  • Hey guys! Could you look over my UC essay?

This is prompt #2 by the way :) Thanks!

All throughout my childhood, I’ve been told one major thing: I was the smallest, the quietest, and the biggest push-over in the family.

I’ve never been a person to really speak out or say my opinion, even when sometimes people asked.

I grew up in a close-knit, conservative family, with only a few loyal companions outside my circle. While my friends and I make up the social outcasts at school, people often labeled us as the “dorks” or “loners”, since we only talked within our own private bubble. I consider myself the opposite of a butterfly – a wallflower.

After the closing ceremony at a camp program this past summer, a boy whom I made a brief conversation with during the week approached me. He made room for himself next me on the sandy beach and smiled, digging his fingers into the pebbles. He wanted to chat.

At first, I kept quiet. I had no desire to mingle with him, and since it was the last night, I figured I wouldn’t even see him again after the trip. I stared out into the orange sunset, trying to forget he was still there with me. I stared, and he talked. After a few minutes, he asked if he could have my number, and suggested that we should meet up sometime after camp and get to know each other better.

I was frightened, a bit offended, and utterly surprised. I turned my head right and left, begging for an excuse to get up and leave, any excuse to leave. I tried to talk, but all I could do was mutter. He could see through my panic and slowed down his talking. He explained that he was only asking, and then left.

It didn’t quite hit me until later that night what he had really wanted to say. Opportunity had rang the door bell, and I was scared to answer. I was a child by heart. I didn’t know what stood on the other side. But I did know it wouldn’t sit around forever.

As we packed up to leave the next morning, I took the initial risk to talk to him again. This time, I asked him for his number. To my surprise, he agreed. We stayed in close touch for the rest of summer.

That night, I realized what it really meant to reach out to someone new. Someone who I hadn’t known much about before and invite them into my circle. What I didn’t know about myself, he taught me. But even today, I’m still not sure what it was that gave me the courage to step back in and finish the game. Maybe it was the lack of enthusiasm in my life, or the fact that history was simply repeating itself. But one thing’s for sure, I learned what it actually felt like to walk out of my own comfort zone, and try something new – like make a new friend.

  • is it possible to win back a sagittarius guy?

a few days ago, i got into a pretty big fight with my boyfriend (sagittarius). it was about him not being able to take me to this dance that i really wanted to go to. he didn't know it was on that day, so he planned something else for that day in advance. then he told me he couldn't change this plans, and that he couldn't take me, etc. i was really pissed, and i yelled/told him to shut up (which i'd never do). then yesterday he told me he wanted to break up.

btw this entire fight was online.

also, before this, we've been having some smaller issues, since school started, we've both always busy and stressed, and had barely spent any "good bonding time" together. its been going on and off for the past two months or so.

i realized how much i loved him, and how if i did, i shouldn't care about whether or not he could take me. i really want him back. i feel like we were fated to be together. he really is my "perfect guy".

so is it possible? what do i have to do in order to get him back? and how long would it take?

  • damaged clothes problem?

i have a white jacket (made of cotton and polyester) and after washing it i saw little bits of cotton all over it. no they won't come off. i think it's from the actual jacket but i've tried many things but they still go away. i don't really know what happened to it though.

are the fibers in the cotton damaged or does ironing it help? what can i do to fix it?

  • why do high schools start so early?

i mean most of them start at around 7:00 to 7:45. why do they do that? i heard there's this thing that high schools should start before elementary/middle schools do but what's the point in that? most of the younger kids have more energy in the morning.

  • what would you do if the guy u like made out with another girl?

this guy i like, he doesn't know i like him, but i've liked him since april. i never showed him in any way how i feel about him, except i tried (and failed) 2 impress him. in class, he was always talking 2 this girl, and i think he likes her now. last wednesday (that was my b-day) i saw them in the hall. he was kissing/licking her face. everyone was watching, including me and my friends. i was so shocked, i refused 2 believe it. but i had 2. people started spreading rumors of how they are 2gether. they don't even "match". i like the girl looks better with her ex, just cuz. what should i do? i HAVE 2 WIN that guy. he is PERFECT 4 me. we are currently friends and understand each other. he helped me through my problems last year, and that is the #1 reason i luv him. i don't want 2 hurt the other girl, though. she's not my friend, but she is still nice 2 me and we talk once in a while. the problem i have with her is that she is popular and im not. please help.

  • ladies/girls, should u wear a bra or camisole?

this girl i know, she started developing like 2.5 years ago. her breast are pretty small, but i wouldn't consider her flat-chested. she wants 2 wear camisoles (they have a built-in bra) instead of regular bras, but i heard that this will lead her in2 developing "banana-like" breasts. does that mean that bras are better? she doesn't really care, and she doesn't feel uncomfortable without a bra. thank u.
