  • How "political indoctrinating" do you feel was Pres. Obama's speech to the school children?

On Monday, September 7, 2009 the White House made available on its website the speech that President Obama will be making to the school children on September 8th. How "threatening" or "politically indoctrinating" did you find this speech (please site specific examples) or do you feel that "scare tactics" were used again to try to split the American people from working together.

  • what is your opinion on Ms. California keeping her crown?

I'm not faulting her for her answer to Perez Hilton. His question was stated as to what was "her opinion" on gay marriage. So she gave "her opinion". Mr. Hilton when you ask someone their opinion--on't get pissy when they give it to you (even if it is an opinion you do not like.)

What I disagree with is the fact that she lied about her nude picture on her resume when entering the contest. Other contestants had nude pictures in their portfoliios but they disclosed these on their resumes.

For this reason alone she should have been disqualified.

For such a CHRISTIAN, why did she lie on the application.

Never mind the BOOB job paid for the California pagaent committee.

  • Not give away programs. Do you agree or disagree?

Social Security and Medicare are not give away programs. We pay for these programs from our paychecks through deductions. When it comes time to retire --the senior citizen has EARNED his or her social security check and medicare rights. Unfortunately, THESE ARE NOT

THE GOLDEN YEARS OF RETIREMENT. Many senior citizen even with their social security checks still have to work part or full time due

    to the rising prices.

Those who are not healthy enough to work should be helped--they deserve as much from the government they have supported for so many years.

From paychecks there is also deduction for disability. Just like car

insurance (you pay for it until you need it; and when you need it you are glad you have it) Car crash can happen to anyone; ski injury can keep you out or work for weeks--so you never know.

Social Security is also there for WIDOWS OR WIDOWERS AND

THEIR CHILDREN. Just ask the families of the many heroes we have

lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. They paid into the system too and we should honor that as well as their service. This goes for the men and women in law enforcement and in fire prevention also.

  • Why are there so many racial attacks in Patchogue, Long Island (NY)?

A couple of weeks ago a group of teenagers surrounded a hispanic man and one of them stabbed him to death. A couple of nights ago

another group of teenagers (including girls) accosted two hispanic males as they came out of a restaurant and started with racial comments, pushing and shoving the men. They ran away when a code

enforcement officer who driving by stopped his car and chased them away.

Is the KKK alive and well in this town? What else could be causing this behavior in the teenagers from the same high schools and same town.

P.S. One of the men being hassled happened to be the cousin of the man who was killed previously.

  • Should parents be sued for this crime?

7 teenagers were arrested in Long Island, NY for killing a hispanic man.

Boys said that their goal for that night was to go out and deliberately kill a hispanic male. For no other reason that the victim be hispanic.

During their ride through the streets they spotted their victim. They

started shouting racial slurs and started beating on him -- and then

They succeeded. They killed a hispanic man who had been in the US 16 years and was going home to his family after finishing work. All 7

guys were arrested. The hispanic community in this town is up in arms because this is not the first incident involving this group.

Several weeks ago they also attacked another hispanic male who luckily was able to get away. This community feels it should also sue

the parents of these teenagers (ALL STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL). The law suit would state that these parents encouraged an condoned the actions of these boys to do this .

Prejudice that leads to violence must come from somewhere.

It has to be taught. I don't think it is in any school curriculum. I don't

think that it is something that come naturally; like blinking or breathing.

  • Are there any "work at home job" that are not scams?

Due to a disability I am not able to work full-time. I cannot stand or sit for long periods of time either. For the past couple of months I have tying to connect with companies that say they have "telecommuting" jobs available. Unfortunately, most of these are scams. I am really discouraged, I am also a senior citizen. So I tried some of the sites

on AARP. These seem to be mostly for second career or social connections. Hopefully someone may have some suggestions.
