  • I don't know if I should get rid of our new cat or not...?

    We adopted a cat a few weeks ago. When talking to the original owner we were told everything about his personality, and he sounded like a perfect fit. He hasn't had any problem adjusting, and is fine with our kids, and our dog. He literally ignores everyone and just sleeps. If you pet him he just moves a foot over and goes back to ignoring. I called the original owners, and they said they mixed his personality up and were talking about their other cat. That he is lazy, and just ignores people.

    He is only 1, and we have only had him for a week. I am just unsure if I want to keep a commitment for 15-20+ years when the animal I adopted is absolutely nothing like what we were told.

    I have had a few pets over my life, and not once have I gotten rid of them willingly (one died of cancer, the other was hit by a car when I was 12 when he ran out while I was at school when my mom went to leave for work) so I understand what it is like taking care of an animal, and the time and work it takes.

    Any advice about whether I should call the owners and see if they could take him back, or find him a new home, or just deal with it and hope he has a personality change... Thanks!

  • Taking my daughter to visit her dad makes me illl...What do I do?

    I take her to see him every other Sunday... This is only the third time in the past year (he just recently started improving his life, and is only now fit to see her).. My fiance and I usually meet him at a park or chuck E cheese...

    The thing is, the morning we are going to visit I start getting ill.. Diarrhea, upset stomach, and I even start throwing up.. by the time I am home and showered I feel fine..

    I looked this up and this happens to some people because they are stressed out. I can not avoid seeing him, as he has the right to see her... I have health problems though and I shouldn't take much medication. I take natural medication because it doesn't affect my liver the way other medicines do..

    My question is, what natural medicine or alternate medicine can I use to help with this problem?

  • Half solved math problem..? Ill choose a best answer tomorrow!?

    1) The meaning of the number 5000 is that it is the maximum amount of money that can be earned. This is because it is 5000 MINUS something. Now this something is a fraction 1000/(x-1) and as x increases, the value will decrease. For example if x = 2, this fraction is 1000, but if x = 3, this fraction is 500. If x is 99999999, this fraction will be very close to 0.

    2) The meaning of 1 in the formula is that an assumption has been made which indicates at least 1000 products have been sold. (where x is the number of items sold in thousands, x > 1). Now this has an affect on profit simply because in the second fraction all values of x have to be greater than 1.

    3)

    If x = 2, P(x) = 5000 - 1000 = 4000

    x = 3, P(x) = 5000 - 500 = 4500

    x= 4, P(x) = 5000 - 1000/3 = about 4667

    5.will this profit function have a maximum, if so, what is it?

    6.what steps should the company take to prepare for your answer to part 5?

    Annual profit in thousands of dollars is given by the function, P(x) = 5000 - (1000/(x-1)), where x is the number of items sold in thousands, x > 1.

    describe the meaning of the number 5000 in the formula, in terms of its meaning in relation to the profit.

    describe the meaning of the number 1 in the formula, in terms of its meaning in relation to the profit.

    find the profit for 5 different values of x

  • Pythagorean theorum question?

    Two vertical poles of lengths 3 ft. and 6 ft. stand 13 ft apart. A cable reaches from the top of one pole to some point on the ground between the poles and then to the top of the other pole. Where should this point be located to use 19 ft. of cable?

    The only thing I know about this is that it requires using the Pythagorean theorem

  • algebra question has me confused...?

    From a 220 feet high lighthouse in the Bahamas island of Nassau, a person sees a ship on the horizon. Due to the curvature of earth, how far is the ship from the lighthouse?

    Use the formula: d = sqrt[3h/2], where d is the distance in nautical miles and h is the height in feet.

    Provide a similar example of when you were close to the beach, or elsewhere. Estimate how high above sea level you are and find how far the ship is from you.

    I understand 220 is H... I dont understand how to do the equation is why I am asking for help.......

    I will choose best answer!

  • I shouldnt stay for the kids, but is there anything left here otherwise? Please someone answer!?

    I already have a 3 year old daughter (her father and I were together 4 years but he couldn't stop drinking or hold a job), I was single for awhile and focused on going back to school, and met my current boyfriend about 8 months ago. We have been seriously dating for over 7, and have been living together for 6 months. We definitly rushed things, and I think that might be the problem, the initial infatuation has long worn off, and we have nothing in common. We struggle just for things we can both enjoy on the weekends. I am 3 months pregnant now, and I know a baby isn't a reason to stay together, but I don't want to have 2 kids by 2 different guys. I have my cna, and am in a break from business school, but between that and 2 kids I don't think i could handle 2 kids school and a full time job. Daycare where I live alone would take 40% of what I could make at a job right now, and there's no way I could afford daycare for 2 kids and pay for my schooling. My bf and I, we use to argue almost every day, I changed everythign about myself. I gave up friends,(he did too) i dressed differently, gave up old hobbies, took up new ones, and he hasn't changed one single thing for me. I deffinitly resent him for it sometimes. I just don't know if I love him enough to keep working on this. We haven't even been together a year and I'm tired of the relationship. The baby (was a huge surprise because I am not supposed to be able to have any more due to illness)just adds so much complications. Where I live I would have full custody since we weren't married, and he would have them once a week and every other weekend. 2 kids, work and school would be unaffordable alone. So I'm just not sure what to do. My mom offered to let me live with her until I got on my feet, but me and both kids would be in a single bedroom. I just don't know and any advice would be great!!

    I want to stay in a way, we don't have anything in commen but I love him. We both have huge differences on parenting tactics and that's a fight because he thinks I baby my daughter, but I think he is way to harsh because she is only 3 and doesn't understand what he is saying sometimes but she still gets punished for it. In another way I want to leave, but worry about future relationships, having 2 kids by 2 different guys. I don't sleep around, but want a commited relationship if this doesn't work, and thats so hard to find when you already have 1 (let alone 2) kids and being so young. Im in my twenties. The other part wants to leave because I feel like our relationship is lacking everywhere except the bedroom!
