I'm open minded. I try to be as optimistic as reality will allow. I don't take kindly to people who are too busy pointing out the flaws of others without first taking a good look at themselves. There's no such thing as perfection. If we disagree on something, let's agree to disagree :)
Difficulty waking up in the morning, feels like I'm still dreaming?
The last little while I've had great difficulty waking up in the morning, mentally. Physically I can get moving but everything is very dream-like. This morning in particular I was having a dream about getting away (breaking free of a hospital) and when I got out of bed I still had a feeling of, shall we call it, paranoia (?) and panic. I've been awake for half an hour now and still kind of out of it. What could cause this and how can I get my mind to shift from the dream to reality? (Wow I sound crazy lol)

2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoIs back pain common with multiple sclerosis?
after having the MRIs confirm that I do in fact have MS about 3 weeks ago, I've since started having a lot of back pain starting at the base of my skull down to about half my back. I've never had this kind of pain before. Is it common to experience this with MS?

2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhen you were first diagnosed with MS how long did it take for the initial shock to go away?
I'm still in shock, it's only been 5 days since my diagnosis, I feel like I'm outside myself, not grounded. How long did the shock last for you? What did you find helped you accept it?
1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoI've just been diagnoses with MS and feel a bit scared..help?
I spent 3 days in the hospital and just got home yesterday, I've been told that I have early stage MS. I'm overwhelmed by this. Wondering if there are others who have it and what their experience has been like. I'm also wondering, since I don't have children yet and want to very soon, how it will affect conception/pregnancy/delivery.
I guess I just really need to talk to others who have it.
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoWhat should I watch for when dealing with someone with borderline personality disorder?
I've recently met a girl who may potentially become a friend (we are only acquaintences right now). She has let me know that she suffers from depression and bpd. I'm all too familiar with depression but less so when it comes to bpd. What sort of things should I be aware of?

I had the test done at my drs office but she told me that it could be too soon for their methods to show the results. How long does it take for pregnancy hormones to start showing up in your system?

5 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoConflict with Inlaws need to resolve but how?
So a few months ago my inlaws invited my hubby and I to go to Florida with them this coming May. At that time I had informed them that it wouldn't be financially possible since we've had some major expenses in the last year that has caused us to play a little bit of catch up. I thought I had made myself clear but apparently not. They are in town now and my hubby had lunch with his father today. Of course the topic came up again. I received a text message from hubby saying we needed to talk about May vacation. At first I was a bit clueless as to what he was talking about so I called him and he told me they were asking us to go again (grrr! they are so pushy!) I told my husband that nothing has changed since they asked the last time but he really wants to go. I told him he'd be going alone because I've said no and I meant it (with reasonable grounds if you ask me). He still wants to talk about it tonight but I'm already set in my decision, I'm trying to be financially responsible here but it's like they don't care. On top of that I'm the bad guy because of it. I don't want this to cause a 'fight' between my husband and I but I feel like it's his parents that are being completely disrespectful toward a decision that's already been made. I feel like he needs to stand his ground with them but it's clear he can't do that (hopefully with time he'll learn how).
Bottom line is, what do I do? Should I contact his parents and say that I'd already given an answer and that I don't appreciate their lack of respect for the decision? I don't know, it just pisses me off so much that everone thinks money grows on trees! Help? Advice!
12 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHave you had any bruising while taking Pristiq?
If you've taken Pristiq (antidepressant) did you have any bruising? I notice since I've been on the medication I seem to be bruising more easily. Recently I had a massage (my neck was kinked up pretty bad) and now have bruising around the shoulder blades. Curious if anyone else has experienced this?

If you don't, would you consider using them?
8 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWhat happens in the brain during a migraine?
There are many people who suffer from migraines. For myself, I find that it is often triggered by stress or by a sudden change in weather (specifically atmospheric pressure changes).
I wonder what is happening within the brain when a migraine strikes and if there is some explanation as to why, for the most part, my migraines are worse when the atmospheric pressure comes down as opposed to going up like many of the people I know.
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoThinking about reconnecting with my younger sister, should I make the first move?
My sister who is 8 yrs younger than I am (that makes her 20 btw) had a fall out nearly a year ago. After my parent's divorce she took to being completely disrespectful toward our mother, this was not something I could just stand by and let happen (my mother has been through a lot over the years, she has done nothing but her best for us). I confronted her on one occassion that led to our not talking. She had responded to one of my mom's text messages that said simply 'I love you' with eff off, I hate you. Seeing how much her response hurt our mother I spoke to her on the phone and told her she needs to stop being so disrespectful and at least try to sort things out so that they can have a proper relationship. Our mother, though hurt, forgives her and is waiting for her to give some indication that she wants to be part of her life.
Maybe I'm impatient but I truly miss my sister. I never wanted things to come to what they did. At the time I was struggling myself and could not take any more negativity from anyone and that's where some people have been removed from my life, including my sis. I want to reach out to her and apologize for having put myself in the middle of their relationship and all that aside would like to invite her back into my life.
On the one hand I really really want to do it but on the other I'm worried about her reaction. If she's as bitter as she was a year ago then she won't respond positively. I feel torn. Any advice? Should I reach out and hope for the best? I guess I'm scared of rejection ultimately....

3 AnswersDogs1 decade ago9 month old pup started nibbling on blankets/sheets, what might cause that?
She's a 9 month old boxer/lab cross. She's never showed this behaviour before until about a month ago. She has lots of toys and chews. We walk her regularly and have play time in the house too. Why has she started nibbling so much? We tell her 'NO!" but it doesn't seem to be getting thru to her. Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated!

9 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHow can I help my husband understand the depression?
I've been medicated since Friday, it's not going well. The side effects are overwhelming.
I saw my doc and was given a sedative to take with the anti depressant. When I dropped off my prescription it was going to be 25mins before it was ready so I went home and called my husband to ask that he pick it up for me on his way home. He wouldn't. To top it all off he wants to be intimate but for the last week and a bit my libido is practically non existant. I know he's upset about it but I want him to understand that right now I need him to be supportive. I will talk with him tonight about it. This morning he made me feel worse and sent my mind into a viscious circle of thoughts about our relationship that I don't much care for. He was upset that he didn't get laid last night so when he left this morning there was no I love you, instead he said "don't stay in bed all day". :( How can I help him better understand? It's hard enough for me to have proper thought process but I need him to be more supportive with me right now until I level out again. Help!
6 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoAnyone else even been on the antidepressant Pristiq?
I just started this particular med yesterday and I felt incredibly paranoid all afternoon (I took it at 8am). Did you have a similar symptom? I don't see it listed on the list of side effects so I wondered if others have had the same experience.
I've already spoken with a doctor about it, I'm just curious what others experience is/has been with it.
