My desktop that has an ethernet connection is fine...net and connection no probs...but my laptop keeps sayings connected but explorer wont work, neither will firefox or fulltilt poker...

I had a quick look on the net and I tried some suggestions...reboot a gazillion times, unplugged the modem and rebooted everything, laptop, desktop and modem...made sure all the windows updates were done...on my laptop I opened the command prompt and ping'd www.yahoo.com with no probs.

HELP!! Pls this is driving me insane! Any suggestions?

Okay, you know Facebook? Well I was looking on there to see if my brother's were on there so I typed in my surname and the name of my "long absent" birth mother turned up on there...

I haven't seen her since I was 7 months old so I really don't know her from Adam...just her name and that she apparently didn't feel the need to keep in touch with her 2 kids...what do you think I should do? Should I message her and see what if...or should I just not do anything??

Okay, I've just got a new Holden Barina Sedan (Aussie Car...sorta) and they've got the stock standard 15 inch rims on there at the moment. Does anyone know if 17 inch rim's will fit on there fine?

Also, the car is Jet Black...does anyone have any suggestions for some awesome rims that I can either buy in Australia or get delivered too Australia?

My computer blew up last night (a thousand bucks later!) I'm trying save for my Bali holiday (at least another thou) and my work car has just been allocated to someone else with a "bigger need" (I don't have a car...is there a bigger need that that?)...come on all you answer people cheer me up!

* The call from Australia will be from Mandurah/Rockingham in WA so I'll need an access number for around that area.

* Flat Rate (no off-peak/peak times)

* No Connection Fee

The ones I've been looking at are: Boost and Say G'Day. Anyone used these before?

I'm travelling to the US from Australia and was wondering about the voltage difference. I've got a power point adaptor (that says in small print on the back that it DOESN'T convert the power) so I was wondering if I'll need some sort of voltage convertor to be able to use my various electrical bits and pieces which are mostly 240v?I understand that the US uses 110v?

Also, just curious...If I plug my gear straight in without a voltage convertor will nothing happen or will I be buying a new camera charger? :P

We have to have lunch about 11am in the midtown area. We'll be watching the Macy Parade thing and then head towards our lunch reservation, so anything on the parade route would be awesome. We want to be eating by 11:30am and out the door by 12:30 as we have to get our stuff from the hotel and get to the airport by 1pm.

We're from Australia and we've never had a big traditional thanksgiving lunch/dinner (we've seen it on the telly though :P) so we really want the whole shibang, the turkey, the cranberry sauce everything...any ideas? Websites? Thanks everybody!

I believe I'm a good person. I'm never intentionally mean to someone, I drink but never to the point I've run across a sporting field naked, I believe you can follow whatever faith you choose, be with whomever you want regardless of their sex and couldn't care less what colour you are...why is it then, that according to most religions I'm going to hell just because I won't say I believe in God?

If there's a God out there? Great! Allah? Fantastic! Vishnu? Brilliant! Why though, when I'm standing at the pearly gates is St Peter handing the bathroom keys to anybody who repents on their deathbed and says the magic words "I believe in God"? And I'm hustled down the side stairs like an unwelcome in-law?

My girlfriends and I thought it would be heaps of fun to freak out our friends and family whilst on a Vegas holiday by sending them fake wedding pictures/video etc.

What we'd like, is everything from the ceremony, pictures/video/sermon/etc, but we don't sign the marriage license and hence aren't married...oh and we'd need the fake husband-to-be as well :P there's no guys with us on our holiday so we won't know any blokes in Vegas (unless I can talk one of the collar & cuff guys to help me out :P). We figured as a last resort we could just grab some poor unsuspecting lads and drag them to the nearest wedding chapel, but we figured it might be safer the other way. Once it's all over we want to email our family and friends the pictures and video "proof" of the happy event and see how many urgent phone calls we get the next day :P haha we know we're evil ;P

So my question is...does anyone have any idea if there's a chapel in Las Vegas that does a fake wedding ceremony?

I'd just like to point out that I'm from Australia and all the transit companies in one state are more or less linked to one another. The ones in California do not appear to be :P

Can someone please tell a nice simple way (that doesn't include hiring a car or being chauffered about) to get from the Anaheim Plaza Hotel in Anaheim to the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank (and return if you're feeling adventurous :P).

I could have sworn I saw a day tour from Anaheim to San Diego that included the San Diego Zoo and Sea World along with transportation from hotels in the Anaheim area...Anyone know where I might have seen this tour?

I'm heading to California at the end of the year and a bunch of my mates have asked me to pick them up some Mickey ears from Disneyland. Does anyone know approx how much they cost? I just need to know, so that I can grab some cash off them before I go and then I won't go broke visiting the Mouse House :D
