Trying to decide on a few girl baby names...!?
My husband and I are expecting and can't decide on a girl's name. We like names that aren't too popular or too exotic, but are still unique and sophisticated. I love Harlow, Suri, and cute celebrity names like that but obviously don't want to use them. :)
Please vote on these or give a few suggestions that you think we might like!!
Jacinda Pearl (or Jacinda June)
Rowan Pearl (or Rowan June)
Sophie Pearl (or Sophie June)
Teagan Pearl (or Teagan June)
Harper June
Our last name is Christensen if that helps, and Pearl and June are family names and we'd like to use them as middle names. I have a Greek/French background and my husband has a Danish/Irish background.
We have decided on Sawyer Scott Christensen for a boy...if that gives you insight into our tastes. Thanks!
32 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoIs it okay to name our baby the same as a friend's baby?
My husband and I are planning on starting to try to get pregnant in January so naturally, we've been throwing around baby names. I love the name Ryder for a boy. My husband loves it, too, but has a problem with the fact that his ex-coworker/friend has a son (1 1/2 year old) with the same name. They moved away almost a year ago and we never see them. His parents still live where we live so they will visit and we will probably visit with them eventually, but he only talks to this guy occassionally, and his wife and I leave little comments to eachother on myspace every few months. I don't even have her phone number. Her son is Ryder Michael and ours would be Ryder Scott. I don't see what the big deal is, but my husband says no. Say I do get pregnant and then find out we have a boy (I wouldn't ask her until I was sure)...should I ask her permission? Or should I just do it anyway if we still like the name?
53 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoCan we ask our roommate to get rid of his dog?
Well - he's technically not even our roommate. He's our roommate's boyfriend. We have 2 dogs - he has 1. His dog and 1 of our dogs don't get along - they could potentially really hurt eachother. So we keep them separate. His dog is lonely and whines when she's outside so they always bring her in, which means our dogs are always outside. We have to constantly check for where the dogs are before letting them in or out. Plus, his dog is only 9 months old and gets excited and has little accidents EVERYWHERE! My husband is constantly cleaning up little pee spots on the carpet. We only allowed her to stay because it was supposedly temporary - he was going to find a home for her. This was 2 months ago, and we found out yesterday through our other roommate that he's keeping her. I think if he wants her to stay - 1. We have to ask the landlord first and both of them have to be on the lease. 2. He needs to pay for professional dog training to help them get along. Help!
7 AnswersDogs1 decade agoRoommates and bills - should they pay?
My husband and I technically have 2 roommates, but they're not here that often. One of them works here but stays at her boyfriend's house (45 minutes away) a lot (she doesn't even have a bed here). I'd say she stops by 3 times a week - if that. The other one has her stuff here but isn't really living here - but when she does, her boyfriend (and his dog) are here. FYI - we already have 2 dogs so we have to "shift" them around so they don't fight. It's awesome. They've only been here to stay for a few days, two times, in the past month. Before that, they were never here because they were working back home, 4 hours away (they'll be here full time in January when school starts again). Anyway...I haven't asked them for any money for bills since I set everything up and I was here by myself then, but now they've been here on and off. How should we split the bills???
5 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoMarried men: I have a question for you!! Please help!?
My husband left for an off-district (he's a wildland firefighter) on Friday. His best friend (who happens to be my ex-boyfriend from high school) lives about 3 blocks away. His wife left to go visit her family on Friday. I was at home, minding my own business, sleeping, when my phone rings at 3:30 AM! It was my husband's friend...he's drunk. He's telling me that he just called to hear my voice, that he was just thinking about me...then he tells me he "really wants to see me right now." What do I do??? What did he want?? I told my husband...so now he's fuming mad and afraid he's lost his best friend. I am friends with his wife, but we're not that close...I'm assuming since she hasn't called me - that he hasn't told her what he did. He left my husband a voicemail apologizing...that he just wanted someone to talk to, playing it off like it was nothing. I was mad and really uncomfortable. Am I overreacting? Is this going to be blown out of proportion when my husband gets home?

1 AnswerMedia & Journalism2 decades agoWhy can't I just leave?
I have been married for 2 and 1/2 years, and I've been with my husband for 5 years. After being with him for this long I have realized that this isn't what I want. I've tried to leave him recently because of his verbal and emotional abuse, accusations of cheating and drama, but he always talks me back. I know he's just manipulating me into staying, but why can't I just leave?? He wants to try to work it out, promises that he'll go to counseling and everything will change...but I know that even if he changes the verbal/emotional abuse (which most likely won't change anyway), there are other reasons I don't want to be with him. I have big, big dreams, and he's not the type of man I want. Why do I feel I have to FIX this?? I'm not scared of getting divorced...I think I'd have a great life if I left (I'm only 25!!), but why am I afraid of hurting him, when he's been hurting me for 5 years??
