  • Does anyone know this movie?

This is going to be very vague, but I remember watching a movie about 8 or so years ago and I'd really like to find it again.

I remember the main character was a teen-aged girl, and she was out rollerblading in her neighborhood when she was hit by a car (or she maybe just fell over, some sort of accident occurred anyways). She was taken to the hospital, and when she had a blood test, her blood came out greeny-blue. I think witches were also involved.

It was most likely a children's movie or something of the sort, as it was played in the afternoon during school holidays.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

  • Dog Stool Sample Question?

    Heya,

This morning I noticed that my dog was pooing blood with a very strong stench. I immediately took him to the vet, where he got antibiotics, an injection, new food etc. She also asked me to come back in with a stool sample for her. Now, I've only just gathered the sample as he's only just needed to 'go', so my question is how do I store this sample overnight, as because of the time the vet has closed and won't be open again until 9am. I've got it in a small plastic container, and am wondering if I should keep it in the freezer or fridge overnight?

    Any help would be lovely!

    Thanks :)

  • Dog Aggression Question?

I have a 2 1/2 year old Border Collie who was recently neutered (his stitches were taken out last thursday). Over the last few days, there has been a huge amount of aggression towards him from most dogs that we pass in the park. He is almost always on a leash when there are other dogs around, and we usually stick to ourselves as there are always other dogs off their leashes and playing (very nicely, I might add) together. As expected, every now and then a dog will run up to us and sniff etc. which we are fine with, but most recently dogs have been coming within a meter or so of my dog and just going CRAZY. Baring teeth, growling, and needing to be held back by their owners. While this is happening, my dog just takes up this 'stance' and stares at the dogs doing this, at times wagging his tail a bit while this other dog is going crazy. I really do not know what to do. I really believe my dog is 'provoking' this, as these dogs have all been playing nicely with all of the other dogs and then they see my dog standing there and staring at them all and they just seem to snap.

Sorry this is a little jumbled. It's quite hard to explain the whole situation as it's really quite random. Nothing like this has happened before he was neutered. He's perfect around humans and plays really well with female dogs. He even has a few male dogs that he can play well with. Also, the reason he is on the leash a lot is because of his operation, as he is very active and we didn't want him harming his incision/stitches, but since this aggression towards him has started we've been keeping him on the leash the majority of the time.

Any advice, help or hint would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Spanish Rap Song Help?

Ok, so there's this song that I hear in the bars and clubs in Madrid regularly. It's quite a popular rap song, that sounds basically like a 'recipe', just words more than sentences. I've always been a little cut when I hear it so I never pick up any of the lyrics. I do remember that they repeat the word 'guapa' a lot.

I heard it first on the show Eligeme, as it played when a contestant came down on the elevator and the host Carlos Baute started rapping the song with the contestant.

I know that's barely any help, but hopefully someone out there knows what I'm talking about, or maybe has suggestions of spanish rap songs that I could look into.

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Spanish help?

Is the correct way for saying 'whatever will be, will be', 'Lo que será, será' or just 'que será, será'? Are there any other ways of saying whatever will be, will be (or any phrase with a simillar meaning)? Are the accents correct?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • What are some typical, 'touristy' Spanish gifts/souvenirs?

I am leaving Spain after living here for the year and with only a week left, I am panicking about gifts to take back for friends and family back home (New Zealand).

Any suggestions for typical Spanish souvenirs/gifts or goods would be much appreciated! I've already bought some Fans, Castañuelas, Violetas and a few letter openers. I am also planning on picking up some bull soft toys (cheesy, I know!) and some Turron but I need some more suggestions as I am quite stuck for ideas. I am heading to El Rastro this sunday so I plan to do abit of shopping there, but I also have all of Monday free to look around for stuff too.

I am really only looking for things that are typically spanish and which maybe have gone over well in your experience?

    Thanks in advance!

  • WAY over luggage weight restrictions - please help!?

I'm moving back to NZ after living in Spain for a year and, as expected, I have a lot of luggage to bring back. I have three large bags packed full of my belongings. I know I am only allowed two checked pieces of luggage, so I was wondering wether I could pay some sort of an extra fee for my extra bag (is that even possible?) or wether I should just ship the bag home.

Any suggestions would be great! I'm happy to go either way with this, and quite happy to pay whatever price but I was just wondering which would be the best option.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Can I pack alcohol in my checked luggage?

I'm flying from Spain to NZ and since I am only 17, I doubt I can buy alcohol Duty Free, so I was wondering if I could buy some alcohol here in Spain and pack it into my checked luggage. Would I get stopped by cistoms? Would I have to declare it? Is it even legal? I only want to buy a few small bottles of Sangria as gifts.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Leaving my puppy for 6 months?

    Hey everyone,

I have been living in Madrid for the past year and bought a Border Collie puppy within the first month that I was here. I have recently found out some bad news and have to move back to New Zealand in two weeks. I checked out all the quarantine laws and have found that he needs to have a 6 month old blood test, which really set me back as we have only just had his first blood test done, which means he will have to stay here in Spain without me for 6 months. My step-dad's parents have offered to look after him for the 6 months, which I am completely happy with but my problem is actually leaving him. I was just wondering what I could do to help ease this process, as I don't want him to forget me, nor do I want him to think I have abandoned him.

Any help, suggestions or stories would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Age to buy alcohol duty free (Spain to NZ)?

