  • Voltage drop calculations without ampers or ohms known.?

Hey, I'm doing an electricity in automotive class and the work book has a series circuit with 12 volts. It has two questions, voltage at point D (between load and ground), and how much voltage is dropped across the load. The only details is there are 12 volts, nothing about how many ohms the load has. So I have my answers being "Uncalcable volts. Resistance unknown, amperes unknown." I still have time to turn this in a about two weeks. Is there a number I can get? The video for this section shows the same circuit and when discussing voltage drop it showed 12.0V to 0.0V, but that would dictate the ohms are known or it can be calculated. This diagram has nothing else. (Tried adding a picture, it's not cooperating.)

  • Wifi connection issues, can not connect?

So I ve been having a few phones do this. I d see an open WiFi network available, some times a free open WiFi offered by, like where I was getting one last night, Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington, but when trying to connect, it doesn t show authentication problem or anything. It just doesn t connect and says it s saved, and trying to connect multiple times it just keeps saying it s saved but gives no reason it won t connect.

I looked online about wifi issues but this one was not covered. Any ideas?

  • How do you tell if your engine is loping?

So I'm looking through a service manual and it's on about loping engine while idling or idles wildly. I had to look of loping and the definition was no help understanding what that would be. And trying search for how to identify it only gave me nothing but search results on how to fix it. Not sure how to fix a problem if you can't identify wether there even is one.

I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota with the stock V6, since I got back from my last set of orders the engine has been sounding different than before I left. It has more roar like a 1970 Nova SS to a 1964 Mustang sound. Before it was fairly load, but didn't sound like that. Would loping have something to do with this? Any thoughts on how to tell if it IS loping without having to go through these 14 steps? #3 is the possibility of a clogged filter, so I'll be checking that today.

  • Difficulty starting car, 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis GS?

I got it from my grandfather who let it sit for years. Fluids have been replaced and all, but lately I suddenly started dealing with issues getting it to start. I removed the corrosion from the terminals, replaced the connectors, the wires at the terminals are fine. I had the battery tested today reading at 16.28V. I have had the power locks stop working after just once pressing unlock, dash didn't come on the other day but did today. I am not able to get the engine to turn over, not even clicking. When I had this issue with my 1992 Dodge Dakota it was clicking and just needed bolts for the starter and eventually a new starter and gas been fine. As there is no clicking, the employee that tested the battery suspects the alternator. Do you figure I should start there, or have anything else I should check before seeing about a starter problem, new one or new battery? Thank you for the advice!

  • Slow leak in radiator, non emergency, no pools.?

So I've had this issue with a slow leak in my radiator for my 1992 Dodge Dakota. I've looked before a couple times, it isn't enough leave a pool or notice dropping and I only need to refill my radiator every few weeks. I was going to see about a quick stop product and looked into it, apparently it is only good to use those for an emergency as they will clog hoses and block receptors. So, I can't see steam coming out while driving. Should I let it idle and see if I can find small steam leaks from the radiator, hoses and so forth, check the clamps and all as thoroughly as I can so I know what part/s need welded or replacing? I would go with the black pepper idea my mother told me about, but if adding a quick stop or whatever is just going to lead to more issues, I'd rather just go with getting enough money together to fix or replace the part/s. A while ago when I first noticed I looked into it and one possibility is leaking into the oil and noted it would look white, etc. and haven't seen an abnormal color to my oil.

Thank you for any advice on perhaps the most likely area of such small leaking issue.

  • What is the religious stance for Godsmack?

In a few of the songs by Godsmack, to me they seem to be attacking Christianity by their beliefs, is that what the band is representing, or what is there religious stances anyhow?

  • Quran 39:45, any one else think that verse (or what ever it is called) is bull crap?

I was in my public library a few days ago, and I didn't borrow the Quran, so I don't have it in front of me, but I did write down the verses when I was looking through some of the pages before it started the Quran, and it singularly quoted 39:45, and I don't recall the exact words, but it was more along the lines of:

"The name of God, or even the subject of, makes nonbelievers quiver."

Being that we atheists debate the many forms and kinds of gods, and actually USE the terms, and names, etc., would you NOT say that 39:45 is a foolish lie?

  • What do you think of 1 Timothy 4:4?

1 Timothy 4:4 The reason for this is that every creation of God is fine, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.

Would this mean that for those of us who are not welcoming preach and insights to what happened with others, Christians [and who ever else go to preach what ever, and or give opinions with out being asked for them] should keep their mouth shut, otherwise what they say IS to be rejected?

  • Muslims, your thoughts on this Face Book post my mother has about the Ground Zero Mosque? Others, your thought?

All names will be with held for possible legal purposes.

My mother left herself logged into he Face Book account, and she had a post that read:

    "Regarding the

mosque near ground zero, I say let them build it. But across the street

we should put a topless bar and call it "You Mecca Me Hot." Next to

that, a gay bar called, "The Turban Cowboy." Then next to that, a pork

rib-restaurant called, "Iraq o' Ribs." Let's see who's really tolerant.

...This is a repost but I had to steal it and it's also my constitutional

    right to free speech."

And she had two friends comment saying this:

****- "lets do it LOL way to funny :)"

    ****- "Great idea!"

By the 'let's see who is really tolerant' part, I would say she had fallen on her sword many years ago (I would know, she expressed this to me many times as a Satanist, and an atheist, etc.)!

  • Murder Rap... ICP, Above The Law... Others!?

I have ICP's Hell's Pit album, which contains a song entitled 'Murder Rap', and I was playing GTA: SA again lately, and I noticed Above The Law had a slightly different in lyrics version. I am sure that ATL released their version before ICP had theirs, and I was looking on youtube last night to try and see about other versions of the same song.

