  • whats the meaning of scarey dream?

Okay, so I just had this dream where I was in my old school playground, I was running from people trying to kill me with knives and martial arts weapons, I managed to escape them while they were microwaving someone's head with a microwave hat and then found a group of people who were willing to walk me to a police station but when I got there, there was a sniper the other side of the door. Without any mumbo jumbo, does anyone know what this could mean?

  • Elvis Presley... How did that happen then eh?

Okay, I'm not one of those conspiracy theorists or anything but... If Elvis died on the 16th August 1977, how come he was buried on the 18th August 1977?

A normal funeral takes best part of a week to arrange and if an autopsy is needed that generally adds another week, just making and delivering a coffin alone takes time so how was the funeral of Elvis Presley rushed through in two days?

  • can I sue someone for contaminating my drinking water?

We have a water cooler at work but it ran out a couple of days ago so I bought some small bottles of water. I've found out today that some skanky woman has refilled the bottles out of a manky old tap in a kitchen that rarely if ever gets cleaned. I've been suffering with nausea all day before I found out what she'd done and another fella went home sick!

Does anyone know if I can sue the ***** or anything?

  • Why do people still believe in God?

They believe in God because of fear and ignorance. You can't reason with them because they have faith and pointing out that their faith is misplaced, illogical and just plain wrong makes them cling to it even more. The fact is, this universe, and probably many more like it were the result of big bangs. The science and evidence is there but because it brings into question everything they've been indoctrinated to believe in, they choose to ignore it or worse, they make up their own pseudo scientific theories to back up their ridiculous claims. They say the big bang is 'just a theory', but they don't understand the difference between an everyday theory and a scientific theory. If there was no evidence for the big bang it would be an hypothesis, it's the strong evidence which makes it a theory. Then there's the argument that religion gives them morals. As an atheist I have morals also, the difference is I choose to have them because I know right from wrong, and I treat people how I would like to be treated. If the only reason they have morals is because an invisible man in the sky offers eternal life and great rewards or if it's the fear of eternal damnation and torment that guides them then their morals are questionable to say the least. If that's what they want to believe then as long as they keep it to themselves and out of the schoolrooms, they're perfectly entitled to do so. Anyone is entitled to believe anything, it's a basic human right, but when one persons blind faith starts to interfere with another persons right to an informed education, that should not be tolerated under any circumstances. They believe their religion should be respected, and asking questions is just not right. They can't tell you why, it's just not right. I respect that they are entitled to their beliefs, even if they claim that the world is a big flat dish on a tower of never ending tortoises, but when they try to force their deluded views and opinions on me then I'm perfectly entitled to tell them to fück right off.

That's just my opinion, but would be interested to hear other views...

  • why do Christians think they can answer everything with Bible quotes?

Why do some people think they're better than other just because they can quote the bible? It doesn't mean you're any closer to God, it just means you can memorise stuff, I can do that with Macbeth but it'll never make me closer to Shakespear!

My point is, why do some people think it's important to read the bible and pray when they could be devoting that time doing more useful things, like, I dunno, helping others?

  • why are some religious people such complete and utter cretins?

So a 17 year old tells you they're pregnant, lonely and generally confused, at what point does your compassion fly out of the window? According to your bible, Jesus said my only commandment is to love each other as I have loved you, that means unconditionally and non judgementally. Are you people that self rightous that you feel you have the right to go against the words of your own 'God'?

P.S. Please notice it says 'some', not all in the question.

  • Why do some religious people think being left handed is wrong?

This is a question for all religions, and before anyone says, I'm aware it's a minority view and not everyone who thinks it, I'm just interested in where it comes from! :)

  • What do you think of this quote...?

As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice.

What's your opinion on it and does anyone know who is alleged to have said it?

  • Another question for creationist...?

As 'Wolf' pointed out in my last question, Evolution is a theory, therefore open to question. By that reckoning The theory of gravity is open to question too?

  • A question for creationists...?

Why do you believe science is wrong about evolution but right about so many other things? If you're reading this, you're using a computer (invented by scientists), if you were diagnosed with cancer, how many would turn down a treatment scientifically created and proven to work and have a good pray?
