  • Too much fast food = poor overall health?

I’m a 20 year old guy who has recently been caught up in the hectic lifestyle of work and school and I eat fast food wayyy too much than I’d like to. Honestly pretty much every day. My cholesterol, blood pressure, and health are all normal, however I’ve noticed a general overall poor feeling of health, mostly at the end of the day. My joints tend to get kind of achy, and I get a lot more gas pain than I used to get. Is this something other people have experienced? Do you think switching to a healthy diet will improve this? Or is it all in my head. Thank you to any answers!

  • Mucus in stool?

Not to be TMI... but I went to the bathroom earlier to pass gas (because it felt like more than gas) and in addition to passing gas, a small amount (like a tablespoon maybe) if clear gel-like substance came out. Since then (partly because of nerves since i’m a huge hypochondriac) I’ve gone to the bathroom several times and passed stool that was NOT loose, and had some additional gel-like substance. It’s not a ton of it.. there’s no pain, no diarrhea, just some normal gas from nerves and some clear-gel like substance. This has happened to me before a few years ago when I experienced a flare up of IBS.. but not out of the blue. I’m just wondering if this is something I should keep an eye on? Or something I should get checked out immediately. I have no other symptoms to believe that I have an infection or a parasite, and if my bowels were inflamed, I’d experience pain and loose stool correct? Thank you for any help 💕

  • Is urethritis detectable in a urine cultutre? *please read*?

I’m a male and for the past two weeks I have been experiencing symptoms or Urethritis (itchy urethra, slight urge to urinate). I recently got tested for three STDs (ghonorrhea, chlamydia, and trigonomis) and had a UTI test. Everything showed up negative. However, my question is... can Non-Ghonococcal urethritis show up in a urine culture? Or does a urine culture test for everything? My only symptom is an itchy urethra and a slight urge to urinate more frequently, but because of the UTI culture showing up negative, i’m extremely worried that I have Herpes. I recently had unprotected anal sex.. so an e-coli infection seems very possible... but would that show up negative in a UTI culture? Are UTI cultires able to test for Urethritis? Thank you for any help.

  • Hearing intrusive thoughts in my head?

I just got off of a long weekend at a grocery store where I work, and the house is quiet. But in my mind, I ve been hearing repeated phrases that normally occur at work (for instance "remove all items from the belt and try again"). I know they are in my head, I don t think that they re actually coming from an outside source. However, I can "hear" them. But I m able to tune them out. I am also able to play music in my head, I ve been doing this since I was a child, but this is the first time that these noises are involuntary. Does this sound like intrusive thoughts? They aren t voices telling me what to do or whatever so I don t think it s schizophrenia. I do have an anxiety disorder. Thank you for any help!

  • Is Nebraska a good name for a girl?

I recently heard Nebraska be used as a name in Kimbra's 2011 song "Settle Down" (where she references naming her child "Nebraska Jones")... but I really love that name. I looked up the popularity of it and nobody / very few people are actually named Nebraska in the United States. Hypothetically.. would naming my child Nebraska be strange or out of the ordinary? How would you react to seeing a child named Nebraska?

  • Gallium and Lead = lower Gallium melting point?

A few days ago I was experimenting with some Gallium. I melted a bead of gallium, and added two lead air soft gun pellets to the melted bead, and let it sit. Ever since then, the gallium bead has stayed in a melted form.. even with the introduction of very cold water. It s been several days and the Gallium is still liquid, far below the 85.58 degree melting point. What is this? Is this a discovery?

  • Are there currently leaves on the trees in Alabama?

I'm traveling to the SouthEast in a week, and I was wondering if there is foliage out on the trees in central Alabama already? It's cold where I am in Massachusetts, and in Alabama it should be 80F while I'm there.

  • Should I come out to my parents?

I'm a 17 year old boy who just came out as bisexual to a group of friends. They were really overwhelmingly supportive. But the next step.. Should I get into a relationship, tell everyone, and then tell my parents? Or should I tell my parents, then tell everyone else, and then see what happens? My parents would be supportive of me.

  • Sexual attraction to men, emotionally attracted to women? Guy?