What all artists have the same song 'Murder Rap'?

Who was the first (or earliest to your knowledge) to have that song, whether written or produced and sold?

And I'm not talking about that death rap from Scary Movie, but the one that I was talking about has lines like:

"When I sit there and write this sh!t for the mike I hold,

I make sure my beats are loud, and bold, and cold."

    etc.!

  • How would I go about tightening my bike chain?

I have a bike that has only one set of gears (Mongoose Freestyle), and the rear tire keeps sliding forward, so I have moved it all the way up the fork, now I just need a SLIGHTLY smaller chain. I don't want to mess around buying new chains for it. I have tried to pull to parts of the chain together to see how many 'links' I would need to take out to get it tight enough to fit the gears, but not so much I can't get it back on.

It seems I would just need one link taken out, or what ever. But I plan to just start with one, and add one each time, as I had been told in woodworking class, "Too much is okay, but too little, and you have to start all over", buy that we had to be reminded of the 'curf' of the blade, etc.

I was told one to just take a mallet and a screw driver, and just tap out as many as I need, is that how I could do that, and would that be recommended?

  • Why do "Christians" keep asking us atheists about them laughing at us in Heaven, while we are in Hell?

Why is it that the so called "Christians" don't practice nor even recognize what their Lord and Savior taught, i.g.- to treat your enemies with kindness, turn the other cheek (though Luke 19:27 has him demanding otherwise, and his father making different than both acts LAW!), etc.?

Why is it that it is mostly atheists who ACTUALLY read The Holy Bible, not just follow along with what was 'nit-picked' at church by the priest(ess), preacher, reverend, speaker, etc.?

  • On bears: Black/brown/cinnamon, polar, grizzly.... Which are the Kodiak?

I was looking through some animal guides I have one is for the Western North American, the other the Eastern North America, it says that Ursus americanus- is the Black Bear, and is also called the Brown Bear, and Cinnamon Bear, Ursus horribilis- is the Grizzly Bear, also called silver Tip, and Ursus maritimus- is the Polar Bear, which it doesn't say has other names. As I recall there is a Kodiak Bear, but it doesn't have it in them, are either the Black or Grizzly the Kodiak?

I know there is a Kodiak, there is a snuff tobacco named after them (my uncle used to chew that brand), and they were also mention in "The Edge" staring Alic Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins, which I watched not even a week ago!

  • Christians, a question about Christ Jesus...?

Being that Christ was to later become known as Jesus, and at his birth was called The King of The Jews, and he being Jewish, why is he not depicted with a yamaka?

  • My friend and I are seeing about buying some land in Alaska, where would be the best area to buy some acres?

I have rather recently sent myself an E-Mail with 3 different sites having listings, so there is that, but I am curious, for more mild winters, etc., what would be the best area(s) in Alaska to buy some land, preferably like isolated acreage? Like the Yukon, or some other areas.

I am thinking something more that has:

    - Clean/fresh water(s)

    - Lake(s)/River(s)

    - Some mountain range territory

    - Good hunting

    - Good fishing

    - Not TOO rough for traveling by foot, like being heavily felled with trees

    - And should have some fair or better spots for building a living quarters, ex.- cottage, house, etc.*

*I ask about that one because we plan to make our own, given that, well I know I have Architectural exp., and we plan to rather build our own!

Note: As far as I know, Real Estate is the best section given for this, if there is one better, I would like to hear it!

  • How many of the founding fathers were Christian, how many were Freemasons, and how many were other?

I am just wondering how many where Freemason, Christian, etc. Also, if you could go to tell me who individually was of which, that would be nice, thank you in advance!

Note: I would prefer accuracy, I know that most of the founding fathers are known Freemasons, so don't give me crap saying "They all were Christian because this is a Christian nation!" or something like that, as both of those are false!

  • Fundamentalist Mormons are polygamists, what?! (And more, see details).?

I am watching this program called 'Family Secrets', and they said that this father cult leader borrowed ideas from other religious groups, one idea being of polygamy from Fundamentalist Mormons.

Do they really have polygamy as part of their religious practice?

My mother said that Catholics (which her older brother and his family are Catholic of some sort) are also supposed to be polygamists. Is that a certain Catholic sect, or what?

Are there any other polygamist religions?

  • Christian type theists- a question about Jehovah/God...?

One- Why does it say in the Bible 'Let us create man in our image...' And Jehovah/God creates man in HIS image (which, from the text, and he being the one true god, etc., seems very contradictory, but is not my question), yet we ONLY being created in His image, not His intelligence (which also seems to be contradicted a number of times, but again, beside the question)? I mean, if Jehovah/God created us in His image, why not His intelligence as well, being, that we are omniscient just like He is supposed to be?

  • Joseph Smith vs. Mohamed. Which proceeded the other?

Accordingly, Mohamed is the final prophet, but a few days ago, I was looking through the beginning of 'The Book of Mormon' to see where I left off, and I think I was in the middle of a piece called 'The testimony of Prophet Joseph Smith'. If Joseph Smith came AFTER, Mohamed, does that mean that Mohamed was NOT the final prophet, or does it mean that Smith is a false prophet? If Smith came AFTER, does that ring the possibility that he could be the Biblical 'AntiChrist'?

I'm an atheist, so please don't call me a 'stupid fundy' or something based off the last question.

Also, is it 'Mohammad', or 'Mohamed'? I never really learned that one, and am too lazy to look it up on Ask.com or something.
