We were in the process of fixing the floor shift cable on an automatic 95 mercury sable. The problem was it was very hard to put into gear & when it was possible it wasn't completely in drive (you could feel the transmission hesitate at 35 mph). Anyways upon freeing the cable (kind of) it broke. Now we've learned it's a discontinued part & were having a hard time location it at a salvage yard as well. My next thought is to see what other years are compatible. My experience has been car manufacturers often use the same parts for a while on previous or more current models. Any genuine help would be appreciated.

Once you realize you have issues, how do you get past them? Issues like commitment, trust, etc. I want to know how to get back to good. I don't want my past to negatively affect my future any more than is really necessary. What can I do?
