I am a 24 year old wam guy into slapstick comedy and also have a massive love for animals and currently hold a National Diploma and Degree in Companion animal care and behaviour, and also a degree in Aquatics and aquarium management, specialising in coldwater fish, and tropical Cichlids. I have bred and reared show winning tosakins and Ryukins and particularly love large adult Orandas, and also Oscars, though obviously not in the same tank. I have worked in dog behavioural training and also some work with exotics, one particular favourite past job was handrearing baby Macaw parrots.

  • What Snail bedding is best?

I have four adult African Giant land snails and even a load of eggs and new born and half grown babies. I keep them in a large aquarium for the adults and several plastic tanks for the sprogs with damp compost as substrate and then rocks and pieces of damp cork bark to climb on and hide under etc.

They do fine in this set up though when I pick them up, there is always loads of compost stuck to them which gets everywhere when I handle them or use them for my animal photography and wondered if anyone else uses a different type of substrate which is not as messy to use or when cleaning them out?

  • Odds and even Numbers?

I have an issue which seems ridiculous but I have met other people with the same issue so I am not alone. I have an issue with volume on the tv or stereo being on a even number. If I turn the volume up or down, it has to be on an even number. If it is odd, I change it up or down by one and if anyone changes the volume and leaves it as an odd then I feel really uncomfortable til it is changed to an even number again.

Is there a reason for this or a technical term for someone who does this?

  • Hair line down computer screen?

I have a samsung laptop which I've had for just over 8 months. Over the last few days, a line has appeared down the centre of the screen. Its nothing major, but it is obvious. It's a white line like a straight hair running from the top to the bottom of the screen. On white web page backgrounds, its only visible in the toolbar above and below, but on any other colour web page backgrounds its more obvious.

Does anyone know what it is and if it is a cause for concern?

  • Help! White clothes now pink?

I did a white wash with some new white cotton shirts from Burtons which were brand new but a bit itchy. Mum suggested a wash to freshen them up but I accidentally put a red sock in with them and now they have all come out tinged pink. Does anyone know if its possible to get the pink back out again?

  • Anyone else's dog scared of xmas dog toys?

Has anyone else had similar problems with the GoodBoy Rubber Piglet which grunts when you squeese it? My Dog is Terrified of it, and two friends who bought their dogs the same toy have said their dogs were both scared of it. The pig is the size of a guineapig, either pink or orange, with pointy ears and an open mouth which immits a deep grunt when squashed.

  • Why isn't my Perpetual Spinach Growing up?

I recieved a free packet of seeds for Perpetual Spinach on the front of a garden magazine, and read the article inside for growing it. The article stated that if planted in a propergator in late August, the half grown plants could be hardened off through late september and planted outside, where they would grow throughout the winter and could be used if individual leaves were picked and the plants were given time to regrow.

The problem I have is that although I planted the seeds inside in the propergator, in Mid August, the seedling have grown to be an inch tall with just four or five leaves each, then stopped growing. They have remained like this, alive but not doing anything, since about six weeks ago and have made no attempt to grow bigger.

I have potted them up into individual pots, each with its own little cloche inside the house on a windowsill with a radiator beneath, and still nothing seems to be happening.

  • If a man is travelling down a oneway street?

But is going the wrong way, then mounts the pavement on the otherside, jumps a red light, while smoking and talking on his mobile, why do the police have no right to stop him?

  • Do Birds get Vertigo?

Bit of a daft question but I'm bored. Wondered what peoples views on this would be, as birds do show some behavioural abnormalities, like ducklings raised by chickens, don't know how to swim.

  • Does anyone know what a female Goldfish is called?

I do actually know, but I thought on a whim I'd see how many other people know the answer
