Hi - How can I find the approximate proportion of observation when only having the MEAN and STANDARD DEVIATION. For example:

A set of data with a bell shaped histogram yields a mean and standard deviation of 50 and 4.

Approx. what proportions of observations are between...

46 and 54-

42 and 58-

38 and 62-

How do I figure this out? I have looked in chapters of my statistics book and also googled many things. Can anyone help? Thank you so much!

Okay so the beginning of my LMP was around 9/6/2012.

I feel I may be pregnant. I have been peeing every 30-45min. I NEVER wake up at night to pee and have been doing that. This is really the only big change I notice. I feel my breasts may be a little sore...more from the inside, not to the touch.

Also, Sunday or Monday I had some very light pink/light brown spotting. Implantation bleeding? This was about 3-5 days before expected period, which is right about now. I had a VERY small amount of light brown spotting today. I think I feel period-like cramping. I know my body pretty well and usually I will get some cramping and a very achey back, a decent amount of brown spotting then AF later in the day or the next day, or full on red AF soon after I feel cramps which can range from very bad to ...ya they are definitely there. What do women usualyl feel during the week they are suppose to have their period? I know everyone is different...but, share please! :)

These are more dull and twingy cramps. My back does not feel achey. I may have just never noticed...but I never remember a very light pink and light brown spotting mixture several days before my period is due. It was just that one day and then nothing after. I do not have any sort of pain. If I am pregnant I would be 3.5-4 weeks. I took a pregnancy test last night and it was negative, but my urine was extremely diluted...it looked clear. I took another one this morning when it was more yellow (sorry for TMI) and it was still negative. I have been peeing so much though and trying to stay hydrated so I am not sure how reliable my pee is. :/

If I do not get my period by Saturday I am either extremely late or I will go with pregnant. I am very very impatient as I am sure you understand! I feel like I am "aware" of my uterus if that makes any sense. The few small cramps I do get are SO faint. i don't know....I just wanted to put this out there and see what women think that have been or are pregnant.

What do you think girls!?

I met my great love. We both had to grow as most people do. He made mistakes that I dwelled on, then I acted out in ways he could not handle. We were always loyal to one another and we were each other's best friend. I ultimately pushed him away. I feel I may have done it on purpose, knowing I was not ready to forgive in the way I needed. I wish he just left for a month or so than came back. I needed to wake up. He's gone now... he is extremely stubborn and will let pride get in the way of his heart. He knew I was his soul mate, and I know he is mine - will time bring him back?

Do you think if you are meant to be with someone that love truly finds a way? I know he loved me, and I know how I made it so he would feel he had to leave. I have never felt this way for anyone and never could again. I could go on and on with details...but I really just want to know - giving him this space and moving on with my life, staying focused on positive things...that is the right way, right? If I just stay focused, not get caught up in depression, and live my life, IF he is my soulmate - he'll come back someday right? I did try when he first left for him to come back - but he was adamant on "no" and I completely understand why he would feel he "had" to say that. It was not "want" it was he had to. The bottom line, we did love each other. What we had was rare and so special. Do soul mates always come back to each other if you continue to be a good person and move on?

I truly hope someone can help me with this. I've tried Dr. Google and some other sources...to no avail.

My fiance, prior to meeting me was VERY cold...seemingly detached. He is 100% German and was the sterotypical German. Robotic, not affectionate. When we started dating he would never hug or kiss hello OR goodbye. He would initiate sex at night, at bedtime, when he was drunk.

After I mentioned the kissing goodbye thing he said "oh...I don't know why I haven't...I promise I will do better next time."

So he started doing that... okay...in a nutshell he got better over time. We have been together a year and are now engaged.

He has an issue that I want to understand. He gets uncomfortable or embarrassed if people ask him about us being engaged. He does not like to talk to me on the phone in front of his co workers really... especially if I am upset he is incapable of continuing the conversation. I do not expect him to argue in front of them...but he literally cannot speak...cat TAKES his tongue and he will hang up the phone because he does not know what to do. He will then e-mail me.

This seems all so minor but it's like some physiological response... he feels weird saying "I love you" to me in front of people.

When we were first together...I sent a FB relationship request...he reluctantly accepted and deleted the feed hoping no one would see it. It made him embarrassed. He even talked to his friend about how he wishes no one would see it.

I had to pretty much get in a fight with him to say I love you... he is just weird.

Point is...he is very romantic now with me...alone, in email, etc...but for instance if someone talks about our being engaged he freezes up. Why is this?

It makes me feel like he is embarrassed to be with me but I know that is not the case...so why is he like that? He can talk about anything else with people...meaningless stuff, funny stuff.... why does matters of the heart make him SO uncomfortable.

Yesterday he was on the phone at work and he knew he was starting to freeze up...and he told me later that he had started shaking...

I hope someone understands what I am saying. If you need more info let me know!

I just adopted another dog...he was saved from a kill shelter in Tennessee. He is 1.5 years and 55-65lbs. He was found at 6 months running around wild...was pretty thin. He has a VERY high prey instinct and intimidates any dog he meets. He is extremely intelligent and alert...always studying all things and people he sees. His eyes re piercing. If he is a feral mix I do not think it is very high content...but just wondering what you guys think? Here are 4 photos:

Recently adopted a 30 year old Moluccan Cockatoo. She had been at the shelter 4 months and everyone said she was very friendly. Please only answer this question if you have had Umbrella or Moluccan Too's or are an expert.

The large cage door was open but she walked to the bottom of the cage, the corner, and pretty much signaled me over there with her "hello." She pressed her head and neck against the cage as usual for some scratches and feather preening...she lifted up her wings so I could get under there and this went on for about 20min.. she was happy and calm... suddenly she flapped her wings rapidly and climbed out of the cage... (the behavior following is what I want to understand)

She climbed to the top of the cage; extended the crest, had her wings a little up away from her body but not extended, and she was stomping one foot down repeatedly. She was also giving a swift bie to the cage bars and then snapping her neck while staring at me. Then she would turn her back and repeat all this. Then she stepped down to the cage door and stomped there as well. I could not find anything on google about the neck snapping (to the left/right) and beak on cage and stomping. I found a couple things regarding stomping but not definitive..and it talked about how it meant contentment but I did NOT get that feeling. I tried to speak to her in a calm way but she did not stop so I left the room for a few minutes..when I went back...it continued. I left the room again for longer and then she was just sitting on top of the cage..seemingly relaxed with her beak feathers out around her beak..and was back to saying hello a short while after that and looking for rubs. Any information about this would be very much appreciated!

Okay, so if someone sends me an e-mail (I have a g-mail account) the text is black of course unless they change it-but what if one of their sentences is purple? For example...my boyfriend wrote me an e-mail and at the end he wrote "I will talk to you soon!!!" That was in purple. Why? He wrote a few things after that, and that was in the normal black. doesn't the purple mean copy/pasted? Please let me know! can it mean something else? Could not find anything, expected one unanswered question, on the internet. Anyone know about this g-mail "feature?"
