My iphone keeps playing my music outlod even when i have headphones in , the headphones do work since ive been using them for the pat 4 months on my iphone and On my laptop Any way i can fix that i cant restart my iphone because the lock button wont work and i have tried squeezing it

Okay i have an iphone 3g and the button at the top right wont work ( im not sure what the buttons called) and this Button enables you to turn it off ! and lock your iphone , It also plays my music outloud with headphones in So thats why i wanted to turn it off....Please HELP
