  • Overnight hair product for curls/waves?

Hi everyone. I have wavy/curly hair and when I don't want to blow dry it straight I like to wash it at night. When I wake up sometimes it looks mostly okay but some pieces become flatter/straighter than others. Is there a product or big curlers I could use to fix this or am I out of luck when it comes to sleeping on wet hair? Thanks!

  • Naturally curly hair?

I have naturally curly/wavy hair and I like to blow dry it straight because it looks neater, more professional and prettier. However blow drying it over the years has caused my hair to become thinner and really damaged. I will usually blow dry it once or twice a week now and on the other days I put it in a bun or pony tail and it just looks frizzy and sloppy, which I don't like especially for when I go to work. I have thought about a keratin treatment but I'm wondering if anyone has other ideas of how I can make my hair look good on a daily basis without chemical treatments or constant blow drying. And for people who would suggest keratin what are your experiences with it? Thanks!

  • Feel sad during spring?

Anyone feel sad during springtime? I told my head doc (I go to him to get a prescription for my anxiety disorder) and he said that some people do have mood changes according to season but that they are usually effected during the cold months. So does anyone else get a sad, gloomy feeling when it starts getting warmer outside?

  • Copper IUD?

Hi everyone. I'm interested in IUDs. With a copper IUD do you still ovulate and get a period each month? Right now I use a combination of calendar method and condoms for birth control. I would like to know when I am ovulating even with an IUD so I am curious about that aspect of the copper IUD versus hormonal IUD. Please let me know if I got anything wrong or am misunderstanding these methods. Thanks!!

  • Two weeks notice to temp job?

Hiya there. I have been in a temp to perm position for three weeks and I am going to be leaving for another opportunity. Do I need to give two weeks notice? I have essentially nothing to do at this job I'm in now. I would really like to start the new job in the middle of next week. Thanks!

  • Take temp to perm job?

Hi everyone! I was recently offered a temp to perm job at a company I really like. I had initially applied for a different position but an hr person thought this other position would be a good fit, and I agree. However, during the interview there was no mention that it would start out on a temp basis. I already have a temp to perm position and would really like a position that is permanent right away. This new company explained that I would be temp so they could see if I did a good job, and because they are currently figuring out what to do with the department, and that I would be eligible for a pay increase when the job goes perm (2-3 months). I was recently fired from my old job, and they also promised me a pay increase after three months if I was doing a good job, said I was doing a decent job, said I would get the increase, then never gave me the increase and fired me instead. So that's why I am a little wary of this temp to perm, maybe get an increase later kind of thing. Also this new job would represent a pretty big pay cut. But again, it's a company I really like. And I believe there would be room to grow. However, I am nervous that they could get rid of me during the process of figuring out what to do with the department. I would hate to say no, especially when I never even applied for this job in the first place. Any thoughts? :) thank you!

  • Return to old job?

Hey all. I left my job of four years about four months ago. I really liked my old job but I had a little too much work and the pay was a little low. I just left the new job and when I asked my old boss if I could use him as a reference he asked if I would be interested in returning to the old job.

I know that they are hiring right now for a job that was very similar to the one I left, but is a little more responsibility. If it was at a different company I would love it. But I am wary about returning to my old employer. Does anyone have advice or experience with this? The other thing is that when I left I said I would be interested in a counteroffer and then changed my mind, and for that I feel bad and I don't want them to not trust me or thing I am going to flake on them again.

Another detail: I do have a new job now, but it is a temp to perm gig and I am actively looking to leave.

    Anyone have thoughts? Thanks!

  • Signed something saying I am exempt from ot?

Hi all, my employer had me sign a document saying that I am not getting overtime pay based on the "professional" exemption; however, my job was simple administrative work. Clearly I was misclassified. Does anyone have insight into how having signed that document will affect any claim for overtime I have? Thanks!

  • Overtime calculation if out one day?

Hi all, how should you calculate overtime if there is one day that you do not work? i understand that the overtime pay rate of time and a half applies for hours worked over 40 hours in a week, so how would this work if you work, say, 40 hours in a week but only worked Monday through Friday? Are those extra hours you worked each day just compensated at your straight rate of pay? Or are you not compensated for them at all? This is in New York State. Thanks!
