When you enter text that is too long to fit within the cell one of two things can happen. If the next cell over is blank, the text will spill over past the original cell boundary, or, if the next cell is full, the visible text will be truncated. What I want is for the text to be truncated, and not spill over, even when the adjacent cell is empty. I don't want to "wrap text." I don't want the cell width to expand to fit the text. I just want my empty cells to remain visible without spillover text hiding them. Can this be done?

My Chinese wife is trying to get a handle on what spelt grain is. Anybody know the Chinese word?

Looking at the song "I Am A Rock," by Simon and Garfunkle from a poetry perspective, it consists of 4 stanzas, each followed by the refrain "I am a rock; I am an island."

At the end of the poem 2 final lines are tacked on:

And a rock feels no pain

And an island never cries.

What is the literary term for these last two lines which are neither stanza nor refrain?
