What's the recovery for spayed/neutered kitties?
I just got my two kitties fixed today -- 1 male, 1 female, about 13 weeks old. I asked the vet if I needed to do anything special and she said "nope, they'll be fine by tomorrow." But I'm a worrier. The little girl is under the bed (I have them shut off in a room to keep them off the stairs). The little boy came out and walked around very gingerly and would try to sit down but acted like it hurt. Then he laid down and started licking his "stuff" for a long time. And they haven't eaten anything. They got fixed earlier this morning. Is it okay for him to be licking it like that?
Also, I'm supposed to crate them back up tomorrow afternoon and take them back to the shelter where I adopted them so their microchips can get scanned and all that info entered. Will they be okay for that trip?
Also, the vet didn't tell me to get special litter (I use regular clumping litter) but I saw something else about special litter. I'm not even sure if they will try to use the box tonight, but if so, do you think my regular litter is OK? The only other litter I have is "World's Best" which is made of corn and maybe less dust...
Thanks for any advice.
