I was doing a past perfect/simple quiz at UsingEnglish.com and ran across a question "She told me she _____ a long time ago". It was a multiple choice quiz and I could choose between: had done, did and both. I instinctively opted for "had done" but when I saw the results, it said it was incorrect. Could this be some sort of mistake? This is obviously reported speech, so how is "did" correct?

4 AnswersWords & Wordplay4 years agoWhy are my hair and face so oily all of a sudden?
I m 18 years old and and almost half a year ago, I noticed that my hair had started getting oily hours after washing it. I.e, if I wash my hair at 10 am, it ll already be oily by the time I go to bed. I ve been washing my hair every 2 days since forever and this only started happening recently. My face also started getting immensely oily around the same time. I have to wash it every 1-2 h since it drives me nuts. Could this be some sort of late puberty hormone change? I hope this won t last forever.. lol
1 AnswerOther - Health5 years agoWhat can I do about my flyaway hairs?
Ok so I'm a guy and I've been growing my hair out for almost 2 years now and I've started to notice these little hairs all over my head. They are much shorter than the rest of my hair and won't go down no matter what I do. I don't iron my hair, I don't dye my hair, I don't use products except for my shampoo and conditioner. Are those little flyaways going to grow and blend in with the rest of my hair or what?
