I have two girls ages 11 and 6. I talk with them about sex. Not details. My 6 year old knows no one can touch certain parts of her body ever. That's the extent of her knowledge. My 11 year old pretty much knows what sex is. She came to me and asked so I asked her what she knew. Then I corrected her friends thinking. Now, a friend of mine told me the only thing I could ever hope to accomplish by that is putting ideas in her head. She has a teenager and they have not discussed sex. Personally, I feel I was totally right and will not change anything on this subject. Just looking for opinions. When did you or will you talk about sex with your children?

When I was growing up, my parents occasionally spanked me, I got soap when I cussed and they were downright strict with rules. I couldn't do anything Until I was old enough or mature enough to deal with the consequences of my actions. I love them dearly for it. I am a strong, loving person who knows right from wrong and I thank God for my parents being the way they are. Am I the only one?

Scenario: Someone breaks into your house. He gets into your child's room. He has a gun pointed at her.

In my state, if you protect your CHILD in a way that takes the bad guys life, they will prosecute you for murder.

How many people think this is acceptable?

Personally, I would go to jail in a heartbeat to keep my kids alive.

I know that this is not exactly the right place, but parents are usually pretty smart. Help.Please!! She's in the fifth grade and she needs a project. I'm at a complete loss. Any ideas?
