Ibuprofen and Propranolo?
My neurologist just put me on propranolol for migraines. Im a female and its my "time of the month" Is it safe to take 800mg ibuprofen? I will only be taking one or two a day. I don t remember my neurologist saying anything bad about those two together but he also said it was safe to take my propranolol and Valium together but the pharmacist said no way so i wanted to ask. If ibuprofen isn t recommended what otc pain killer can i take for my menstrual cramps? Im allergic to naproxen
1 AnswerMedicine3 years agoCan she still get an ID?
My little sister (19) does not have her birth certificate or social security card. She had a drivers permit before but it is suspended and expired. Will she be able to just get an ID since she previously has had a picture ID or do we need to get a replacement birth certificate and social security card before we can get her one? I don t know if since she previously had one in this state if they will need all her documents again or if the computer system will still have it all on file. Thanks!

2 AnswersDogs6 years agojust got bit or stung by something?
Normally they dont bother me and i dont feel it. I was bringing the garbage can back to the house from the road. I wasnt walking anywhere abnormal. I felt a strong burning sensation on my thigh. I immediately looked down and didnt see anything drop orfly aaway. Flipped up my shorts to see if there was anything inside them (there wasnt) there is a small wound maybe half the size of an eraser. There was redness that spread to about half my thigh but its going away now but the initial mark isnt. It is not a welt. Its not swollen. If i run my hand over it its smooth. If i press on it its a little warm and hurts. I still feel the burning sensation and its been over an hour. Anyone have any ideas? I know its a long shot but i figured id ask!
1 AnswerFirst Aid7 years agodish network, external hard drive help?
I have a vip 612 reciever with dish network. Amazon had a sale on a seagate 1tb external hard drive (25 bucks!!!!! ) so i bought it. Only problem is the EHD does not have its own power supply. I was able to transfer stuff over so it does work but whats the dangers of using it? I haven't had it hooked up since i transferred everything b/c i dont want to damage either device. Is it ok to use occasionally? I wont leave it hooked up indefinitely. I will hook it up, watch whatever i want, and then unhook it. Thanks!
1 AnswerAdd-ons7 years agocant tell whats eating trees?
I have noticed for some time now tree branches falling off trees. I go to look and they look healthy except they are really lught and occasionally feel like cardboard. I noticed holes but i have never seen any insects. I will check the trees that the limbs fell from and the tree is fine and sturdy. These arent the normal twigs these are whole big branches usually about 20 pounds or more. I am im southern alabama. I dont know if its dry rot, termites, carpenter ants, etc. Is there any way to know for sure what it is? We have at least 50 trees in our back yard (some very tiny others 20-40 feet high). Our house is crawlspace and i have not noticed any mud colonies or anything of the such against the concrete. Whatever it is appears to be going away from the house towards all the trees (they line our property line). The house was inspected before we moved in in 2006 and was fine. We have trees on the right front yard and no problems its just the back yard. We have a wood shed and its fine. Its just the actual growing trees that may have some infestation of some sort. Any thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated!!

1 AnswerPain & Pain Management7 years agoDead wood feels like cardboard. Why?
I found some wood that had fallen off of my shed in my backyard. The wood feels like cardboard. Yesterday a big branch fell of my tree next to the shed and it feels the same. Im thinking either carpenter ants ir dry rot. There is no termite nest on the tree so im not thinking its that. Also in the dirt all over my back yard there are holes like something burrowed into the ground. Probably as big around as a pencil. Anyone have.any ideas? Thanks

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agowant stronger wifi signal. what do i need?
