  • How to get to Andorra from Barcelona?

I am going to be in Barcelona for a few days this summer and would like to take a day trip to Andorra. I know it will be a long day and am interested in the easiest way to get there. Are there private companies that offer one day excursions there? If I took a bus, what are the bus times each way, drop off and pick up locations, costs, etc?

  • Where can I volunteer to walk dogs in East Lakeview?

I live in East Lakeview and would like to volunteer a few hours a week walking dogs that are in an animal shelter. I work a lot and don't have a car, so I would really prefer to do this close to home. Please let me know of any dog rescues/shelters that are looking for volunteers to walk the dogs. Thank you!

  • Best Doner Kebab in Frankfurt?

I used to live in Luxembourg, and miss Doner Kebabs like you couldn't imagine. On my way home from Croatia, I will have a 6.5 hour lay over in Frankfurt. I figure that this will allow enough time for me to leave the airport and get a doner kebab. Since this will be my first one in 4 year, and probably my last for another 4 years, I want it to be good.

Please let me know your favorite Doner Kebab spot - name and location would be greatly appreciated!

  • Should I go to Croatia or Spain & Portugal?

I want to spend 5-10 days in Europe this spring, but cannot decide where to go. I used to live in Europe, and have travelled pretty much everywhere except this places.

Please let me know what your experiences have been in either place, how much money I would probably spend (I am a frugal traveller), anything important to know about culture or language (I'm a 24 yr old female and would be alone, but am a confident/smart traveller)

I've checked train sites and cannot find how to best travel from Zagreb to Dubrovnik or from Seville/Madrid to Lisbon.

I am looking to go between Feb. and April - is there anytime in those months that is best?

    Thanks!

  • I realize this is an odd question and mean no offense by it . . . but I'm curious?

My coworkers and I were discussing racial and religious social issues today and we got on the topic of how racism can be a learned behavior. One of my coworkers thinks it is racist that his girlfriends parents, who are Thai, would not approve of her marrying a caucasian man.

This lead to a story of my friend who had to convert to Judaism to marry his wife. Under the pretense set by my coworker's statement, would this be anti-anti-semetism, or semetism. We couldn't decide what to call it.

  • How to help a friend get through a bad breakup?

My best friend was recently broken up with by the man we all thought she was going to marry. It came out of the blue, and she has been horribly sad for weeks over it. She and I live in different states, but she has many close friends around, a good job, a great apartment, etc. I just don't know what to do for her.

Does anyone have suggestions of things they have done for a friend or that a friend has done for them to help?

  • Harry Potter Book 6 Mistake?

In Slughorn's memory of telling Voldy about the Horcruxes, Slughorn makes mention that the headmaster, Dumbledore, would not approve of this conversation and of a professor telling a student about such dark magic.

However, in a later memory of Dumbledore's when Voldy comes to ask for the position of DADA professor, Voldy congradulated Dumbledore on becoming headmaster.

Is this a mistake in the book? Dumbledore should have been headmaster only in the second memory, right?

  • Harry Potter 7 - Inconsistencies - SPOILER!!!!!!!!?

Am I missing something with these, or are they just little mistakes?

    1. How were Mad-Eye's protective enchantments on Grimmauld Place still intact (pg 170) after his death? Once a wizard dies, his spells are no longer active (as seen by Dumbledore's body bind spell against Harry and protective spells for Hogwarts ceasing to exist in book 6)

    2. Hermione said on pg 167 that she had never performed a memory charm before when she was erasing the memories of the death eaters in the cafe; however, on pg 97 she refernced altering her parents' memories.

    3. Dumbledore said that he borrowed James's cloak days before the Potter's death, but in Lily's letter to Sirius that thanked him for his b-day present for Harry, she mentioned that Dumbledore had the cloak. Harry's birthday was exactly 3 months before their death.

  • Is there anywhere in Chicago to get a Donner Kebab?

I used to live in Europe, and cannot stop thinking about these tasty treats. However, I cannot find them anywhere in the States (and I've tried, believe me). Any thoughts on authentic donner kebabs in Chicago (gyros just won't do any longer)?
