I'm a Lic. Counselor & have 26+yrs as a Substance Abuse/Co Occuring disorder Counselor . I have a rather broad area of interests and work experiences. I enjoy working on line, through ANSWER, to help people work on issues . Also as far a work experience, my last 10 yrs have been spent working as a Parole officer. This was a very mind expending position . I was very blessed to have learned from so many individuals. I love helping others here on ANSWER, and usually welcome individuals to reach me. Also I have a vast working knowledge of dog related issues. I have raised several different breds of dogs. I do not believe that everyone must Obtain their puppy from their nearest Dog Rescue. I believe we still live in America, where we can decide where we will purchase an item from/ Finally I am also a pain patient for last 15yrs so have a fair amount of experience&knowledge in Pain Management .
Limiting responses to Questions ask by people?
Why is it that ANSWER allows people to ask questions about Marijuana usage but limits responses ?? In many states Cannabis is legal so answering a question in an honest open way is a problem!! Could you please explain this to me a bit more! Thank you for helping!
I guess I might need to refresh my understanding of guidelines! I love ANSWER and don't want to be terminated from this site!
2 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoHonestly tell me about PAIN LEVEL in having ALL teeth extracted for Dentures?
Seldom ask questions, tend to answer most often. But I need some help and reassurance. Please read whole story.
About 23 yrs ago I had a terrible motorcycle accident while driving down a gravel road. The bike hit some loose gravel and skidded into a chain link fence post. Big problem was I was going about 35 mph. Hit a post with my face and handle bars of bike. Plastic face shield sliced my face like a surgical knife. It took over 250 sutures to sew my face together, my far-head, nose, lips and chin. I had to have multiple surgeries after this also.
At the time the also diagnosed that I had whiplash and afew other injuries. Obviously sewing my face together was the main focus at the time. Believe it or not you can hardly see the scars on my face. But since then I've had other accidents and have broken my neck at 3 levels and have a plate and screws in my neck.
OK teeth. Well starting afew years ago, my teeth started breaking, tiny corners, then splits down the front of them, then last year bottom two teeth just split off right above the gum line. Now understand it is not a cavity where a hole starts and then it gets bigger and breaks. Instead it's like I can see or feel a crack on a tooth and next thing you know it splits in half either horizontally or vertically.
I try to be so careful to eat soft foods, nothing I have to bite down on or use much tearing motion of my teeth. My front tooth just now broke in half vertically from my gum all the way down. That was done while I bit into a french fry, NOT crisp. Plus to all this is I lost 28 lbs to date. LOL
For the past 2 months I have been in non~stop pain. I am on pain medication as it for a variety of issues, pain in my neck, shoulder (torn rotator cuff), FM, Degenerative Disk Disease to name the main issues. NOW with the teeth breaking and splitting I can hardly stand the pain. I walk around spraying Chloraseptic in my mouth nonstop, alternating with Oraljel or Anbesol on a Q-tip on my tooth.
I am not able to go out of the house between the pain and the total humiliation of what other people are probably thinking. Not to mention I have retired and have no Dental Insurance and am having trouble figuring out how to afford this. BOTTOM LINE I AM TERRIFIED OF how much is this going to hurt to have the rest of my teeth extracted. Please someone older,REPLY, someone that has had all your teeth extracted to obtain dentures, please let me know what it was like. I have had Wisdom Teeth (4) removed at one time and have had 2 others extracted about 4yrs ago. BUT ALL THE REST...I am terrified.
Please no smart butt answers. I answer lots of questions and always try to do it in a caring and gentle way. Please help me with some honesty on this situation. Thanks in advance, I am afraid. My appointment is not till Feb 20 and the waiting it nerve racking.
VERY VERY sorry this was so long...
2 AnswersDental8 years agohow to become a Top Contributor?
I totally realize this maybe trivial but what makes someone at "Top Contributor" ? I have been answering questions on ANSWER since 5/10/08. This week I have gathered 200+ points. I am at level 6, with less than 400 points till I reach level 7. I have 50% Best Answers, a total of 24,611 points and like I said 50% Best Answers. I am curious what makes you a Top Contributor? I do feel that title makes people pay a bit more attention to your answer. I have seen answers that are totally off the wall and because someone thinks they gave a good answer they get the points for "best answer" and better than 75% of the time they were a top contributor.. Whatever it is that I have to do to gain that title I will work towards completing it. I am very serious about giving good, thought-out responses.
I was a licensed counselor for over 30 yrs and had to go on disabilities due to a client breaking my neck. So I find responding to emotionally hurting individuals on line helpful in filling my desire to continue to be of help to others. Thanks for your response.
7 AnswersYahoo Answers9 years agoWhy is every one so bent on getting a dog from a Shelter?
I'm not sure when this movement got started that everyone should get a dog from a Shelter. Some people want to know what they are getting and the grown dog does bit the kid in the face when upset. Some people what a special type of dog that fits their style and family. I think we should encourage people to get puppies spayed or nuetered when they buy from us-breeders.
