  • How do you add an interest page as an admin on a Facebook event after it's created?

I created an event on Facebook and have added individual profiles as administrators of the event, but I'd like to add an interest page as an admin. I know you can do this if you create the event while using Facebook as the interest page, but is there a way to do this after the fact?

  • Is there a law in Texas similar to California's Labor Code Section 1101?

    http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/cacode/LAB/1/d2/3/5/s1...

    Lab. Code § 1101

No employer shall make, adopt, or enforce any rule, regulation, or policy:

(a)Forbidding or preventing employees from engaging or participating in politics or from becoming candidates for public office.

(b)Controlling or directing, or tending to control or direct the political activities or affiliations of employees.

Does Texas have a law similar to this?

  • What is the name of the Soviet monument that was never built? It was a giant rotating structure?

There was a famous proposition to build a huge monument to the new communist Russia in the early 20th century. It consisted of a rotating pyramid, cube, and sphere that acted as a clock. It was supposed to be bigger than the Eiffel Tower, but it was never built. What is it called?

  • What do you think of the Lubitel line of TLRs?

I'm a photography student looking at buying my first medium format camera. My budget is $0-500, but I would be really happy with something below $200. I'm not ready to spring for a good camera, like a hasselblad 501cm, etc.

I like the idea of a TLR because they tend to be less expensive (my key variable). I've thought about a Holga 120n because of the really low price, but I want more control than it offers. So in my search, I ran across the Lomo Lubitel line, which offers a lot more control but has a good price, depending on the model. I've looked at the Lubitel 2, the Lubitel 166B, and the Lubitel 166+ (the 2008 remake of the older Lubitels including more modern features).

Which would you recommend? The pros of the 166+ compared to the others don't really apply to me much, except the closer focus option (and the fact that it's new, thus much more likely to completely work). The Lubitel 2 and Lubitel 166B seem to sell at around the same price on eBay ($50-80), and the Lubitel 166+ is $350.

Thoughts? Any other medium format cameras that are not completely toy cameras but not pro price, either?

    Thank you!!!

  • Creative solutions to a screen printing problem?

I'm going to a job interview in a little more than a week to apply to work at a summer art camp for children. I'm mainly a photographer, but I also decided to screen print a graphic onto the front of my portfolio/resume folder to display my screen printing skills.

I have no idea why, but the white ink I used keeps coming off onto my fingers when I touch this. I can imagine this being a giant problem at my interview if my interviewers accidentally get ink on their clothes and thus hate me forever, or if my portfolio ends up looking "dusty" by being handled too much.

Does anybody have any creative solutions to this problem? Here are a couple I've thought of:

--Spraying a matte polyurethane spray onto the cover that will hopefully seal it

--Buying some very thin Japanese paper and gluing it to the cover and coating it with gelatin to make it semi-transparent.

Any other ideas? I'm freaking out because I thought this screen printing would be a great idea. Now I just hope I can keep it without wrecking my chances.

  • If I'm upgrading from Rebel XSi, will I dislike the low burst rate of the Canon 5D Mark II?

I think my parents are getting me the 5D Mark II for Christmas, and I'm wondering if the 3.9 fps is a major con of it. Also, is the AF system all that bad? I've been reading some bad reviews about the AF in particular. I'm a sophomore art major who plans to pursue fine art photography indefinitely (just to give you some background if that will help you answer my question better!)

should I wait for the 5D Mark III? (I really don't want to, but if you think it's worth it, I'll take that into consideration!!)

  • How safe is Gulf Shrimp in terms of methylmercury and PCBs?

I'm interested in hearing how safe shrimp is compared to cod, orange roughy, farmed salmon, wild alaskan salmon, etc.

Is there an online guide that lists all fish according to their safety, especially in terms of PCB levels?

I live in Corpus Christi, Texas, so is there an online source that can tell me about methylmercury/PCB levels in the Corpus Christi Bay?

    Thanks!!

  • How safe is Alaskan Pollock? Does it have a lot of PCBs/mercury?

I've been reading a lot lately about the amounts of PCBs found in large fish and farmed fish. How does Alaskan Pollock rank compared to other fish like mahi mahi and salmon? Is Alaskan Pollock usually wild-caught or farm-raised? Is there an online resource I can find about the mercury/PCB levels in this fish?

  • Which degree is more helpful if you're pursuing a career as an Art Director?

A BFA in Art (a specific area like painting or photography) or a BA in Art?

This website says that people with a BA earn more as an Art Director than people with a BFA do, but I find that hard to believe. Anyone have experience with this?

  • What is the public transport like in Houston, Texas compared to San Antonio, Texas?

I'm familiar with the public transportation in San Antonio, but I'm wondering what it's like for Houston. I think San Antonio's is really great... I've studied the maps a lot and determined you can pretty much get anywhere in SA without a car if you just have enough time. What is your opinion of the system in Houston?

  • Are these medicines OK to take together?

I just found out i have mono, allergies, and a rash from my antibiotic reacting with the mono (i stopped taking the antibiotic), so I'm taking all of these medicines... tell me if they're ok together...: vicodin (for the mono fever and pain), claritin (for the rash), zyrtec (for my allergies), tussin DM (for my sore throat)

i just got the prescription for the vicodin today, and i stopped the DM this morning in case it was a bad idea to take that with the vicodin. any suggestions? also, does the hydrocodone in the vicodin act as a fever reducer? or is that mainly the acetaminophen's job?

    thanks!

  • What will happen if my friend puts a Kellogi seahorse in a 5-gallon tank?

a friend of mine asked me to take her shopping yesterday for a seahorse... she's never had a saltwater aquarium. the guy at the store said we could put one kellogi seahorse in a 5-gallon tank if we put no other animals in there... the seahorses at the store are like 1.5" long. is that ok to put that seahorse in that tank? everywhere online says you have to have a 55-gallon tank, but those sites also say that these seahorses grow to be 11" long!! will that happen to her seahorse?

    here is the quote:

"Your church sentenced and potentially killed millions in Africa 9 months ago when the pope decided to open his big fat mouth and decided it was a virtuous thing to tell big fat lies about condoms and aids. Hope you sleep well at night."
