  • My [new] cell phone will not pair with my hands free kit?

I have a Samsung GT-E2550 that will not pair with my Supertooth One hands free kit - is there anything I can do to make this happen?

It is using my SIM card from my old phone (Motorola) which paired fine.

The GT- will pair with other phones, just not the hands free.

After a search there is "No Bluetooth device found" even though the phone/hands free are just feet apart.

    I'm stumped!

  • Removal of national flag from tent without consent - illegal / racist?

I recently went camping with my teenage son to Cornwall and after a few days of my stay on the campsite, I hung out a small 2' x 3' flag of my (non-English) country from the guy rope of our tent (something I have done in nearly 30 years of camping holidays).

The owner of the site, who his wife described as "very English" took the flag down the next day when we were off-site for the day as he was "offended by it".

It seems that it was ok for him to have a St George Cross on a 30' flagpole on the campsite (and incidentally I have no problem with an Englishman flying the flag of his country at all) but flying the flags of Wales or Scotland from his guests tents were not allowed.

Are there any legal issues surrounding his actions?

(I'm not going to sue him or anything daft like that, but I do want to write a review about the site and my unfortunate experience there - if only to warn others of his attitude - and want to be sure that I don't break any libel laws myself!)

There was nothing on the website about not flying flags, national or otherwise.

p.s. This guy (who had what I think was a South-East England accent) even found the Cornish Cross "offensive". On his campsite in Cornwall!

I'd be interested in peoples views on this matter

    Thanks.

  • Cat behaviour question?

I have a 2-3 yr old cat - she was a stray, so her age is a guess by a vet.

The vet also believes the cat has been neutered as Jess is not showing any of the usual symptoms of coming into heat.

    All well and good.

However, what Jess has done lately is to dig a sock out of my new trainers (I'm breaking them in by wearing them around the house - as you do!) carry it upstairs and drop the sock on the threshold of my bedroom.

She's done this about 6-7 times over the past 2 weeks or so and always at night - there's no obvious pattern to this but then she's not in the house every night...

I find it quite quaint that this young cat is digging out a sock from a shoe and then carrying the sock up to my room and leaving it there!

My [pet] theories (sorry!) are either:

    a) She's carrying a 'kitten' around and playing 'mum' (although I'd have thought she'd take any 'kittens' to her own bed?)

    or

    b) more likely she's 'hunting' it and giving it to me as a present - there's been a few mice in various states of mortality left outside my back door recently...

She's doesn't appear to be chewing the socks as they are undamaged.

I'm sure this is not unique behaviour among cats, but I'd be interested to learn if other cat owners have witnessed this (or something similar) with their own moggy or can offer an alternative theory.

... and before I get any jokes about my foot hygiene - let me say that the socks are clean ones!!! ;-)

    TIA

  • Can you safely give a cat raw meat - specifically chicken?

I'm feeding a stray from time to time and am curious as to whether or not cats can (safely) eat raw chicken.

I'm not thinking of given her solely raw chicken of course(!), just some fresh scraps I have in the fridge

    Thanks

    Edit

I'd guess she's about a year old or just over - young but definitely not a kitten

  • Crimefighting series from US (60's) - similar in style to the Avengers?

    Here's hoping....

I've just seen an ad on Brit TV showing a clip from the opening of this series and it's driving me nuts trying to remember the name! It's the very last few seconds of the opening where three people (a woman flanked by two men) have their backs to the camera with a large fountain in the background. They turn slowly to face the camera. The men are wearing suits, the woman is in orange!! I'm 100% *sure* the show is American and was a 60's US answer to the UK "Avengers"

I'm sorry I can't be more precise than this with the description - I only have a vague memory of the show myself.

    There's nothing like a challenge.. :)

  • JVC camcorder problem?

No recorder picture, "Lens Cap" displayed even though cap is off; plays pre-recorded images ok.

I know from research that this problem has been flagged by JVC, unfortunately their 'free repair' offer finished in 10/2007 and I have only just discovered mine is afflicted (just in time for my holiday!!).

Has anyone managed to repair their similarly affected camcorder outside of this time limit?

If so, what did you/they do.

    TIA.

  • Does anyone remember the Children's TV programme 'HOW' - from the early 70's (possibly late 60's?)

This was a children's information progamme - vaguely scientific based where solutions to the questions were usually performed by the presenter to the camera. (No videos in those days!!)

There were 4 presenters arranged around a long table - one at either end, two in the middle - each started their presentation with the word "HOW!" (Red Indian style - if one can use the term these days....)

The oldest presenter (bearded chap I think possibly named Clive) also had his own show (I think) called "In the Country"

If anyone has a link to more info I'd be grateful - the memory of it driving me nuts!