    Hey everyone,

I am flying from Spain to New Zealand and was wondering what the age restriction was for buying alcohol duty free. I'm 17 years old, and I know the drinking age in NZ is 18, but I read somewhere that 17 is the international minimum age to bring alcohol and tobacco in to countries through Duty Free, so I'm kinda clinging to a little bit of hope as I really want to bring a few bottles of Sangria back to NZ, as you can't buy it there!

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Is 2 days in Marrakech enough?

Due to my late night arrival and early morning depature, I only have two full days in Marrakech. Is this enough? I'm not planning to go anywhere outside of Marrakech, but I'm afraid I won't really get a true taste of Marrakech in that short amount of time. I have the option of paying around €100 extra for a flight which arrives a few hours earlier and departs Marrakech a few hours later, but I'm not sure wether it's worth it or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • General Morocco Questions!?

    Hey everyone,

I´m going to be heading to Morocco (I live in Madrid so I will most probably be visiting the coastal towns, aswell as Marrakesh) for a couple of days in a few weeks and would like to know a few things as I´ve never been there before.

    - What are some good 'touristy', relatively cheap items/souvenirs to pick up for my friends and family who wont be joining myself?

    - What are some more quality, typically Moroccan items that i could pick up for myself (I´m an 18 year old girl)?

    - What goods are MUST BUYS (leather, jewellery, food etc.)?

    - Will I be able to get by on only English and Spanish?

    - What are the MUST DOS in Marrakesh?

    - What will the weather be like early november?

    - Are there any clothing guidelines that I should stick by (as I mainly wear dresses but I don´t want to offend anyone)?

Sorry for the whole heap of questions! I would most thankful for any replies!

    Thanks in advance! :)

  • What would you do (possible child abuse situation)?

    Hi everyone.

I live in an apartment and have a lady with her two young children living above us (one is 2, the other about 5). I hear her screaming at them at all hours, and have also heard her threaten to hit them. A little while ago I heard the youngest one was screaming his lungs out in pain, and the mother was telling him to shut up. My Step-Dad is considering talking to her, the landlord or maybe reporting her to child services, but I don't know if it's our place to. We haven't physically seen her hit them, but have heard her threaten and them cry. I really don't know what to do as I have never been in this situation before.

Any help, advice or stories are greatly appreciated!

  • Spanish Help?!?

    Hey everyone.

I live in Spain and speak very basic Spanish (although I am taking a language course atm, if that helps :D). Anyway, I was walking my dog the other night and guy followed my practically all the way home and kept asking me to go with him and where I lived. I just stopped speaking to him and continued home, ignoring him. Now, my question here is how can I tell him to basically 'piss off'? How can I call for help? How do I tell him to stop talking to me, and to go away?

Any help along with translating those phrases or any other important words you could use in a simillar situation would really be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Organizing Wardrobe...?

    Heya,

I am organizing my wardrobe, and I was wondering what the rules for keeping clothing are? Like, if you haven't worn the item in x-amount of months than you don't need it - things like that.

I have gone through it twice already, and have filled a small bag of things to throw out, a rubbish bag of things to donate, and packed away winter clothes, but I know I am still pack-ratting many things as I always think 'maybe I will need it' and am constantly impulse buying items - I'm especially bad when it comes to sales!

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Are there any outdoor markets in Madrid that sell fresh fruit & vegetables, similar to the Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona?

  • Is Norton Anti-virus necessary?

    Hiya,

I have a brand new HPG5000 laptop, preloaded with Windows Vista.

I have AVG Antivirus, Windows Defender and Ad-Aware SE and am happy with them both.

My problem is, Norton 2007 is loaded onto this laptop aswell, and I'm not sure if I should delete or keep it just to be safe. I don't use it, so it's just a waste of space, right?

Please let me know if I need it or should keep it or whatever. Pro's and Con's would be great!

Thank you all in advance :)

  • Vista - Preloaded programs? Please help!?

    Hey everyone!

I have a brand new HPG500 laptop, bought a few days ago, preloaded with Vista. Everything is running fine, but it was also loaded with alot of programs, and I would like to know which ones are necessary or important for me to keep.

My add/remove list is somewhat populated and these are the programs listed in it that I am unsure about.

    Adobe Flash Player 9 ActiveX

    Adobe Reader 7.0.5

    Adobe Shockwave Player

    HP Customer Experience Enhancements

    HP DVD Play 3.0

    HP East Setup - Core

    HP Easy Setup - Frontend

HP Quick Launch Buttons 6.10 C1

    HP Update

    Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver

    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6

    LiveUpdate 3.2 (Symantec Corporation)

    LiveUpdate Notice (Symantec Corporation)

    Norton Internet Security (Symantec Corporation)

    PC Connectivity Solution

    Roxio Creator Audio

    Roxio Creator Basic v9

    Roxio Creator Copy

    Roxio Creator Data

    Roxio Creator EasyArchive

    Roxio Creator Tools

    Roxio MyDVD Basic v9

    Windows Live Sign-in Assistant

I have AVG and Ad-Aware running so I don't know if I have any need for Norton. I also have had problems with Roxio, and can't seem to burn a CD for the life of me, so I have a freeware called DeepBurner which does the job perfectly, but I am still hesitant to delete Roxio as I don't know if I will need it or not.

I will be greatful for any help I get.

    Thanks!
