Is it normal for gums to look super stretched??

I'm 22 and got my nose pierced at 17. Why does it still hurt when I take it in and out. I just don't understand. It's the little ball at the end that makes it hurt when I take it out. What can I do to make it not so painful?

don't you rewrite it as:

so wouldnt..

2a^3+3= 2(a^3+1)

and 4a+4= 4(a+1)
