what statistical test should I use?
A. the data from 18 past kentucky derby is shown with the winning horse and its sire (father) and the mean pre-derby price of each sire's offspring and a mean post-derby price for offspring. Does siring of the winner of the kentucky derby change the mean offspring price from pre-derby to post-derby?
What statitical test would I run in SPSS?
B. What test would I run if I wanted to determine if there was a relationship between pre-derby and post-derby price
C. Use the pre-derby price to predict the post derby price (what test?)
I was thinking Pearson r and a linear regression maybe?
3 AnswersMathematics8 years agoMy boyfriend loves me but is having doubts about our relationship?
My boyfriend and I are very much in love and have been for a while. I love him so much. We recently got into an argument about sex, because I'm concerned why he doesn't seem interested in having sex with me anymore. He explained that he just doesn't need it everyday and I needed to relax. (This was last week) We had another talk tonight and he said he honestly isn't interested in having sex, and that it wasn't because I'm not attractive or he doesn't want to have sex with me at all, but that he's just not really interested except maybe sometimes (he's 22 and this lack of sex/loss of interest has happened in the last month or so).
I then asked him if he still saw us getting married and having kids in the near future (like we have talked about for months with out having a single doubt) and he said he didn't know anymore. That he's confused and worried about us (but he says he doesnt know why) and he doesn't know how he feels anymore except that he loves me and doesn't want to loose me and does not want to break up. I'm so scared about our relationship. I do not want this to end. He is the one for me and it terrifies me when he says he doesn't know. Especially when he said that before all of this happened he would have said yes to the marriage/kids question without a doubt.
I desperately need some advice. Or some guidance. Please help.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoMy boyfriend seems uninterested in me/sex?
I've been with my boyfriend for a while now and we very much love each other. We lost our virginity to one another, and in the beginning we had great sex very often and now we have had sex maybe once in the last month and a half (and it was awful). I ended up talking to him about it an his obvious lack of interest in sex with me and he just said that I want it too much and he just wants to "be" with me like we used to. He said he doesn't need sex all the time and I needed to stop (i love having sex and i dont know what i need to stop) Obviously from my point of view I'm hurt and feel unattractive and not wanted. I've tried initiating and he simply tells me he's not in the mood or he's too tired. I've bought sex toys and lingerie to excite him and have gotten no reaction out of him. It's hard being in a relationship when you feel unwanted and unattractive. I feel like, at least from my perspective, our relationship is becoming strained because of this. I don't know what more I can do. This little part of our relationship is destroying my self esteem.

My boyfriend can't ejaculate. He can have dry orgasms but no matter what we do he can't ejaculate. He says he can't do it by himself either. He told me he hasn't ejaculated in 3 months. Every time we try he gets really close but never is able to get it all the way. Is there something wrong with him? Should he see a doctor? We are starting to get really worried.

1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance8 years agoHelp with accounting perpetual inventory question?
A company made the following merchandise perchance and sales the month of July:
July 1- beginning inventory 380 units @ $15=$5,700
July 5- purchased 270 units @ $20=$5,400
July 9- sold 500 units @ $55=$27,500
July 14- purchased 300 units @ $24=7,200
July 20- sold 250 units @ $55=$13,750
July 30- purchased 250 units @ $30=$7,500
The company is using the perpetual method. During the one month 1,200 units were available for sale with a cost of $25,800. At July 31 the ending inventory of this product consisted of 450 units. Total sales for the month were $41,250 (750 units x $55)
Determine the cost the year end inventory, the cost of goods sold, and the gross profit for this product under each of the following methods of inventory valuation: first in, first out and last in, first out.

In silkmoths (Bombyx mori), red eyes (re) and white-banded wing (wb) are encoded by two
mutant alleles that are recessive to the wild-type traits black eye (re+) and unbanded wing (wb+);
these two genes are on the same chromosome. A graduate student has two different lines of
moths, A and B, that both show the wild-type traits (black eye and unbanded wing). He is unsure if
the two lines are heterozygous for either or both traits, and whether they have the same allele
linkage arrangements. He testcrosses females from each line with red eyed, white-banded wing
males and obtains the following progeny:
Progeny of:
Phenotype A females, B females
wild type 418, 8
red eye 16, 210
white-banded wing 19, 216
red eye, white-banded wing 426, 9
a) Explain whether these lines of moths (A and B) are homozygous or heterozygous for both
characteristics (eye color and wing banding), and why different proportions of progeny are
produced when each of the lines A and B are testcrossed.
'
b) Give the genotypes of moths A and B, indicating the linkage arrangement of the alleles on the
homologous chromosomes in each case (i.e., coupling or repulsion).
c) Determine map distance

Please help with this problem! I'm pretty lost on how to do it
The following X-linked recessive alleles are found in fruit flies: vermillion (v) eyes are recessive
to wild-type eyes, miniature wings (m) are recessive to wild-type wings, and sable body color (s) is
recessive to wild-type body color. A cross between a female with vermillion eyes, miniature
wings, and sable body and a male wild type for all three genes produced an F1 with wild-type
females and males with vermillion eyes, miniature wings and sable body. The F1 females and
males were then crossed, and the following F2 progeny were produced:
vermillion, miniature, sable 1320
wild type 1346
vermillion, miniature 102
sable 90
vermillion 42
miniature, sable 48
vermillion, sable 2
miniature 3
a) Give the genotypes of the P1 and F1 females and males, indicating the linkage arrangement of
the alleles on the X chromosome (i.e., a b c / a+ b+ c+).
b) Give the relative order of these genes on the X chromosome.
c) Determine the map distance and crossover interface

While on a field course in the virgin islands you discover a new dragonfly species that has either red (R) or clear (r) wings. Initial crosses indicate that R is dominant to r. You preform these crosses using three different sets of red-winged parents with unknown genotype and observe the data given:
1. cross: 72 red-winged and 24 clear-winged--> what is the genotype of the parents?
2. cross: 4 red-winged--> what is the genotype of the parent?
3. cross: 96 red-winged--> what is the genotype of the parent?
what is the most likely genotypes for each set of parents?
is there a sufficient number of progeny to support each of your answers?
