof reading at home?
I am looking for some ways of making a bit of extra money and thought about proof reading. I don't have any specific experience, but have good grammar and spelling and a good eye. I was wondering if anyone knows how I might get proof reading work at home? Do I need to, or is it recommended that I, take any courses first?
10 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade agoWhat signs/notices/posters have made you laugh?
I saw a sign in a shop the other day that said "If you steal stuff you are MEAN" - it really made me smile, and reminded me of another I'd seen that said "Children who misbehave in this shop will be captured and sold into slavery" - what signs, notices or posters have you seen that have really made you laugh?
14 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoAdvice on sunscreen?
I have two bottles of sunscreen which are half full (from April, so not out of date). One is factor 25 and one is factor 30 and they are both the same brand - does anyone know if it would be OK to mix them together and use as if it was the lower factor (ie 25)? I am going on a holiday where I need to pack very small and don't want to take two bottles uneccessarily.
So, is this OK, or is it a complete no-no??
Thanks
20 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoInfo on holidaying in Morocco - can anyone help?
I am planning to go to Morocco in mid to late August and we have been reccommended a town called Essaouria by my boyfriend's brother. Naturally we'll get some advice/info on what to do in the area from him, but I would love to hear any reccommendations and stories on holidaying in Morocco from you all. Reasonably priced, good places to stay would be particularly useful. Thanks.
6 AnswersMorocco1 decade agoHas anyone had Laser Vasculight treatment for thread veins?
I am due to go for a consultation, and from what I have read it is painless and really effective. I have thread veins (I know, yuck) that are relatively fine, but across a couple of quite large areas on my legs. I would love to hear from anyone who has had the treatment and how they rate it. Thanks.
4 AnswersSkin & Body1 decade agoCan anyone give me advice on strengthening my fingernails?
My nails tend to be quite weak (bendy) and will begin to peel (rather than actually break) after a while. Also, my thumb and index fingernails have ridges that run across the nail and I'm not sure what has caused these. I am pretty good about using lots of hand cream and using my nail file correctly. Can anyone suggest what might cause the flaking and the ridges and any ideas of how to improve the condition of my nails?
21 AnswersSkin & Body2 decades agoCan someone explain this fashion curiosity?
I am somewhat confused by the trend (been around a while) of pushing up one tracksuit trouser leg - it seems to be a bit of a rap/hip hop thing. I can't help thinking it looks a bit ridiculous. Does anyone know when/where/why it originated, and what do you all reckon to it as a sartorial choice?!
14 AnswersFashion & Accessories2 decades agoHow do you tactfully let someone know that they smell?
There is a very lovely chap in my place of work who unfortunately has very bad body odour - he is always well presented but it smells like he has never washed a shirt. We would just ignore it, but it can make you fee quite queasy if you have to be close to him for any length of time. What can we do, we desparately don't want to hurt his feelings - but is honesty the best policy?
38 AnswersEtiquette2 decades agoCan anyone advise me on where to go to build my own website?
I am UK based and want to create a fairly straightforward website to showcase my artwork. I don't need to do anything very elaborate, would love to have my own email with the website address and don't want to spend too much - any suggestions
