1 AnswerMovies8 years agolooking for an old Madonna video?
Hi, I am trying to remember a certain video that Madonna did way back whenever and can't remember the name of the song, so I can finally find it on Youtube. The video shows Madonna in shackles and I believe she was chained to a bed on the floor in a bedroom. It also shows her kind of transforming into a cougar or some kind of exotic feline. Video may have been black and white - do not recall. She was also licking bowl of milk of the floor, like a cat. Which song/video is it???

Can a TW be trained for dressage?
A friend of mine owns a fantastic, bright and very handsome TW and after pleasure riding for a few years would like to get into dressage training with him. She managed to teach him a beautiful collected trot, but he breaks out of it as soon as she shifts in the saddle or moves in whatever way. While he was learning a regular trot, he unfortunately learned to pace as well. So now we have too many gates! There is the typical running walk, the collected, extended trot that is desired and the aweful pace that she stops right away if he breaks into it but he still does it.
so we have a few questions.
Can he be trained to only trot, forgetting his other gates and how to go about it.
How does she clearly Communicate that only the trot is desired? I tell her she should never, ever let him do any other gate but the desired trot untill he knows what is wanted, but she doesn't want to loose the running walk altoghether. I say at this point she should just forget the running walk, he will never really forget it, but if she wants to train in drassage and perhaps compete at entry level, she should just forget all the other gates at this point and train only in the proper trot and the dressage gaits.
is it possible to have one signal for the trot and yet another for the tennesse walk? will not the horse get confused at this level? I think he already got confused that is why he started to pace and break out of the trot if she as much as moves in the saddle - he thinks she is asking for a change of gate. That is what it looks like in the arena. he will shift from running walk, to trot to pace and back again and at this point looks like he is "offering" all these gates on his own, not understanding which gate he is asked for by my friend. A bit of a mess...lol.
Anyone that could help, please do. This pair, my friend and her horse look like a perfect dressage couple, both are tall and handsome, but are we asking too much of a TW to become a dressage star? Do we need a special trainer that we can't afford or can we at this level keep trying on our own? should there be one signal for trot and another for running walk and if so, what would they be?

I had enough of this weather in central Ontario! I feel like it is "Groundhog Day" the movie - everyday I wake up it is same outside the window, gray clouds, wind, cold and rain. For many, many days now. I want to garden and I can't!
So let's vent!

3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoQuestion about horse jumping?
Is horse jumping a sport that has to be started early in life, like gimnastics or competitive swiming? What if a person rode for pleasure, but only started jumping 2' verticals at around 39 years of age? Is this person able to become a competitive rider at such a later point in life? Will the entry level competitions be to tough, having to compete against girls that started way early?
I am told by my coach that I am very talented and have a great horse that I make great progress with every class, I would like to try showing, but am I being silly at this age? Top competitive riders are mostly mature people that were propably "born on a horse" - do you know of anyone that started late and made a name for themselves? Anyone I could read about and learn from? And what are best shows for me to start with at my age and level? My barn teaches but doesn't show, what do I do?
7 AnswersHorses1 decade agoQuestion for long term lesbian couples/finances?
Hi, I wonder how do you share household expenses if you are living together? Do you split everything in half or perhaps one that makes more supports the other?
What if one of you was able to buy a house, so you no longer rent but move to a place own just by one of you - should the other pay her half of bills just like before, including the property tax (instead of rent that both payed in half before)? Or can the other say she is not paying nothing since it is " not her house" and she has "nothing out of it" (no ownership, that was also agreed upon prior to purchase). The purchase was made in agreement to share the bills, now one is balking and gives just a token amount a month that hardly covers the groceries and puts the owner in a position of paying for everything in order to keep the house. Now the owner is in a place where she will have to most likely sell as she was counting on her partner of seven years to pull her share. Is this fair? it's like entering a living arrangement agreement and suddenly one partner decides she is " not able to pay" , although her share of bills in the rental was higher, than it is now and she currently has a better job. And is the one that makes more money.
Please, no rude comments. I am asking because I am genuinely confused. Other than disagreeing over money the relationship seems pretty good. The owner is going to be forced to sell if this keeps up. And then what: go back to shared rent? what is the point?
4 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoWhat dvd's to buy for 18 month old child?
My little niece is very bright and I would like to buy her a dvd to watch while she is playing with her mom. I have no clue if that is not too early, and have no clue what is out there. I know I would like to get her something with animals in it, I would love for her to grow up loving nature, so I have an opportunity to teach her all about the animal world and we both can have a lot of fun in the future. Is there anything you could recomend and where would I go to look for it?
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoDo you know the wereabouts of two horses I am looking for?
The names are:
"Fun To Run" - a thoroughbred colt bred back in late 1980's or early 90's. have no idea if he ever raced and how did he do in racing, but I have met him, and named him as a weanling, six months of age.
also
"Sin Twice" a thoroughbred filly, born sometime between late 80's early 90's - also can not find any info on her on the internet.
Both thoroughbreds were named by me and were under my care as yearlings and I just could not forget them. if anyone knows anything about them, or is more adept at searching the internet, please help me find out more about them.
They were born in Ocala, Florida and the famous Jim Day was the breeder. he himself has lost track of these two promising racers and couldn't tell me anymore about their current whereabouts. Thank you for any info.
Sentiment drives me to find out anything about these two I had the pleasure to name, work with and somewhat start....perhaps you know how to search?

