I want to ask if anyone in the Marion-Carbondale Illinois area knows of any organized nature walks? I can find NOTHING on line and was hoping someone from the area knew of an organization that does nature walks as a group. Can anyone help?

I am bringing home a new dog today. I know she is dog friendly but do not know how she is with cats. My cats do not like dogs. How would be the best way to introduce them?

What are your techniques? What is the most humane way to train a dog to walk on lead without pulling?

A dog that is fine with your family, no problem, but growls and sometimes bites other people that come to the house.

I have a 9 year old healthy,NOT de-clawed, Neutered, male cat and also two older spayed female cats, mother & daughter. The girls are fine. I got the male when he was 5 or 6 weeks old, found him in a park, starving to death. Took him home, vetted him, fed him good quality food. He gained weight nicely and grew well. We also had a dog with a high prey drive and the dog HAD to be kept separate from the cats. Always! The cats (all three) had a bedroom with a sun room attached. They were kept in there except for 2 or 3 hours a day when we would crate the dog and let the cats roam with us. He is treated nice, talked to, stroked and has always had a mean streak. He will attack the girls for no apparent reason. He will attack me for no apparent reason. He is a scared cat for some reason. I think his aggression is from fear but am not sure. I have not figured out what he is so scared of. Something as simple as my walking across the floor will scare him. Putting bags of cat litter in the storage space will scare him. Last evening I was in bed, looking at recipes and the cats were on the bed. He was laying the closest to me. Suddenly he just lunged at me and bit my arm. Another time I was walking away from him and he grabbed my leg and bit it. This is a cat that gets scared easily. Sometimes he will just go hide in the litter box, but sometimes he will bite and run. Any idea HOW to keep this cat from being so scared of everything?

especially when you are on a highway or expressway. i just take my foot off the gas till they get so sick of slowing down more they go around me.
