  • Is this narcissistic behavior?

My dad asked to take my child to a international competition out of state the week of my due date. He lives in a different state to begin with and thus does not see my child often and when he is in town he does not really spend any time with any grandkids unless in a group setting. I said "no" because my child is not ready (5 years old). I did not even begin to elaborate that maybe, shorter outings when he's in town would be a good stepping stone or that maybe if he actually spent time with his grandchildren maybe his requests for out-of-town trips would be answered the way he'd like. After I told him no he said that I was the one who wasn't ready and hung up the phone. Is this narcissistic behavior?

  • "05 Toyota Corolla bumper/bumper shield? crack?

We hit a raccoon (huge, not a scrawny one, more like the size of a smaller LARGE dog) and the bumper or bumper shield (I don't know the difference, but it's the part that hangs below the bumper) cracked and partial hanging. Any idea what $$$ I'm looking at spending?

  • Obama and Iraq (or Chicago)?

This was sent to me by a cousin (who's fiancee is a Chicago Police Officer). Please, Democrats and/or Obama supporters, try to explain this away:

    Pull out of Iraq?

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago!

    Body count:

    In the last six months:

    292 killed (murdered) in Chicago;

    221 killed in Iraq.

    Chicago.... Who Runs it:

Senators: Barack Obama & **** Durbin

    Rep: Jesse Jackson Jr.,

    Illinois Gov: Rod Blogojevich,

    Illinois House leader Mike Madigan,

Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley) .....our leadership in Illinois all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.

Of course, they're all blaming each other!

Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look 'em up if you want).

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois..

And he's gonna 'fix' Washington politics !!!!

  • Anyone near burn out?

Democrats, Republicans and Independents, are you at the burn out stage regarding all the candidates you will have to choose from? Do you believe that we need everyone to get out of Washington and start fresh (within your own party as well as outside of your party)? What is your party/voting style? What has caused you to be p*ss*d off at this whole 2008 election cycle? This week's "rescue" plans, are they the straw that is breaking the camel's back when it comes to your views on this year's political/election cycle?

Now that Gov. Palin has a real potential of being the VP, does that make you hopeful for more respect and focus on truly providing the proper resources and education for children with disabilities?

  • To induce or not induce?

I am in the middle of my second pregnancy. My first was normal but FAST and I didn't start feeling contractions until transition. Now I have moved and live about a half an hour away from the hospital. My doctor suggested that I consider induction because of how fast my first delivery was and how far I am from the hospital (she also said that after the first delivery, induction isn't bad - I wasn't induced with my dd). I do understand the pros and cons of induction, but given my history, what would YOU choose?

  • What do you think of this joke that was forwarded to me?

A woman (married three times) walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding.

'Of course, madam,' replied the sales clerk, 'exactly what type and color dress are you looking for?'

The bride-to-be said: 'A long frilly white dress with a veil.'

The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, 'Please don't take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married the first time---for those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?'

'Well,' replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's directness, 'I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first-time bride. You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into our hotel.

My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again.'

'What about your third husband?' asked the sales clerk.

'That one was a Democrat,' said the woman, 'and every night for four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but you know ... nothing ever happened.'

  • Lack of appitite and headaches during pregnancy?

I'm on my second pregnancy and of course, it is different than the first. I have to force myself to eat since I don't seem to have much of an appetite (except for maybe popcicles and chewing gum) and I have horrible headaches about every third day (I'm sure they partly are because I work in a daycare). I'm in my third month. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Protecting men's chastity?

For the other women out there, do you feel responsible for protecting and defending male chastity by not dressing in a manner to promote lust? Do you feel it is wrong to expose your belly (womb) which is the most delicate and special part of who you are and your womanhood?

By the way, I am a woman who believes in dressing modestly for many reasons, including to help men avoid lust.

  • Obama's EXTREME abortion stance?

What is your opinion about Obama's extreme abortion stance (he promised in the past it would be his first priority is elected president to outlaw any State's Rights laws pertaining to abortion (which includes overriding laws in most states that require sanitary abortion clinics, therefore putting even more women in life/death situations for themselves, overriding parental consent, allowing partial birth abortions - where the child is born butt first, then the child's brain is suctioned out of its head - for any reason including the mother's "mental" health, etc.)? He stated to Planned Parenthood this plan and his staunch support almost a year ago.

  • What do you think?

A baby boy is born mutilated and destined to die within hours if not medically helped. The doctors and nurses leave him by himself to die on a surgical table (meaning they physically leave the room with him in there by himself). This has happened numerous times in recent years.

Hillary Clinton voted that this activity on the part of the doctors and nurses should be made illegal (as well as many of her peers on both sides of the aisle for obvious reasons). In the Illinois General Assembly at the same time similar measures were up for voting and Obama voted against making this failure of the doctors and nurses illegal, thus stating that this living, breathing, human being can be left to die without any medical help or care.

In case you're wondering, this child was a survivor of a botched abortion yet was strong enough after being treated chemically to actually make it through the birth canal and breath on the other end.

  • Space saver bunk beds?

We're thinking about dishing out $1500 on a space saver bunk bed (it has a ladder, stairs with built-in drawers for each stair that when taken out the drawer can hold the weight of an adult male, a bookcase next to the stairs, under the top bunk, another set of drawers and a desk on the opposite side of the bunk from the stairs). Does anyone have experience with this type of bunk? Do you think it is worth the money?

  • Earnest money, employment verification, etc.?

My husband and I are in the process of buying a home (it's under construction in a new development). He's a teacher and a performer. He has not received a contract to renew his teaching position for next year (as far as he knows, they haven't handed them out, but he thinks he'll be invited back). However, if he is not invited back or chooses not to return (due to some serious scheduling conflicts between his teaching and performing - and performing is paying better), but will still be on the payroll at the school until mid August, how does that affect employment verification? I am so worried about fraud/lying that I am freaking out about this. We also have a contingency clause regarding the earnest money pertaining to being approved. So, here are my questions

What will they ask for employment verification (they'll be verifying before the end of the school year, but after contracts should be out and returned signed) from the business office at the school?

  • Warning Signs?

I have a house being built and was wondering if anyone believes in "signs" pointing toward or away from something. First, I love the community this house is in, but am wondering if I should ask for an already built house and have them stop working on the custom designed house I have signed the contract for (they have done this in the past with other residents when emergencies came up and residents needed a place sooner than their house would be available). Also, there is just the framing right now, all the choices/customized options have not been installed yet. There is also a house that's relatively the same price that is available immediately. So here the warning "signs" are for my custom home:

My attorney is called up for Iraq starting right around the closing date

My employer won't be available to verify employment around the closing date (she'll be out of town on vacation)

One of the construction workers fell on his head when putting up the framing.

When walking through, the temporary front door had the word "evil" written on it.

Not to mention, who knows how the mortgage industry will change within the next month and a half (standards seem to be getting tighter weekly, yet I still, as of today, qualify).

What would you do? Ask to move in earlier into the already built home, or take the risk of something else going wrong? Would you take these "signs" as a warning or just as an obstacle? I'm usually not superstitious, but this is my first home and well, I'm already overly worried, having this added to my worries, well, just doesn't seem to help
