I like languages and linguistics. I do my best to give good and informative answers, especially when questions are real and should be answered. Some of us are really desperate to find an answer which they can not find anywhere other than on such sites as YA. I like to help and share my experience and find that gratifying.
Why this cat behaves this way?
A relative of mine has a cat he bought when it was a kitten. It is very friendly. Every time I visit, it comes to me and, after a while it starts to lick my fingers. In my last two visits, I thought I give my hands a real scrub. Yet, the cat behaved the same. Is this normal?
4 AnswersCats9 years agoWhat happened to the "intrusive" r in the U.S.?
I mean the r in "the idear of it". Back in the 1970's it was believed to be common with those over 50. Is it still used? Which part of the country?
And to those who speak British English I want to know if it is ever learned as a mother tongue. It is common with the BBC announcers ( even drawing becomes drawring). If RP is prestigious does it follow that the intrusive r is prestigious?