4 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agowhy is my male chihuahua still peeing all over the house?
I have never had chihuahua's before and it is driving me bonkers by now. He is over a year old, knows to ring a bell by the door to go outside if he wants to ( which is all the time, to play) then he comes in, and lifts a leg on my furniture! I yell at him, I scold him I even went as far as rubbing his nose in it and he still does not respect our space. My female used to do the same thing, but now she has stopped and behaves proper, she will hold it till she is turned out or rings a bell to go out. I don't get it. Nothing seems to work. He knows it's wrong I make a point of it and just does it anyway. He has a sweet disposition so I don't see that he would be doing it out of anger or issues. He has plenty of time outside whenever he wishes so. What to do? Please don't tell me to neuter him, as that is not an option for now. I do neutralize the scent whenever I clean up, but he will just sniff out a new spot and start there. I caught him in the act many times and showed him what to do immediately by walking him to the bell and outside, he still "marks" the indoors. How do I stop him? Will he ever cut it out? He poops too instead of holding it for the outside. And I am home a lot. It is not an issue of him having to hold it for too long. he just doesn't "think".
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoTennesse Walker loosing his running walk?
My friend purchased a wonderfull Walker with a fantastic running walk that she enjoyed. Recently, suddenly he stopped going into his step, instead he happily struts along in a regular trot. Which is not so "regular" as being a Walker he throws his knees kind of out and the rider gets bumped out of the saddle too much. Unless one is standing in the saddle it is impossible to sit out or post this trot.
What happened to his running walk gate? She has been trying for a week to get him to "return to normal" and there is no success. She has no idea why he would suddenly start trotting instead of doing his three beat gate, so I can not give anymore detail. Other than this sudden, unprovoked switch of gates the horse is fine, happy and pain free. There was no change in tack or routine or environment.
Any ideas? Any advice on how to get him back into this running gate? Is there a "trick" that Walker owners perform to get the gaited horses into their gates, or does it happen on its own? And can it stop on it's own.
Thanks for any help.
2 AnswersHorses1 decade agoChi drastically loosing hair after puppies?
My long haired chihuahua had a wonderful litter of pups that have all gone by now, and she started to drastically loose hair all over her body. The remaining fur is dry and had lost it's luster. I have called a friend of mine that breeds chihuahuas and she said that it was normal, that pups " take a lot out of Chihuahuas" but I look at my Chi and am starting to get worried. There is none of that wonderful long coat left on her, just straggly pieces hanging down. There is no bold spots or rash, just all over massive hair loss. I still feed her a puppy formula that she was on during nursing and other than the hair loss she is fine. Alert and happy and has no other symptoms. Is her hair going to grow back? Should I still take her to the vet or wait for further signs before I really worry.
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWho is like a ballerina on ice? (figure skating question)?
I recently caught a glimpse of a female figure skater on TV, that took my breath away. I know they are all amazing, but to me, this one lady was beyond just being able to skate on an international level. She was like a prima ballerina on ice. Now, the announcers after her show have moved on to another skater, so I do not know anything about her. I don't know what country she is from. She was brunette, skates single and I believe she was Caucasian. During her show I realized that the reason she is so good is that she appears to have a previous ballet training in her dance, that if she didn't pick up a pair of figure skates in her life, she would still be a classical dancer in ballet productions. I love the classical ballet very much, and you could clearly see it in her moves, so I wonder if any of you out there knows what I am talking about and knows who this little lady is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
5 AnswersIce Skating1 decade agoWhy does my chihuahua scratch for bedding a lot?
Day before Chrismas Eve my chichuahua had four beautiful puppies and all is well. Problem that I am having is that she wakes me up few times a night scratching area rugs through out the house, mostly in my bedroom and bathroom, where the little carpets are flufiest. She just started doing that a few days ago and she usually doesn't stop till I wake up and finally snap her out of this, tell her to go back to her puppies. Then she looks at me like" oh, right..." goes back to her welping bed that is cosy warm and fluffy as well, just to do it all over again in few hours. She wakes me up and I am exhausted by now. She starts in the evenings and continues all night, then when I wake up in the morning she is finally sound asleep in her bed all exhausted, lol. Any idea why she does this and what will make her stop? I know she was " nesting" a bit right prior to birthing, but her pups are two weeks old now, doing great and now she starts this crazy behaviour? I took away the carpets for fear that she will dmage them past point of use, she started on something else. She also walks around a lot during the night instead of sleeping. usually around my bed. She is used to sleeping with me prior to having pups, could it be that she just misses sleeping in bed with me and would like the whole family in the bedroom with me instead of a seperate bedroom, where I have put her till the puppies are ready to go? I seperated her so she has peace and quiet and also so the nursing and eventually playfull puppies don't wake us up in the night. We need our sleep! Any ideas?

