a few question about colt ARs?
looking at maybe getting a colt sp 6920 but don't really like the short and fat look over the A2/4 style(with detachable carry handle).
what would i need to buy tool/ parts wise to have it converted from carbine to rifle length and if possible reuse the f marked FSB with bayonet lug?
what sized pin holes in the lowers are they using?
timney vs geisselle; which is better?
retailers/distributors online say their 20 inch 5.56 barrels are chrome-moly, not chrome lined; who is actually making a chrome lined 20 inch barrel in 5.56 with a thick profile and threaded for an A2 flash hider?
who is making the best stock? i've heard almost nothing but good about the MagPul CTR, any other options?
if i can find one, i'd like to reuse the colt upper as they use 7075-T6 aluminum not 6061-T6 like others and higher quality parts like better BCG. and the whole 20" thing is for aesthetics. i want to be able to use good parts to customize it to use round A2 rifle length hand gaurds and a properly spec'd barrel for 5.56, which is optimal velocity and accuracy out of a 20".
it's as close to milspec as possible
still my barrel and trigger question remains.

Just buy a complete upper, press two pins out, install upper, press front pin in, install bolt and charging handle, close upper on lower and press the other pin. Tools needed is your two hands, and you still have the Colt upper intact for resale.
Also consider a nice mid length 16", a nice balance between carbine and rifle.
If you must change the barrel and FSB, you need a nice punch set, and armorers tool ( http://www.midwayusa.com/product/917607/smith-ente... ), a torque wrench, and a non marring way to secure the upper receiver.

ARs are awful guns, tiny bullets and they always jam. Not to mention you can't get too the bolt unless you take it apart, get an ak man. Better quality more reliable and hits harder.
