  • What are some worthwhile pregnancy magazines to subscribe to?

I am in my mid 30's and we are getting ready to try to conceive. What are some worthwhile pregnancy magazines with interesting articles? I am interested in all kinds of pregnancy related topics but I don't want to spend a lot of money on a subscription to a magazine that is mostly just ads!

    Thanks for your help!

  • Should I hire a carpet cleaning service or just rent a rug cleaning machine from the hardware store?

We have truly horrid carpet. It is matted, stained and loose, with sags like a sharpei puppy. I know that having my carpet cleaned won't make it look like brand new again, but I wonder if having it done professionally will make any difference over just renting the rug doctor machine at the hardware store. I know it won't become beautiful like new carpet, but if I felt my carpets were at least clean and sanitary I would feel better about them.

    What is your experience?

  • How many sets of sheets do you own?

I come from a pack-rat family where we save everything, I mean EVERYTHING and I am trying to reform. I am wondering how many sets of sheets (per bed in a one bed household) are normal to own. How many do you own, and what do you consider too many sets of sheets?

  • Does anyone have some recommendations for positive, upbeat non-religious songs?

I am trying to shift my attitude, and I find that music really plays a big part in how I feel and how I interact with the world. I am trying to put together a mix tape of positive, happy songs, and would love some recommendations that I might not have thought or heard of. I want music that is positive, either fast or slow, and lyrics that are life affirming!

    Thanks!

  • Can you think of any songs about insomnia or simply not being able to sleep?

I am trying to put together a mix CD about insomnia and/or not being able to sleep for my Mom, who is suffering from trauma induced insomnia. I am looking for pretty much any genre of music, although she's a baby boomer, so she's not much of a death metal gal, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Has anyone had success with a natural way to eliminate migraines? Prescription meds are not working!?

My Mother is having cluster migraines, causing her to spend most of every week in bed, either surviving the migraines or recovering from the after effects. Zomeg and Imatrex caused her to have side effects, mostly of scary, out-of-control behavior, so she is just using Darvon and drinking coffee. This is no way to live! Has anyone used acupuncture, acupressure, a chiropractor, herbs, exercises...anything that works? I have been running her business with my husband in her absence and I am getting worried about her because she can barely work!

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • How do I repair a ceramic piece? A piece broke off of a ceramic plaque I have!?

The piece appears to be terra cotta, and is very porus. A two inch section of the edge of the piece broke off, and I would love to repair it. There are no chips or material missing from it.

What kind of glue or other substance should I use?

    Thanks!

  • Microsoft Excel 2003 Certification: What is the best software to use to study for the exam?

I have some knowledge of Microsoft Excel and I want to get certification. I know myself: I learn better from software than I do from reading a book. Does anyone have recommendations for software that would fit the bill? I would prefer something reasonably priced and quality, but that might be unrealistic!

    Thanks in advance!
