did you know that Science can re-create the "feeling" some people get when they think "ghosts" are around?
http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2014-11/epf...
From the article;
"Ghosts exist only in the mind, and scientists know just where to find them, an EPFL study suggests. Patients suffering from neurological or psychiatric conditions have often reported feeling a strange "presence". Now, EPFL researchers in Switzerland have succeeded in recreating this so-called ghost illusion in the laboratory. "
4 AnswersParanormal Phenomena7 years agoIf any of you actually believe that "psychic" powers exist, would you watch a short video?
Now, I know most of you hate the idea that psychic powers aren't actually real, but that's the undeniable fact.
This video, on you tube, will show you what these charlatans are doing, and how they're doing it.
Cold reading, as it's known, is actually quite simple, and with a bit of practice, you could do it too. No "supernatural" aid or skill required.
Go ahead, take a look. Unless facts frighten you that is...
3 AnswersPsychology7 years agoIsn't it nice that islam continuously shows us it's true colors?
Recently, in Malaysia, a court ruled that only muslims may use the word 'allah'.
Of course, the ruling didn't specify what punishment could ( and would ) be meted out if someone does, but I think we're all familiar enough with this disgusting death cult to know it won't be a simple fine, don't we?
And if you think this is a first for this cult, it's not. It's already punishable by death in 4 countries (I'll let you guess which) for a non-muslim (infidel) to use the word allah in any context whatsoever.
So, thank you muslims, the more you showcase the reality of your religion, the more people are disgusted with it, and avoid it like a rotting carcass...
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy is America getting dumber and the rest of the world getting smarter?
One word; Religion.
While America is seeing a rise in religion, it's aggregate IQ drops.
The rest of the world is turning it's back on childish superstition (religion) and consequently the aggregate IQ is rising.
This is true of any nation that replaces Science, Reason and Logic with mmyths and fairy tales (islamic nations are a fine example of this).
Don't take my word for it, this article says it clearly (referenced with many studies and facts);
http://www.alternet.org/education/results-are-amer...
Don't just dismiss the studies, READ the article. I know facing facts and evidence is not something you theists do, but try.
If some of the big words are too complicated for you, just come back and I'll try to clarify them for you using small words and Simpson's references. I'd hate for you to have to furrow your brows in a vain effort to understand something that is clearly, out of your reach.
11 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoChristians, how many failed biblical prophecies do you simply ignore?
Lets examine some shall we? I know you don't like being reminded how flawed your "perfect" bible or you god is, but it's good to be reminded what a failure your book is from time to time.
"Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee. And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am the LORD: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it. Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia. No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years. And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries."
I love this one, because it is such a failure. Egypt has NEVER been a desolate waste, nor has there ever been a time when people did not live there. Nor has any of Egypt's cities been desolate for 40 minutes, let alone 40 years.
Ezekiel 30:12 states;
"I will dry up the streams of the Nile and sell the land to evil men; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. "
This has never happened. Surprise, surprise...
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoChristians, remember three years ago today? Judgement day?

"The bible GUARANTEES it!"
And you wonder why we consider you to be little more than mental defectives?
This is why.
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoTheists, why would you need blasphemy laws?
You know, the ones making blasphemy illegal. Isn't your god capable of not getting his feelings hurt?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoFellow rationalists, to what do you attribute the belief in creationism?
Personally, I attribute it to a profound lack of education. Anything that seems to be the least bit based in reality, is rejected out of hand by these people.
For some bizarre reason, they want to hold on to ignorance and mythology, rather than reality and facts.
But why?
Isn't learning and seeking out facts so much better than having lies spoon fed to you?
Or, is there a deeper psycological issue at work here?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy are christian leaders such hypocrites?
Yet another conservative christian congressman caught with his pants down.

Why is it that those who push their morality the hardest are the least able to live by their own rules?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy do christians call the internet "the tool of the devil"?
Is it because, according to this article, the Internet "decreases the chance of religious affiliation"?
Personally, I think it's because the Internet, as an excellent learning tool, helps people see more than just one argument. And when that happens, they learn. And when people learn, they begin to see religion for the money making scam that it truely is. It provides nothing, and takes everything.
People are not so easily fooled anymore, which is why religion is dwindling. Is it solely because of the internet? Probably not. It likely has more to do with better education and more emphasis on critical thinking.
All of which is a VERY good thing!
Hopefully, by the time my children are grown up, we will see a vast decline in religion. Maybe even a major shift away from it.
That would make me very happy!
