  • who makes 20" chrome lined AR barrels?

looking for a 20" chrome lined 5.56x45mm NATO chambered AR barrel that has true chrome lining as opposed to only being 4150 chrome-moly-vanadium steel alloy and threaded for an A2 birdcage flash hider?

    1:7 or 1:9 both work.

a thicker profile is better, but a medium will do.

    does such a thing exist?

  • a few question about colt ARs?

looking at maybe getting a colt sp 6920 but don't really like the short and fat look over the A2/4 style(with detachable carry handle).

what would i need to buy tool/ parts wise to have it converted from carbine to rifle length and if possible reuse the f marked FSB with bayonet lug?

what sized pin holes in the lowers are they using?

timney vs geisselle; which is better?

retailers/distributors online say their 20 inch 5.56 barrels are chrome-moly, not chrome lined; who is actually making a chrome lined 20 inch barrel in 5.56 with a thick profile and threaded for an A2 flash hider?

who is making the best stock? i've heard almost nothing but good about the MagPul CTR, any other options?

  • what is the difference between a Mossberg 590 and 590A1?

both are "special purpose" milspec shotguns that can use the same furniture. both with 3" chambers, however, there seems to be a price difference between the two models and the 590 comes in a blued finish and 590A1 has parkerized or marinekote.

    is there a quality difference?

also, is there a company who makes a new wood furniture set for one with a ribbed wooden fore-end?

  • Saiga-12 922r Conversion Parts?

as they start off with, they're 922r exempt. but if you want more than 5 shots you have to make them 922r compliant. this means that you might as well get a full saiga to AK-10X configuration conversion done.

can they be adapted to take wooden AK stocks

or is the rear trunion different?

  • anyone heard about the new possible mag capacity ban?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYVex2oYzK

    it states

S.3414, the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 SA 2575

SEC. ll. PROHIBITION ON TRANSFER OR POSSESSION OF LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICES. (a) DEFINITION.—Section 921(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting after paragraph (29) the following: ''(30) The term 'large capacity ammunition feeding device'— ''(A) means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition; but ''(B) does not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.''. (b) PROHIBITIONS.—Section 922 of such title is amended by inserting after subsection (u) the following: ''(v)(1)(A)(i) Except as provided in clause (ii), it shall be unlawful for a person to transfer or possess a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

''(ii) Clause (i) shall not apply to the possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device otherwise lawfully possessed within the United States on or before the date of the enactment of this subsection.

''(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to import or bring into the United States a large capacity ammunition feeding device. ''(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to—

    ''(A) a manufacture for, transfer to, or possession by the United States or a department or agency of the United States or a State or a department, agency, or political subdivision of a State, or a transfer to or possession by a law enforcement officer employed by such an entity for purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty);

    ''(B) a transfer to a licensee under title I of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 for purposes of establishing and maintaining an on-site physical protection system and security organization required by Federal law, or possession by an employee or contractor of such a licensee on-site for such purposes or off- site for purposes of licensee-authorized training or transportation of nuclear materials;

''(C) the possession, by an individual who is retired from service with a law enforcement agency and is not otherwise prohibited from receiving ammunition, of a large capacity ammunition feeding device transferred to the individual by the agency upon that retirement; or

''(D) a manufacture, transfer, or possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device by a licensed manufacturer or licensed importer for the purposes of testing or experimentation authorized by the Attorney General.''.

    (c) PENALTIES.—Section 924(a) of such title is amended by adding at the end the following:

'(8) Whoever knowingly violates section 922(v) shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.''.

    (d) IDENTIFICATION MARKINGS.—Section 923(i) of such title is amended by adding at the end the following: ''A large capacity ammunition feeding device manufactured after the date of the enactment of this sentence shall be identified by a serial number that clearly shows that the device was manufactured after such date of enactment, and such other identification as the Attorney General may by regulation prescribe.''.

it is identical to HR308 and similar the 1994 AWB, but with no sunset clause and as a rider to a different bill, just like the unconstitutional hughes amendment.

this will seriously affect those of us who like target shooting, and anyone with a newly made semi-automatic rifle. they might also be considering targeting internet ammo sales, and imported ammo for a new ban.

how likely do you think this is that this will pass? how much will it affect you?

  • who makes the best 12GA double aught(00) buckshot?

cleanest burning, best value for the large bulk packs, best for a semi-auto,etc.

has to be 2 ¾" long.

purpose is for medium or high brass target loads since low brass/birdshot doesn't always work the ejector.

also, yahoo thinks this should be a fishing question, lol.

  • which of these recoil pads is best for a Mosin rifle?

    option 1

    or

    option 2

  • black hard chroming guns?

most gun finishes on newer guns aren't much more than black Parkerizing or paint.

Nickel looks good at fully glossy but is a dull yellowish white.

chrome adds good corrosion resistance but looks gaudy because of how shiny it is, although it is mirror like finish.

i'm thinking that black hard chrome would be a better although very expensive finish.

wouldn't that be a better looking finish and do you think it could be tastefully done for a range toy?

  • how does gunbroker.com work?(+10 points for correct, quick info)?

sorry, new, maybe i am being an idiot, i usually used this to look for how much something should cost in a store or how rare something was, but now i see someone selling something for what seems like a bargain and have never actually signed up or really used it before.

    i read: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnCho...

    and the gunbroker help pages.

but still am confused because it seems like links upon links of info. as a buyer, do they charge you any fees other than what the seller is owed if you win?

are fixed prices fees the same as buy now option? do you include your state's sales tax when buying?

i know GCA and all but when you send the seller your contact info, do they want your name/address or that of the FFL/store?

thanks in advance for the answers.

are these worth $300-$350 in original(arsenal refurbish) condition after all fees and taxes and inflated election year prices?

is there a better site to find them than gunbroker? best slip on recoil pad(not a fan of steel buttpads)?

things to look for different than a standard Mosin 91/30?

  • is Kalinka optics a legitimate scope website?

i have my doubts because of http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/4395-do...

and they have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau-http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-rev...

as part of the top search info.

they seem to have Russian style optics on their website that not many other sites seem to have. is there a better place to order these style of scopes from?

  • Saiga-12/.410 availability?

When do you think we'll see more Saiga shotguns imported and in gun stores?

apparently they were supposedly under review by the ATF and banned from import, so they're now rare and even unconverted ones are rare? anyone got a link to prove that?

  • better bulk ammo for accuracy?

the Golden Tiger brand is FMJ with boat tail bullets. the TulAmmo is hollowpoints. they're both the same grain of 7.62x39mm.

would you say the Golden Tiger or TulAmmo is more accurate?

will the difference in bullet type affect accuracy that much?

  • Which one of these is the best ammo?

a lot of the new ranges closest to me don't like anything with steel-cores.

for "hunting" paper targets only, at about 25 yards max, out of these choices, what would you say is best based on quality?

    http://www.midwayusa.com/product/427966/tulammo-am...

    http://www.midwayusa.com/product/635871/golden-bea...

    http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/30311377-1.html

    http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2GT762FMJBX-1.html

    http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2TLUL076202BX-1.htm...

i know Hornady is usually some of the best ammo, but it is a bit pricey. the spam cans and russian stuff is mostly from the same factories and it's cheap but i've heard stories about failures to fire, and near dangerously slacking quality controls(comparing 2 bullets in one box of 20, one being near 1/4th" shorter).