10 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoQuestion for drivers out there: in your region do people drive in the wrong lane for the speed they are going?
Living in Ontario, Canada I have noticed a terrible trend on the roads, people driving very slowly in the left lane, forcing everyone to pass on the right. Is this a universal trend or is it just folks around here that are so oblivious to others trying to pass them.
When I pass on the right I catch a glimpse of a person behind the wheel and I can tell those people are clueless about the world around them at the moment. Do you think people like that are also clueless in life as well or just while driving, so oblivious to the world around them. Too scared to look around to see the bigger picture out there, and not just the yellow lane before them. I wonder if their driving represents how they are in life, not just on the road. What do you think?
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoGender & Women's Studies?
I made the mistake of checking this section out on Answers and can't believe my eyes. I have been here before, long time ago and even participated a bit not knowing that this is a "war between men and women" section. I know better now, and to spare myself the aggravation I stay away, buried in other sections, worthy of participation. today I checked in, as a question caught my eye and...yeah, right, it wasn't even a real question, but hidden female basher innocently 'just asking'. My question is, why do you think Yahoo!Answers allows this to go on stupidly like this? Why is it that there even is a section titled "Gender AND women's studies"? There is no 'studies' going on here, just bashing and insults both ways. Why not just "gender wars" which would be a lot more appropriate? Or to be fair: "Gender/ Men's and Woman's issues". why is there no section called Gender & Men's studies" so all can "study' males as some sort of specimens, the way they do here.
Do you think that allowing this section to go on like this, unchecked, is appropriate? Who really benefits from having this section around?
9 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoHow do I deal with both my best friend and my sister?
I am a grown woman that has never been "into children". I never really wanted one and didn't have any friends with kids. All of a sudden both my sister and my best friend got pregnant at the same time and a few months back both of them gave birth. Throughout both pregnancies I was there for both girls, although it really taxed me emotionally. Now the babies are here and I see that what I was worried about is comming true: they are all about being moms now, and there is not much else left to talk about. I feel like I lost both of them to "motherhood" and no, I don't share their excitement to the same extent that they do. I don't want to hear about every burp, yet whenever I call I try to be patient and be there for them in their excitement. Now there is going to be Christenings and b-days and ...double everything at that! How do I deal with a situation that brought me from "no children in my life" to "double trouble" from closest girls in my life? The girls don't know eachother well and don't hang out, so no, I do not feel "left out". I am not jelous eather, kind of feel sorry for them and their nightmares of being first time moms. I just don't know how to ever bring myself to enjoy these kids as it is expected of me on both sides. I am afraid that I will start creating space between us, just not to have to deal with the kids and "how cute they are". Because both women are important to me will I always have to sort of suffer when I am around them in their new life? They both completely lost intrest in what is going on with me anyway, so busy with their little ones, that I already feel I lost them, yet if I step back, they will think I left them.
Is there a nice way to explain to them both how I feel? Should I? aaaarg! I am lost, and kind of stuck and it is not something that will "go away" - kids are for life and I hate being called Auntie. Hate it.
2 AnswersFamily1 decade agowhy is my friend having terrible leg cramps?
My friend is having a serious problem with leg cramps. She will get one in her calve and the as she is trying to stretch it out she gets one right at the front along her shin. The pain is awful because when both cramps hit (always the same leg) she can not stretch it in eather direction to quicken the relief. I told her to start a multivitamin and magnesium, as she may be depleted of nutrients, but after two weeks she is still getting them and not just at night. We horse back ride together and it is just awefull when she gets one in the saddle. Any ideas on how to help her? which vitamines/minerals besides magnesium help subdue the cramps?

In cold climates, how cold does it have to get in a chicken coop for hens to be uncomfortable? Besides the drinking water freezing, what are the minimal temperatures that chickens can withstand?
I have four hens that I started in the summer in my uninsulated garden shed and now I worry about them with the winter coming. Insulating the whole shed is out of the question. I may run a long extension cord out to the shed to suspend a heat lamp for them, but I still need to know what is the minimum temperature that they can take. Thanks.