I have a netgear modem from centurylink. When im in my room on my laptop i have a signal that changes between 2 to 4 bars. My bedroom is only about 40 feet or less from my modem but its not a straight shot. Its sttraight from my modem to my bedroom door but then u turn right to go in to my room. Opening my bedroom door does not change signal strength either. For some reason my laptop will disconnect from the internet every 1-5 minutes for about 20 seconds. This is very annoying when watching youtube or playing online games. What do i need to get to make the signal stronger (to see if thats the problem and not the modem) i see wifi boosters and wifi antennas. Which is best? I want something cheap for right now. I will get something better if thats what the problem is and its not a faulty modem
4 AnswersComputer Networking8 years agoframe for head/footboard. Whats it called?
I looked up bed frame but all my results are 4 pieces of metal. I only need the sides. I have a headboard and footboard. Its a family heirloom and I believe is oak. It has indentations where the frame goes into it on each side. What is it called or do I need to just get a 4 piece set and take the 2 I need? If I do that will the 2 pieces I need fit in to the head/footboard? I know its a dumb question but I didn't know what else to look up. Even if I look up frame for head/foot board it still gives me a square frame. I just need the side pieces. Thanks
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling8 years agoNeed knowledge on possible kidney failure in dog?
I posted about my dog being anemic. Took her to the vet (just thought it was severe case of fleas) when they did her blood panel she was at 7 percent. That was bordering on having a transfusion. Vet said she had regenitive blood. Which means her blood was already repairing itself and a transfusion can cause problems so we opted against it. After a week she had not gained any weight so we took her back. Her new blood panel showed she was at 20 percent (normal is 35) so she is doing great building her blood back up. She has not gained any weight at all. First time she weighed 5.13 pounds when we took her back she weighed 5.11 pounds. She eats but just not like we want. She has ulcers in her mouth and occasionally has bad breath so the vet says she has kidney failure. I have to take her back in a week with a urine sample as long as she doesnt get worse. She acts perfectly normal just not a big appetite. Its like she has trouble chewing. I thnink its something with her teeth (her baby fangs never fell out so she has double fangs) but the vet thinks otherwise. Does anybody have any experience with kidney failure that they can tell me signs and symptoms? Looking it up online doesnt help b/c she doesnt have any of the symptoms. Shes not excessively thirsty or lethargic. Nothing she barks, drinks, eats a little, wags her tail we just cant get her to gain weight. Hes got her on something to help coat her stomach and on pepcid for the ulcers. Shes only 3 so shes young. Im doing everything i can to help. I bought a bunch of different brands of food to find what she likes best and feed her whatever i can get her to eat. Im just at a loss and frustrated b/c the vets wont listen to me. I go to a clinic that has 5 dif vets working there and am very happy except for confusing cases. They jump to wanting to put the dog to sleep instead of taking the time to definitely get a diagnosis. Thanks
9 AnswersDogs8 years agoCan i bathe my dog that uses topical?
My dog is epileptic and on phenobarb so i used to give him a couple flea baths a week with an all natural shampoo. Yesterday i talked to my vet about flea killer options and decided to go with advantage. Its the topical that goes on his back and its working really good (just a few fleas every now and then). Whenever i do the dishes he looks at me and begs to get a bath. Can i bathe him when this stuff is on. How long until i can bathe him. Can i use soap (wont use flea shampoo) or is just water better? Thanks
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoDog having trouble chewing or swallowing?
First off let me say i am taking my dog to the vet in the morning so spare me the "bad owner" comments please. I noticed today my dog was really thin. I watched her eat today and she would take a couple bits and gently try to chew them. She ate them but only a couple bits. I pulled out a can of moist food and tried to give it to her. If it was in a bowl she wouldnt eat it and if it was on a spoon she wouldnt eat it. If i put it on a knife she would gently take it off and eat it but again only a couple bites. So i did this all day long. Even gave her some chicken salad and it was the same. When she drinks she tilts her head to the side but she still drinks. Shes weak but not really acting weird. Her gums are pale but not too bad. If i try to kiss her she growls but thats normal for her so thats good. I opened her mouth and shone a flashlight to check for anything stuck or any abscesses but couldnt find any. She has plaque on her teeth but i didnt find any broken or missing teeth. So im completely stumped. Does anyone have any ideas on what it is or what i need to have the vet check for? Im asking b/c vets dont know everything. My vet said one of my dogs had worms. They treated him and gave him TWO blood transfusions and the dog still died. Come to find out it was coccidia and could have been cured with one pill so from now on i want to be informed when i go to the vet. Sorry this is so long just wanted to give as much detail as possible in hopes of helping her! Thanks
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoDog "training" collars?
