  • marine corps enlisting?

I am currently an electrical engineering student in NROTC marine option. I'm applying for scholarship and PLC currently, but doubt I will get it. If I were to graduate with a B.E. degree in electrical engineering, then enlist. Which MOS would I be able to apply my degree in? Is E2 out of PI the only benefit I would get from college?

  • Joining NROTC as a marine option?

I am currently filling out the paper work to join NROTC for next fall when i will be a freshman in college. I want to be a marine option, and i'm not currently applying for any scholarships. i was wondering if they have high standards of fitness for new individuals joining or if they expect to build us up to their standards. I am in decent physical shape, i was a varsity rower on my school's crew team. but i know im not quite at the marine standards.

i want to know if they would deny me from joining because im not at their high standards yet, or if they would accept me and train me up to their standards.

  • Is more than 20 credits too much?

I have plans for next year to attend college. i was wondering if taking more than 20 credits (about 22-23) seems like too much to do, along with wanting to be on the rowing team and ROTC.

  • Is it difficult to get into NROTC marine option?

I want to join the marines, and next year im attending a college with NROTC and i want to join it as a marine option. I did not pursue the four year scholarship because i wasn't sure if i wanted to do ROTC or OCS. What i was wondering is if it will be very difficult to get into the NROTC marine option program. I think my grades and test scores are more than adequate with a 87 average and 1270 composite SAT score.

Also what level of physical fitness do you feel is the minimum i would need to get accepted? Not the actual minimums set by the rules, but more like the average accepted.

  • what is the name of this mental disorder?

Is their any mental disorders that result in the individual needing power over others? If i was to explain it, it would be as the person likes being in control of another person's life, such as their actions and decisions. And if they didn't have a power or control of someone, that they replace it with animals. (none of this in an abusive way)

if there is any disorder like the one im describing, is there a name for it? or is are these traits im describing just a mess messed up person?

  • NROTC scholarships: do you get anything out of it more than money?

i was thinking of doing nrotc next year and want to know if i get more than just money out of it. i have no problem with paying for college (my father is a business owner willing to pay for it) being that money isn't any issue and im going to an instate state university, would you still recommend doing the scholarship and owing 8 years or just do it without the scholarship and owing only 3 years? also are there any benefits to doing scholarship other than money?

  • why is having a college degree required for a commission?

i understand that to become an officer in any branch of the military that you need a degree. but why is it that they wont let a sgt be an officer without a degree. i know they can go to college then come back and get the commission, but why not without it?

im sure a sgt who has served for 10+ years would make a better 2nd lieutenant than any body fresh out of college.
