  • Why do current players get more respect than the ones of the past by the fans?

Perfect example is all the Colt and Patriot fans claiming that their QB is the "best ever." It's like the Jordan junk in the NBA world, do current fans have no respect for Johnny Unitas (best QB ever) or Bill Russell (best Basketball player ever). It's not my opinion, it the opinion of players, for example Manning and Brady both have in the media expressed their respect for Johnny U, even to the point of Peyton begging the NFL to let him wear Johnny U's trademarked black shoes in the week following his death (they didn't let him) and Jordan answering a "Who's the best ever?" question with the answer, "The only man with 10 rings as a player, and 1 as a coach."

So what gives? Is it ignorance?

  • What NFL player will make the best future head coach? and why?

My pick would be Chad Pennington. He is the son of a coach and a student of the game. Chad is a team first kind of player who has success in spite of his physical limitations. He is known as being one of the more cerebral players and looked at as the undisputed leader of his team.

  • What is your fantasy for the 2007/08 NFL season?

Here's a homer question, one you need more wishful thinking and creativity for than reasons why it will/won't happen. Here's mine to use as an example....

Curtis Martin comes back to the Jets. He is the #2 back for most of the year behind Leon Washington, and inspires the Jets into the Super Bowl, and gets to start based on his years of service. On the first play he re-injures his knee and is carted off. The Jets fall asleep and go down to the Saints 24 to 7 at the half. In the third quarter after a couple of 3 and outs, one for each team, Curtis pulls an NFL version of Willis Reed and retuns to the game, shocking the Saints with a 54 yard TD run. The Jets roll off 24 unanswered points to win 31 to 24. Curtis is the SB-MVP with 124 yards rushing 2TD's, 47 yards receiving and another TD. He then tearfully retires on the podium holding the Lombardi trophey.

Don't blast others, just tell your story, most entertaining one wins.

10 Pts. to the first correct answer.

  • How can fans change College Football?

The fans want a playoff. The Big 10 and Big 12 do not. They will not change the system until the they are forced to. The only two ways to do it are by having Congress do something, which is very unlikely (college football should never be on the agenda, they have bigger fish to fry) or for the fans to do something drastic.

I propose that in the 2007/2008 season a total boycot of College Football. I personally pledge to never watch a single second of College Football till a playoff is instituted, who's with me?

  • Put these Presidents in order from "left" to "right"?

At the top of your answer put the most left on the political spectrum and the most right at the bottom, or vica versa. Just put R or L on the top to avoid confusion. I am putting them in no particular order.

    Ford

    Clinton

    JFK

    Reagan

    FDR

    Washington

    Lincoln

    Bush (43)

    Nixon

10 Points to the person who's ranking comes closest to the reality of the American political spectrum.

  • Wouldn't baseball be better served if?

    There wasn't a wildcard.

Either go with a bye for the top in each league, or 4 divisions of 4 teams each. Win your division, go to the show, nice and simple.

  • Does this change EVERYTHING about the World Series?

El Duque passes test: In the bullpen before Sunday night's game, Orlando Hernandez cut loose for the first time since injuring his right calf muscle running on Oct. 3 before what was to be his Game 1 start against the Dodgers in the NLDS.

Throwing for about 15 minutes from 50 to 60 feet, all from a stretch position, El Duque pronounced himself fit to rejoin the club for "the next round," which would be the World Series if the Mets come back to knock out the Cards.

"I'm pretty happy," Hernandez said. "I can come back. If the team has a chance in the next round, I will be ready.

"[When] is the World Series, in a week?" he asked, grinning. "I don't feel pain. I feel good."

I think it does, and that's some bad news for Kitten fans.

  • Were you aware of the real Chris Carpenter?

Chris Carpenter went 15 and 8 this season overall.

Vs. Teams over .500 he was 4 and 6.

Vs. Teams under .500 he was 11 and 2.

He did not face the Mets this season untill tonight.

The Mets were tied for the best record in baseball. I guess this means that they must have been over .500 (.599 to be exact, 97 and 65). Incidentally the Mets are also riding an 8 game winning streak.

I say 5, how many games will the Mets need to sent the Cardinals home?