Hi. I'm a 17 year old boy. Throughout my life I have had "crushes" on females and males, starting in the 3rd grade or so.. But the crushes turned into sexual attraction mainly toward guys. I think porn came into play with this too. I still have emotional attraction toward some girls.. And it's one of those "why the hell aren't you two dating yet" type of attraction, but there is just ZERO sexual appeal whatsoever. If I was attracted to them sexually, I would definitely be in a relationship with them! But I'm sexually AND emotionally attracted to some guys. I just came out as Bisexual. Any similar struggles?

  • Huge eye floaters in both eyes at once?

I started taking minocycline for my acne about two weeks ago. Today, I noticed in both my eyes, that when looking at a bright object and I move my view from side to side, a big blur will follow in both of my eyes. It's the same thing as when you try to look at an eye floater and it darts away. This is a big area that seems to cloud the vision temporarily as it passes over the bright object. In BOTH eyes... so it might not be a retinal detachment or tear (because it happened at the exact same time in both of my eyes). It doesn't obscure my vision in any way really... it's just an annoyance. I looked in my eyes with a flashlight and I cant see anything in the pupil... Is this the acne medication? My mom isn't just going to rush me out to an eye doctor because I'm a huge hypochondriac and she knows I overblow things. But I don't want to play with my vision.

  • How hard is it to play the Saxophone?

I'm 17 years old and I love music. I can play the piano and I was wondering, on a relative scale from 1-10, how hard is it to play the saxophone? I'd LOVE to take it up. Is it expensive also?

  • Music seems faster sometimes?

In the mornings when I play music in the shower, the songs seem much faster than they normally do. Obviously it's the same speed. I was also listening to a song (lean on by major lazer) tonight and it seemed MUCH faster than normal and it freaked me out. Is this normal?

  • Thinking about how lucky we are to be alive/exist makes me feel really strange?

When I think about how strange it is that the Earth was created in a perfect location, and then how strange it is that I am even alive, breathing, and conscious at all, I feel very strange, anxiety-ridden, and almost depressed. Sometimes I feel elated, other times I feel overly-conscious of my existence and I feel this strange hopeless feeling. Anyone else??

  • Finding religion unsettling and uncomfortable?

I used to be "religious" when I was younger. I didn t go to church, but my family talked about God and stuff, and how there was a heaven, and I assumed that I would go there when I die. As I got older, I realized that there were a lot of rules, and how hateful religious people are. Then I realized that I might be bisexual, (I haven t come out at all yet, I want to experiment first with both genders before I label myself) and I realized that Christians are so brainwashed when it comes to that sort of thing. I m going to hell apparently. Then I realized that in order to "get into heaven", I have to truly believe, and when I try to, I can t. There is no evidence whatsoever except for a book and some paintings, and I am deeply unsettled by the cultish society that is religion. When I pray, I feel like I m talking to myself. If I try to "open up to god" I feel downright silly because I don t feel anything, and I don t really want to, because of how intolerant, rude, and crazy these people are. What do I do?

  • Has anyone else felt this weird feeling?

Since I was younger, maybe 5-6 (I'm a 17 year old boy now) and up to now, I would sit and concentrate really hard on the feeling of my body and think about being alive and being conscious, and almost "get to the bottom" of my eyesight and thoughts, and all of a sudden I would feel really hopeless, sad, and extreme anxiety, and it would feel like the world is closing in all around me and almost like I had "decoded life" or "re-wired my brain", and I would feel very, very strange. It is THE most hopeless and helpless feeling that I've ever felt... like I'm completely disconnected from the world and nobody can help or comfort me because they're humans too and are also "decoded".

This feeling would persist for 30 seconds or so until I became distracted again and went on living normally.

In recent years it has been much easier to bring up that feeling and I have regular panic attacks because of it.

    Has ANYONE else experienced that??

  • RAI Score for Iowa Universities?

Hi everyone. I'm a junior in Massachusetts and will be entering my senior year in a few days. I have a 3.13 GPA and received a 530 math, and 600 critical reading on my SAT.. But I will take it again.

I just did my RAI Score, and it was a 246. For Iowa residence, it needs to be a 245 to get in. Good to go right? WRONG! For out-of-staters, it needs to be a 255!! Do I have time to raise my RAI if I study really hard this year? I still have my entire Senior year ahead and time to raise it a few points.
