How should I discipline my one year old son?
I have a 19 month old son who has been misbehaving since he started walking when he was 10 1/2 months. He constantly hits (both when he is excited and when he is mad), climbs on things every where is he goes, and sometimes finds a way to squeeze his milk out from his sippy cup onto the furniture, floor, etc. My husband and I have tried to tell him constantly that doing those things are a "no no". And when he hits I say "do not hit" while holding his arms/hands. Most of the time he doesn't even look us in the eyes when we try to talk to him about his behavior, he just looks in the opposite direction and snatches his hand back and hits again. We have tried spanking his hand but most of the time he does not react to it. Time out does not seem to do much either. The only time he seems the most focused is when we read books to him, sing the alphabet, count, watch Sesame Street, etc. He really is catching on to numbers and letters which surprises me at his age! But he still needs some effective discipline. Please share your thoughts and techniques.
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoGirls selling donuts in the parking lot?
I was wondering if anyone knew the religion of the girls wearing long skirts that sell Krispy Kreme donuts in the parking lot of stores like Wal-Mart? They always say that they are raising money for their dance team but I think they may be Jehovah's Witnesses trying to get money for their church. I could be wrong but just wanted to know.

I mean I understand not celebrating Halloween because it does have a historically negative tone but all the others seem okay to me.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoNo divorce no matter what?
According to the bible, there is only one reason that you can divorce a person and that is due to fornication (Matt. 5:32). So what do you do if you are in a physically abusive marriage? Ultimately when you make a marriage vow, you are making a vow to God as well as that person. So can you ever really break the vow outside of the cause of fornication? Please share your thoughts and use scripture references if possible. Thanks!

Would it be hypocritical for a Christian to go and see the movie Magic Mike? Please share your thoughts :)
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDo you believe in Oneness or the Trinity?
I know some people believe that God is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit all at once. But some believe that God is part of the trinity in which He is the Father, Jesus is the Son, and then you have the Holy Spirit that all work together in unity but they are 3 separate beings. Some even argue about this. Does it really matter which it is as long as God is the head?
If you can please give scripture to explain your answer. Thanks in advance!
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDoes the Church of Christ believe that they are the only one's going to heaven?
I have heard this for years but not from an actual Church of Christ member. I was told that only people who attend a church named the Church of Christ will be the only people that go to heaven. And that belief is based on one scripture. Can anyone clarify this?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy is it so important that I join a church?
My husband and I are both Christians that truly love the Lord. We love to read the bible together, pray together, and give tithes to Christian organizations. But some people have been telling us that it is important for us to join a physical church. The problem is that I don't completely 100% agree with any denomination. For Ex: Though I grew up in the Methodist church, I don't agree with their method of baptism by sprinkling with water because it's not scripture. I visited a church recently that taught that women were to only wear skirts, never cut their hair, can't wear makeup or jewelry which I don't agree with either.
Please share your thoughts and if you can back it up with biblical scripture.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovah's Witnesses, what are some misconceptions (if any) about your faith?
I have mostly Pentecostal/Apostalic beliefs and I am trying to learn about your faith. I may have been mislead by some others telling me about your beliefs so I would like to hear straight from you.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAtheist, how do you explain speaking in tongues?
I'm a Christian and in 2009 I learned about the Holy Spirit and tongues. I did not believe in tongues but I knew that the bible said that tongues are a sign for unbelievers. So I prayed to God that if He wanted me to speak then I would speak in tongues. A few nights later, I went to pray and started to speak in an unlearned tongue. It was beautiful and miraculous (not babbling). I soon learned that the language I was speaking was Italian. How could that happen if God does not exist?
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat outdoor activities can you do with an infant?
My husband and I have a 2 month old son and we are not ready for anyone to babysit him yet. So we are looking for activities outside the house to do that are infant friendly. We tried taking him to the beach today but even though not much sun was out, the little sun there was out really irritated him. And even when in the shade, the little wind that blew irritated him and he would cry. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agoShould I go through with being induced on 7/13?
I am 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant and my doctor wants to induce me on 7/13 in which i will be 39 weeks. The reason he wants to induce is because I have gestational diabetes and he does not want the baby to get too big. At first I said no I wanted my baby to come on his own but now I'm honestly tired of being pregnant. My feet are so swollen that I can hardly walk and they are so sore. But the doctor said it was still totally up to me but he does recommend an induction which would involve pitocin. What would you do?
5 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoAre you willing to die for what you believe?
I know that Jesus died for us that we might live and go to Heaven and therefore we do not have to die for Him. But what if it got to the point where you were asked to denouce Jesus as your Savior or be killed? Would you be willing to stand up for what you believe and risk dying?

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAnyone know about tithing?
Someone at work told me that they read in the bible where it says that if you tithe at a place where the preacher is being deceitful, your tithe will not be blessed. I have never seen this. Please let me know if you have and where.

11 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhat should I do about my indoor bunnies?
I am moving to an apartment that does not allow exotic pets like rabbits. I have two rabbits and they have been living indoors since they were six weeks old. They are nine months old now and I was going to have them live outdoors at my parents home in a backyard bunny hutch. But I am afraid they will not survive because they have lived indoors so long and it is nearly winter. Any suggestions on what I should do?
3 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoFor Christians: Speaking in tongues?
Last week, I experienced speaking in tongues for the first time. It was absolutely amazing! I realized at one point I was repeating two or three words and just found out what they meant today. But some people say that tongues are not to be understood (heavenly language) and some say that it is just a different, unlearned language which is what I believed I was speaking (Italian). Anyone have any idea which is true and where to find evidence?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you send bibles to Nigeria?
I received a strange email from someone in Nigeria about a family needing 4 bibles sent to them. Initially I thought "why not? they didn't ask for money." But something told me to research it and I saw that many people are being asked to do this and its a scam to get bibles and sell them in the "black market" in Nigeria to buy drugs, weapons, etc. But there are people that sincerely need bibles there too. Should I risk denying someone the knowledge of Christ?
