I was raised Jewish Modern Orthodox. I went to Yeshiva for 9 years. I know the Bible in Hebrew, and can speak it semi fluently. I hated every second of it. I'm an agnostic, leaning on Atheist. I don't think there's a God, but I can't prove it either way. In the case that there is a God, he most certainly not the image that we are most familiar with. Organized religion is shit. All of it. I am an Eagle Scout and I take that very seriously. I have my own code of Morality, which I feel is more moral than the bible, and I try to remain true to at all times. I do charity work several times a week. I volunteer at a soup kitchen. I am also working to complete high school at home. I am almost done. I am a total nerd. Pokemon, WoD, MtG, all sorts of stuff. I IM. If you like, add me. I like talking to new people.

  • How should i get ready for the Marines Initial Strength Test?

Okay, so I've basically decided to join the USMC. I haven't signed a real contract yet, but I went through MEPS. I got a 95 AFQT on the ASVAB and I passed the physical. So more or less, I'm committed. I realize I COULD leave, but i don't intend to.

My entire life, I havent really been part of an intensive physical fitness program. I keep in shape by walking everywhere (between 7 or 8 miles on an average day. oftentimes its more.) I didn't really consider myself fat because I'm well within my weight bracket (5'10", 172 lbs). But I didn't realize how weak my upper body was when I tried to do some pushups and fell flat on my face after one or two. running i did a little better at; close to a quarter mile. facing the specter of boot camp, i am kind of legitimately concerned.

How do i condition myself to do more? Should I force myself to a goal, no matter how much it hurts? (say... 20 push ups everyday, until it becomes easy) or gradually build up to it (my arms are giving out at 6... 8 tomorrow, then)?

Running presents more difficulties. drag myself the entire mile and a half until i can do it no problem? break it into chunks of say... half miles and take breaks? or work up to half mile, taking it in amounts i can stand? Someone suggested to me to run up and down the block 3 times, then add once more in a week, then another. what about this suggestion?

How should I supplement these exercises? Is weight training unreasonable? How often should I run? once a day? once every two days? once in the morning and once in the evening? Should i start keeping track of my calories? Should i eat more to fuel all this activity? should i be eating anything in specific?

The marines also have PT, which stands for poolee training, twice a week. im an totally unsure of what to expect there. perhaps it is all physical training or some sort of psychological training to prepare you somewhat for bootcamp (addressing people of higher rank as sir, for instance, or cleaning out trashcans or some such thing).

If anyone could shed some light on PT, that would be helpful. If someone could advise me how to train and prepare, that would be more helpful still.

  • i cannot log into yahoo messenger. can someone please tell me how to get Y! messenger authentification?

I changed my password perhaps two days ago. It warned me i would have to regive permission to various webapps again, but i thought i could do this easily.

yahoo messenger has not refused to allow me to log into my primary account. it logs me into my secondary account perfectly fine. it also logs my primary account into the new messenger webapp fine, as well. my primary account logs in fine to yahoo's other facilities as well. In fact, i am using it to ask this question.

I have followed every asinine suggestion they have given me; i redownloaded messenger and internet explorer (two programs i don't use. I access yahoo messenger via a third party chat client, but its not working with messenger proper), i checked connection preferences.

I know whats the matter. my secondary account still has its "yahoo messenger authentification" under "account info --->Manage Apps and Website Connections"

my primary account somehow lost this when i changed my password. someone please tell me how to get it back. please.

  • Spiritually speaking, how can sex be premarital if I never get married?

How about if I get divorced, and then have sex? Is that postmarital sex? What happens if the aforementioned postmarital sex is with my former spouse? Are circumstances different if we get remarried? What is the sex called? Its not postmarital marital anymore. Is it... Intermarital? Or would that be the term for a sex between people of two different faiths, like intermarriage? Or maybe intermarital could refer to sex between two people who are already married to different people?

Speaking of adultery, is it adultery if you have a threesome with your spouse and another person at the same time? Are circumstances different if you and your spouse trade with another couple, and your all in the same room? What if your spouse has a cuckold fetish? She wants you to have sex with other people.

  • Are all narrative works written in the past tense?

I know that most works are, but I'm aware that some authors write in the present tense or else screw with your head by using multiple tenses to show how a character has lost his sense of time.

But this is for homework, and that's a rare technique at best. So for the grade, are narratives written in past tense?
