All these pictures share a common theme. What is the theme? This one should be pretty easy.

You wouldn't believe how many people get this wrong. Are you one of them?

A deaf man is about to leave his home to go out for a walk.

It's early morning- he hasn't been outside, yet.

He hasn't looked out his window and all the curtains and blinds are closed.

He hasn't even turned on the television.

He lives alone except for a pet dog.

As he leaves, he grabs an umbrella because it is raining. How did he know?

A deaf man is taking a walk in a park. He turns around because he notices someone is following him. How did he know?

The common suggestion would be to use italics. I have a very different idea.

Here's my idea.

You know how there are three options on how the texts could be arranged on the page? 1) They can be aligned along the left margin. 2) They can be aligned along the right margin, and 3) They can be centered on the page.

I thought that: 1) The regular parts of the story can be aligned on the left margin. 2) Thinking, remembering and telepathic conversations can be aligned along the right margin, and 3) Dreams and flashbacks can be centered on the page.

To make a transition from, for example, a flashback to the normal story, there would be a quadruple space in between them.

I also thought that things you hear on the radio can be written in italics. Things on TV can be written using bold print. Phone conversations can be written, underlined.

Additionally, each character will have his/her own texts written with a different font color and style. This will make it easier to tell who's doing what or who's talking. It would also be like each character has their own written form of "theme music."

Of course, you should have an area before the story that will explain all this to the readers. There would also be a legend that indicates which font color and style belongs to which character (for a quick reference).

So, what do you think of my ideas?

I wonder if it's true about too many authors writing the same story/book. Can a team of writers write one book? Is that possible?

I'm hoping maybe this may start a new trend.... a team of writers collaborating to author a single book. I'm thinking if one has writer's block the rest of the team can come up with ideas.

It would be interesting to see if it's even possible and watch the process as it unfolds. What would the finished product look like?

Sarah and Jasmine are walking along a path together. Sarah always walked in front of Jasmine and Jasmine always behind Sarah. They were never more than a few feet from each other during their entire walk. At the end of their walk after a few hours, Jasmine has walked 2 miles further than Sarah. How did this happen?

There was evidence that the shooter shot him from outside his car. So, that rules out suicide. How did the shooter kill his target?

An old man is walking in a park and gets tired. He finds a bench and sits down to rest. Soon, he dozes off and falls asleep. He wakes a couple hours later and tries to get off the bench but can't get up. Why isn't he able to stand up?

A gardener has a 60 ft. piece of lumber. He wants to make a rectangular flower bed with the area of 216 sq. ft. out of that lumber. What are the dimensions of the flower bed? All 4 sides will be cut from that one piece of lumber.
