That he didn't pick Romney as his running mate based on his tax returns? I keep seeing this listed on Y/A as the reason McCain didn't pick him, but I'm unable to find where McCain gave that as his reason.

I recently had one "person" on here tell me that it's easier to get a handgun and hollow points online than it is to get viagra. I'm just wondering if anyone (since he/she couldn't) can fill me in on this site where I can just click and get a gun and bullets without a background check, worrying about customs, etc?

I don't trust my neighbor. I hear that my neighbor is talking about buying a gun. I go next door with my gun, knock, then shoot him when he opens the door so that he can't have the opportunity to buy a gun which he may use on me in the future. I then spend money that I have to borrow to take care of his widow and kids. Is this good home defense policy, or should I have waited for him to make an actual threat before killing him?

Make securing our borders the top national security priority.

* Guarantee our intelligence community’s efforts are directed toward legitimate threats and not spying on innocent Americans through unconstitutional power grabs like the Patriot Act.

* End the nation-building that is draining troop morale, increasing our debt, and sacrificing lives with no end in sight.

* Follow the Constitution by asking Congress to declare war before one is waged.

* Only send our military into conflict with a clear mission and all the tools they need to complete the job – and then bring them home.

* Ensure our veterans receive the care, benefits, and honors they have earned when they return.

* Revitalize the military for the 21st century by eliminating waste in a trillion-dollar military budget.

* Prevent the TSA from forcing Americans to either be groped or ogled just to travel on an airplane and ultimately abolish the unconstitutional agency.

They are able to vote in ways that give them inside information on policies that will effect their investments (for the better or worse) and therefore are involved in a form of legislative insider trading. Should they be allowed to do so or should they have to sell these holdings when elected?

However, when was the last time government was worth the price? What will it take for people to move away from the "two parties that are really one" system?

"Middle-class families shouldn't pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires," Obama said Monday. "That's pretty straightforward. It's hard to argue against that."

The data tell a different story. On average, the wealthiest people in America pay a lot more taxes than the middle class or the poor, according to private and government data. They pay at a higher rate, and as a group, they contribute a much larger share of the overall taxes collected by the federal government.
