  • Do cubs ever see their families again after they are grown?

I know for male lions and the other big cats, once they are about 2 or 3 they leave their pride and/or mothers. I was wondering if once they have left, if they happened to run into their mothers or families again do they still recognize them and are treated friendly or are they treated like any other stranger? I have been trying to find this out, but I can't find any info on this subject.

    Thanks for your answer!

  • What is life like on a military base?

My fiance is about to finish college at the end of this semester, then we are going to get married. He plans of joining the Marines after we get married. We will probably have to live on base, My fiance comes from a military family so he is used to this, but I have never stepped foot on a military base in my life. I am just wondering what it is like living on a base, my fiance says they are kind of like a city with in a city, and you can do almost everything on base. Is this true? What is the housing like? We are hoping he will get stationed a Camp Pendleton, since we already live in California, so if anyone lives or has lived on this base that would be really helpful. Also we don't have any kids and I am self employed and work from home, if that is helpful.

  • Help with name for my bakery?

I am working on opening my bakery. But I am still kind of up in the air about the name. I have two names in mind, 1 to name it after my grandma who tough me how to bake so option one would be Annie Bell's.

My second choice would be naming the bakery after my nickname, so I was thinking The Chubby Kitty. My nickname has always been kitty and when I was younger I was a little chubby so every one called me chubby kitty. I think it would be kind of a fun name.

I also would be open to any other suggestion you guys could give.

Note: in the future I would like to expand the business to include a cafe, so I don't want a name that is too bakery specific.

    Thanks!

  • Can your job call the funeral home to verify bereavement?

My brother recently passed away( the 3rd person in my family to pass away this year) I took my allowed bereavement days from my job, and they asked me to bring verification. I made a copy of the front of the obituary only, because when my grandma passed and I bought an extra copy of the whole obituary, my sup read it and asked me "wow you read a poem there?" it made me really uncomfortable because I felt like that wasn't any of her business and was inappropriate for her to read it and ask me that, she was only suppose to take it to hr to put in my file.

Anyway when I bought the copy of my brother's, my sup, not hr looked up the funeral home online and called them to ask if the service was there that day. They verified it was, but I feel extremely violated and feel she was totally out of line. Is this legal for a job to do this? I provided the documentation they asked for if they wanted something else, which I don't think they need any thing in the first place, they should have asked me, and it should have been handled by HR, not my supervisor.

  • good carrot cake recipe?

I have been looking for a really good carrot cake recipe. All of the recipes I have found so far use cooking oil in the cake. I have never been a fan of using oil in my cakes, I use butter. Does anyone know of a recipe that uses butter not oil, or will the cake come out ok if I just replace the oil with butter?

  • Is there a way to find out if I am about to be laid off?

There have been rumors going around my job that our company is going out of business and we will all be laid off as of July 31st. The local news stations have even shown up a few times, asking employees as they are walking in, how do we feel about being laid off. Every one is talking about it, even the supervisors have pretty much confirmed it is true, the only thing is upper management has not made any official statement or giving any official notice. They have to know we are all worried about this, so if it is not true they should come out and tell us, or if it is aren't they supposed to give us some kind of notice, it just isn't fair to leave us up in the air like this. one of the supervisor said that if a company is about to lay off more then 50 people they have to notify the state. Is this true? If so how can I find this Information? Any other suggestion on what I can do to find out if this is true, since our company has no plans to say anything to us.

Also today the cleaning ladies were given notice their contract will end on July 31st, this cant just be a coincidence.

  • Is this how you say "how can I help you" in spanish...Cómo puedo ayúdele?

If not how do you say it...this is how I am going to be using it in my paper: Is Cómo puedo ayúdele wroth more then How can I help you?

So you don't get confused my paper is about the pay difference bilingual employees receive over non-bilinguals, so it is important I have the phase worded correctly.

  • Does anyone think it is unfair to pay bilingual employees more?

I mean to pay them more in regular everyday jobs where they are performing the same tasks as non-bilingual employees.

Why I asked this question is because I currently work in a call center, and my employer recently hired a new group of employees, I think the class had about 20 people in it total, and all but three where bilingual. The bilingual employee were hired at a higher pay then those of us who have already been working there for over a year. I don't have a problem with hiring bilingual employees because I understand that it is needed, but I don't think they should be paid more simply because they are bilingual when they will be doing the same job.

Another reason I fell it is unfair, is because at my current job, the bilingual reps take fewer calls then non-bilinguals. On average English speaking rep take about 80-100 calls per day, while the bilinguals only take about 30-40 calls per day. Us English rep are slammed with back to back calls, while the bilingual reps have five, six, seven, etc. mins in between calls. so they are being paid more to do less.

Another reason is a lot of times the bilingual rep are not able to communicate effectively with english speaking customers, so this is a disadvantage. Im not saying that just beacuse you are bilingual you can not speak clear English, but I'm just making observations of what I see commonly in the workplace in this job and others I have had in the past.

I think pay should be based on experience and job performance.

  • Interior Design or Human Resources?

I'm planning to go back to school. But I'm up in the air about what to major in. I have an interest in both interior design and HR. I just wanted to get some opinions on which one I should go for. I would love to hear from people in both fields or who majored in one or the other. Which do you think will have the better job market once I finish in about two years?
