  • How to remove vodka stains from a wood table.?

The other night I hosted a party and when I woke up the table was stained with vodka. The table is oak, but now there are stains that look as though the wood has been bleached. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

  • Can I upgrade my laptop?

I have a MSI CR630 Notebook and I'm looking to upgrade the video card.

    http://uk.msi.com/product/nb/CR630.html

I bought it to do university work, but have also been using it in my free time to play games. The problem is, it doesn't have a high enough spec to run most new games. The spec is as follows:

    AMD Athlon(tm) II P320 Dual-Core Processor (2.1 GHz)

    4gb ram (3.7gb usable)

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4270 Video card

    ATI High Definition Audio Device

and about 120gb free hard disk space.

I'm unsure about upgrading it though, as laptops are not easily upgradable.

I definitely need a new video card, and possibly a new processor (although this is not as important).

Is it possible to upgrade, and if so, are there particular cards that won't work?

I'm sure my laptop is compatible with most, it's just the physical space inside the laptop that I'm worried about. Thanks

  • Where can i find this game?

It's on PC and it's called Pirates of the Caribbean. It's loosely based on the movies and is from Bethesda. It came out in 2003 and I've lost my copy. I want to download it and play pretty soon, so I dont want to buy a hard copy. I'd prefer to pay for it (It's not on steam), put would resort to a pirate download if i need to. Also no torrents, they dont work for me. Thanks

  • Will old transfer kits work (Xbox 360)?

I've pre-ordered the new Xbox 360, but want to transfer the saved files from my old 20gb hard drive. My fried has offered to lend me his data transfer kit, but I'm not sure if it's compatible. I assume it would work, but the new Xbox 360s have a different style hard drive and I just wanted to make sure that I can move my files, without having to buy a memory stick. Also, if I do have to use a memory stick, I can just re-download game add-ons and map packs that I have bought from my 'download history' list, right?

  • Why won't my game start?

I recently downloaded Starwars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy onto me Windows 7 Computer, Via Steam, but it won't load. The console appears, but gives me the following error message:

"GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem."

Is it a Windows 7 Compatibility issue or has it not installed correctly?

  • Did Disturbed cover 'Bodies' (originally by Drowning Pool)?

I've heard a version of the song that is different than the original, and my mate told me that it's a cover by Disturbed. However my mate tells a lot of bull-plop (kids might be reading).

It kinda sounds like the singer of Disturbed, but I'm not convinced.

When it leads up to the 'One, Nothing wrong with me, Two, Nothing wrong with me.....' part, the singer quickly sings 'here we go' three times. (just in case you've heard the version I'm talking about.

  • What does the E74 Xbox error actually mean?

I was told it was that the GPU and CPU were overheating, so I opened my xbox (warranty was already void), removed the X-Clamps, cleaned and replaced the thermal compound on the CPU ad GPU. I then used new screws and washers to fix the heat sinks back down. Then I allowed the xbox to overheat, by turing it on without the fan plugged in and waiter an hour for it to cool down.

Somehow I still had the one red light and E74. Is there something else I need to do, or have I done the wrong thing entirely?

    Cheers for any help.

  • What's wrong with my Xbox?

My Xbox 360 has one red light and E74 error on screen. My warranty was already voided, so I tried to repair it myself. I have opened it, stripped it down to the motherboard and removed the X-clamps. I then used TIM cleaner to clean the GPU and CPU and put a layer of thermal compound on each chip. Then I reattached both heat sinks using new screws and washers. I then, with the fan disconnected, plugged my Xbox in and left it on to over heat and give two red lights (in order to reset the temperature sensors). Then I waited for it to cool down, reattached the fan and disk drive, but still had E74 and the red light.

Could the error be caused by something else or should I apply some more thermal compound?

Thanks for reading my question, I know it was a long one.

Any help would be much appreciated, but please don't answer with 'You shouldn't have opened your Xbox' or something similar, those comments would help no-one.

    Thanks =]

  • How can I change the monitor on my computer?

I used to have my computer set up to a HDTV through a HDMI cable and an adapter. However, now I am moving the computer into another room and using the monitor it used to be used with but it isn't working, I am just getting a black screen. The monitor worked fine before, so it's not a problem with the monitor and the set-up looks fine. The monitor is connected to the computer from a different port than the TV was, so do I need to change the default port the computer gives output from? If so, how would I do that? If it makes a difference, the monitor and the TV are both Samsung.

    Cheers in advance.

  • What happened to Heroes (the tv show)?

I like in the UK so we've only had series 1-3 show. How many series have been made and how many are they planning to make? Heroes is the best American TV show ever and is (in my opinion) only second to Dr. Who.

  • Is there a alternative to SATA that doesn't involve exposing my motherboard?

Is there a SATA to USB converter or something? Surely there's something more convenient than taking of my computer's cover to access the port. I mean, what an awkward place to have a port.

  • How can I find out if my computer has a Sata port?

Is there a way I can find if I have a sata port without actually dismantling my computer to look at the motherboard? If so, can I access it without taking apart my computer? Because I need to access it and exposing the motherboard is out of the question.

  • Torrents are STILL slow?

Every torrent I download downloads really slow. I took advice and moved from Vuze to Utorrent, but I still download really slow. It can't be the fault of the peers because it's every file I download. Speed tests from inside the torrent programs gone up at 18kbs but speed tests I do on the internet give me about 1000kbs. What am I doing wrong? Is there an alternative I can use instead of torrents that I can try? I'm sick of these slow speeds.

  • Why is Vuze downloading torrents so slowly?

Ok, i've done all of the stuff I should do. My firewall has an exception for Vuze, I've forwarded the port to a static IP address I created for my computer. For all my downloads the I'm getting green faces, and I only choose downloads with lots of seeds and peers. So why do i have a stupidly slow download speed? For example, a file I'm trying to download now has 105 seeds with 34 connected, yet the download speed averages at around 15kb/s. Now that shouldn't happen with a 54Mbps connection, I'm sure. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

Any help, no matter how small be be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