This is just a curious question. I have small dogs and would never use one but just wondering: are the metal chain training collars (with the sharp prongs) ok to use? They seem brutal and cruel. Like the prongs would poke into the dogs neck and make it bleed to death. Idk maybe its just me. How do you guys feel about them?
12 AnswersDogs8 years agoGot bit by weird bug. need help identifying it?
I just took my dog outside and i got bit by something. If it was a spider it was a weird one. It had a big abdomen and an equal size head. When i first saw it it reminded me of what a baby bee might look like except it doesnt fly. It was a little bigger than an ant but its abdomen was round so i know it wasent an ant. It didnt have any colors on it. Sorry if the discription isnt that great but i only saw it briefly while i got it off my toe. The bite is red, swollen, and burning and itching like an ant bite. I live in southern alabama if it helps.
1 AnswerOther - Diseases8 years ago6 yr old dog had first full seizure?
My dog molly had her first full seizure tonight. She had sugar seizures when she was born and has had one mini seizure (she just wobbled a little not full stiff seizure) She is 6 years old. Her son walter is 3 and is epileptic and takes phenobarb for it. What is the chance it was a one time thing? I dont know if dogs can develop epilepsy as they get older or not. Her mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, and brother have never/ never had a seizure in their life. But like i said her son is full on epileptic. She wasent doing anything strenuous when it happened either. If she ever has another she will go to the vet for tests. Walter has had full blood workup etc to find the root cause of his. Everything came back fine so its just epilepsy with no underlying cause. When she came out of it she was fine. Jumping around wagging her tail etc. I know what to check for b/c of wwalter. Could it be a sugafr thing or more likely epilepsy or just an isolated incident? Thanks!
5 AnswersDogs8 years agoHow to watch showtime online with dish network?
Is there anyway i can watch showtime online via the internet? I have subscribed to it via dish network. Problem is right now only my moms tv has the satellite hooked up and shes in bed when dexter comes on on sunday nights. Dish does not support the showtime anytime app so there is no point in downloading anything. If there is no way to watch it im going to cancel showtime and save myself 13 dollars a month. Thanks!
Other - Internet8 years agoEpileptic dog whats best for fleas?
My dog is on phenobarbitol for epilepsy (one month seizure free tomorrow YAY!) i think my whole town has a bad flea problem. They have never been this bad. They r in the front yard and back yard. I have sevin dust to treat the yard. I have flea spray for the house. I tried frontline on him did no good. Gave another dog a comfortis pill and it had no effect. The one that got the pill was never flea free just not as many on her. I bought some all natural shampoo for walter and it killed some but they came right back. I dont want to give him oral treatments b/c of the phenobarb. Right now all i do is have him lay in a sink full of water up to his neck for about 10 minutes until they drown. I do this about twice a week. I dont know what else to do. They seem to be super resistant mutant fleas and its making me mad. I cant take him for a walk without them jumping on my legs. Anybody know of anything else i can use on him? Or anyway to help get the problem under control at least for my yard? I can play with him in my yard only if need be just need to find away to keep the fleas off my yard or a way to repel them off walter. Thanks!
1 AnswerDogs8 years agoHow hard is it to replace water heater element?
Used a voltage meter b/c showers only last 5-10 minutes. No reading on hwh. Bought the element yesterday also bought the special wrench. How hard is it to change out the element? The hwh is outside in the utility room so some water leaking out wont b a problem. Im not sure what brand it is but its 83 gallons (which is a weird size) i will make sure the element i bought is the proper wattage b4 i try to change it. Just curious as to how hard it will be. The lower element is the one that has no reading on the meter. Do lower elements have a reset button that i can check first? The top element is coroded but i will wait to change that until i make sure i fixed the bottom properly. Replaceing the whole unit isnt an option right now. B/c of the size of my hwh it will require alot of labor to fit another size to the fittings and theres no leak or anything just a couple problems that go away on there own (breaker has tripped twice and caused the pressure relief valve to leak for a couple days but it eventually stops on its own) thanks!
